Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that over the last two weeks there have been big backstage changes to the direction of the 205 Live brand.
Vince McMahon has reportedly stepped aside as the show runner and Triple h has taken over the role. There have been noticeable changes to the presentation of the 205 Live show the last two weeks. It began two weeks ago, when new 205 Live GM Drake Maverick announced the tournament for the vacant WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
The plan is to present the brand closer to how the Cruiserweight were presented in the Cruiserweight Classic. There will be more of a focus on the in ring competition with Triple H in charge as opposed to the more character driven style show under Vince McMahon.
Adam Pearce is the lead producer of 205 Live after being moved up from his role as a coach at the WWE Performance Center. Jonathan Baeckstrom, who has been with WWE since 2013 on the creative team is the lead writer with Triple H servering as the final decision maker for the brand.
NXT superstar Roddrick Strong was called up to 205 Live to help freshen up the talent pool. It is possible that there could be additional call ups to the roster in the future.
While there are currently not any plans right now for any 205 Live house shows, they are not off the table in the future. The current focus will be to building the brand around in ring competition and strong athletic characters.
Opininionated View- Oh great now the IWC will start kissing 205 LIve's ass. Hasn't changed that so far there segments on Raw remain piss breaks. And lets see how long this lasts in terms of being like the CWC except you know the CWC wasn't that good. And are they actually going to let the guys show there full potential again and stopping the action so damn slow? I mean if you counting on Roderick Strong to help you division you are in trouble.
