– This was a fun match that got War Machine further in the tag division while the predictable happened between Coleman and Alexander. After the match Cedric told Coleman that they were done as a tag team but he did not go so far as to hit him with the wrench that he wanted to use during the match. Decent match.
ROH World Champion #1 Contender’s Match
“Mr ROH” Roderick Strong def Moose & “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin after a sick kick on Moose
– Really fun entrance for Moose with the use of some cheerleaders and his customized football gear. Roderick Strong also came out like a house of fire and I think it was obvious by the use of streamers that the fans are excited for him. Elgin starts it off after blind siding his opponents after following the ‘code of honor’ handshake. During the match Moose paid homage to Dusty Rhodes which was nice. It was interesting to note that probably more than half the crowd was chanting for Roddy while the rest were very pro Moose. Elgin tried to play to it in his own way but a lot of stuff he does is still going to pop the crowd like his stalling suplex.
– Moose did shake Roddy’s hand after the match and Veda slapped him hard for it despite Stokely trying to stop her. Moose looked like he was going to spear Veda (he’s a face?) but Cedric came out and helped her and hit Stokely. Looks like we have Veda managing Cedric now and Stokely staying with Moose.
Bullet Club (AJ Styles & Young Bucks) def The Kingdom (Adam Cole, Michael Bennett, Matt Taven) w/ Maria Kanellis after a Styles Clash on Cole
– Fun moment with the Kingdom showing the sign of four to the Bullet Club during an attempted code of honor. Really fun match with tons of memorable moments like a double indytaker driver, superkicks on Maria, The Kingdom turning the tables on the BC and super kicking them out, and so much more. This match was a lot of fun. It did seem like there was a lot of offense done on Cole compared to the rest of the Kingdom and then to have him get pinnned is interesting though we did say that would happen on the preview show and particularly from Styles. Should be interesting to see where this leads to.
NO DQ for the ROH World Tag Team Championship
The Addiction (c) def reDRagon with celbrity rehab on Fish to retain
– The no DQ thing was what it was. Not saying this was a bad match but about halfway through Fish was handcuffed to the ropes but then cut free just in time to save O’Reilly from a pinfall. Honestly was just kinda there. It wasn’t a bad match, but it also didn’t really do what I thought it should. The use of ladders and chairs took away more than it did to advance any storyline element or the feud itself. O’Reilly and Fish still utilized straight wrestling and submission holds more than anything which I get is their “thing”, but it felt like if you’re going to have a no DQ that it should progress the feud. As predicted Sabin interfered just as reDRagon hit chasing the dragon on Fish and were about to win which then lead to the KRD retaining the titles.
Champion vs. Champion
ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal w/Truth Martini def ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe to win the ROH World Championship and retain the TV Championship
This match was pretty good and it started out nicely with Todd Sinclair ejecting Dijak and Diesel early on. Both men worked to their strengths with mat work and some outside brawling. Both hit numerous finishers including Jay hitting a Jay Driller through a table on the outside. Nigel actually used some authority and tossed out Martini after he blatantly allowed Lethal to hit a low blow on Briscoe behind the ref’s back. Jay Lethal hit a Jay Driller on Lethal followed up by a Lethal Injection to win the ROH World Championship and retain his TV Title. Both men shook hands after the match to end the show on a high note.
