PWInsider reports that Ethan Carter III (EC3) will finish up with Impact Wrestling after tonight’s tapings in Orlando. EC3’s deal was expected to expire during the summer but he was granted an early release.
After spending time in WWE as Derrick Bateman, he debuted in Impact in EC3 and became one of the promotion’s top stars. He recently filed for a trademark on the EC3 name after Impact decided to allow talent to keep the rights to their characters.
It’s possible that EC3 could now be on WWE’s radar, something that was reported on last month.
Opinionated View- To me this is a big loss. Some big debuts and returns will lessen the blow but I'm going to miss EC3. And outside of Roode who isn't really being used that well what guy from Impact is doing well in WWE right now? EY is stuck in NXT, Bennett hasn't been on TV in weeks, Jade didn't even get picked up.
