Flashback Review TNA Lockdown 2006

In 2004 TNA shifted away from the weekly pay per view format to the monthly format. It was also around this time that Dusty Rhodes took over as booker. Going into April Dusty wanted to book a card with two cage matches one with AJ Styles vs Abyss to be number one contender for the NWA world title and a war games style match that became Lethal Lockdown. Than he decided to make the entire card cage matches some say it was a call from management to avoid downtime as the cage was set up this wouldn't have been so bad except some match already had stipulations to them leading to some strange moments and the first Lethal Lockdown wasn't that good. How ever the AJ vs Abyss match was a classic. Eventually Dusty was taken off creative and replaced with a creative team but the Lockdown concept was kept around and remains as one of TNA's top events. Even with TNA cutting down PPV's Lockdown remains. Lockdown is one of those events you love or you hate. I usually love it my buddy Patrick Kelly hates the concept but he's if the shows good he gives it credit. The 2006 version of the event I loved at the time. It had a Lethal Lockdown that really got the concept right and a great NWA title match with a hot build and a classic feud. How ever in 2014 I might feel differently.

Now as I mentioned in my Against All Odds review TNA has the issue of suddenly having two big names in Sting and Christian joining the roster. The clearly wanted Sting vs Jarrett for the NWA title at Bound for Glory but knew Christian was so hot they had to put the belt on him. So Sting "retired"  because his match at FInal Resolution had been the closure needed after WCW shut down. How ever in storyline Eric Young refused to accept Sting was gone so Jarrett to prove he was sent Alex Shelley to spy on Sting. And well Sting went "Closure by damned how dare you do that to my family!" And returned at Destination X to attack Jarrett only to beat down by Jarrett's allies. They also did something like this for the NWA title match have Abyss' manager James Mitchell with Shelley stalk Christian's wife Denise and than have Abyss attack Christian in his house and nearly drown him in a pool. So TNA had two very hot angles going into this event.

We open with a video of James Mitchell narrating asking if Christian can defend his title or has Abyss gotten to him. We get to footage of the various attacks during the feud. We than get hype for the Samoa Joe vs Sabu match and the  lethal lockdown match. Its a really well done video that gets you amped up for the three biggest matches on the card. We also hear Christian asking "Are you pre parted to die?" and Sting threatening to rip Jarrett's hart out his chest.

Mike Tenay and Don West are our announce team. Tenay hypes the show and we get a nice shot of the six sides of steel. We are out of the Impact Zone for this event.

World X-Cup Preview
Team Japan Minoru, Goto, and Black Tiger vs Team USA Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley and Jay Lethal- The World X-Cup was a concept TNA would do from time to time brining in wrestlers from all over the world. Black Tiger is a gimmick that gets handed down in Japan among past Black Tigers are Roller Ball Rocaka and Eddie Gurrerro. This one is ROH standout Rocky Romero. Since Shelley was a the one heel on Team USA West speculated they may not be able to work with him. Big Chant for Lethal to start. Shelley and Minoru start us off. Big kick right to Shelley chest but Shelley kicks another one for a dragon screw leg whip. Shelley runs right into a drop kick. Black Tiger tags in but Shelley with a big back body drop. Flying headscciores by Shelley. Lethal tags himself in. Goto and Lethal with an amateur style exchange. Big shoulder tackle by Goto. Tag back to Black Tiger. Triple team by USA. Wheel barrow blew by Lethal onto Shelley's legs with Sonjay with a lionsault. Assisted senton by Shelley and Sonjay. West and Tenay how good it is to see Team USA working together like this. Sonjay charges but drop toe hold by Tiger tag to Goto. We see Team Team Mexico is out to watch on the ramp. Team Japan works over Sonjay with a triple dropkick but Shelley makes the save. Tenay says all three members of Team Japan are members of team caption's Jushin Liger CTU stable in Japan. (and yes I got that wrong in the Global Impact review) Goto with a  belly to back suplex on Lethal gets two. USA with a series of charges on Goto. Frog splash by Shelley gets two. Shelley with a kick sends Goto into Lethal for a german than a running shooting star by Sonjay save by Black Tiger. Minoru with a cross arm breaker on Lethal save by Sonjay. Exchanges of flying kicks by everyone. Shelley nails Sonjay with a super kick and than Goto takes out Shelley. Tiger Suplex by Black Tiger on Lethal for the win. Awesome opening match lots of action and never a dull moment. And we push the story of Shelley still not being able to work just right with his team mates.

West and Tenay run down the rest of the card and remind us every match is in the steel cage. Jeremy Borash is backstage and interviews Team 3D before there Anthem Match match with Team Canada. Brother Ray says tonight the war ends. He tells us they are finally reunited with Little Brother Runt. Ray says he would rather go work for "That miserable company in Standford" than have Canada. Devon tells us you don't mess with Team 3D. Larry Zbyszko shows up and asks what JB knows about the big announcement management has going on. Good promo by Team 3D. At this stage TNA was setting up to replace Larry as the on screen since his contract was up later that year. It was also going to be our payoff to the long running Larry is corrupt story.

Christopher Daniels vs Senshi- This was a open challenge and Senshi is more commonly known as Low Ki or Kaval in WWE. TNA had brought him back but wanted to start putting guys under names they would own the copy right to and it never really worked. This match was really more of a place holder for Daniels since his feud with AJ and Joe was over and the plan was for AJ and he to team up but AJ was booked for the Lethal Lockdown. There is history here as both men are former member of Triple X during the early day of TNA. Daniels tries to talk to and ask who this is going to be but Senshi starts to attack. Daniels fires but shots of his own. Daniels goes for a belly to back but Senshi lands on his feet. Split chants as we get lets go Daniels lets go Low Ki (like I said the Senshi name never really caught on). Big Suplex by Senshi followed by the series of kicks. Spinning back kick by Senshi puts Daniels down and than Low Ki with a round house to the back of Daniels head. Abdominal stretch Camel clutch combo submission by Senshi. West and Tenay put over Senshi's history in TNA an this success in Japan and talk about what depth he adds. Exchange of chops. Daniels has control until Senshi lands a big double chop. Daniels goes for a sunset flip but Senshi lands a double stomp. Senshi goes for a spring board kick but Daniels ducks and lands a kick of his own. Daniels suplexs Senshi up into the cage wall. Blue thunder bomb by Daniels gets two. Daniels goes to charge but Senshi moves and Daniels hits the steel. Senshi with a amazing running drop kick sends Daniels crashing into the cage again. Sloppy looking Death Valley Driver by Daniels. BME by Daniels only gets two. Fighting on the top rope as Daniels rams the back of Senshi's head into cage. Senshi blocks the super angels wins and Daniels his the ground. Double Stomp front the top attempt but Daniels moves. STO by Daniels. Daniels again sets for the angles wings but Senshi with a modified Northern Lights Suplex with his feet on the ropes for the pin. Very good match for some reason I always think this match was a squash for Senshi but it was actually very even. Its to bad Senshi seems to be that guy that always gets in his own way because the guy is talented.

Backstage JB interviews The James Gang and Bullet Bob. Bob reminds us that Konnan was like family to him. Decent promo but I don't care about arm wrestling or Bullet Bob. BG tells us Konnan broke his heart but tonight he breaks his skin.

Arm Wrestling Winning team gets to strap the losers Bullet Bob with The James Gang vs Konnan with LAX- Hernandez had finally joined LAX. Konnan says Bullet Bob is going to lose. even though he hurt himself last night KO'ing 15 Orlando punk ass. Every Lockdown seems to have that one dud match and this was the one for this year. And no I don't give a Rat's Ass how great Bullet Bob was in his day. He was 66 and its freaking arm wrestling. The ref kicks LAX and the James Gang to the outside of the cage. This Sucks it's two guys arm wrestling how can I even rate this. Finally Armstrong puts Konnnan's arm down. Konnan tells his boys they have to take the whipping or else TNA will suspended them. Whipping takes forever as BG cracks jokes finally the James just goes off and beat LAX up. Now I can't confirm this but I have always thought the only reason this segment happened on PPV was BG an Jeff Jarrett are friends and Jeff had booking power.

Finally we go package to Jarrett, Scott Steiner and AMW. Larry comes in to tell us Team Jarrett will have the advantage in Lethal Lockdown. Larry asks the announcement but Jarrett says he has more important things to worry about. Storm says they are going to beat Sting and his teams ass. Harris claims AMW made Six Sides of Steel famous (they did) Harris also says the blood of Sting's warriors are on his hands. Steiner says he will kick ass and he is ready to snap. Good promo again we are selling the story of Larry losing control and now turing to his secret ally Jeff for help only for Jeff to not care since Larry hasn't helped him in months.

Xscape Match Elix Skipper with Simon Diamond vs Petey Williams with Coach Scott D'Amore vs Puma vs Chase Stevens vs Shark Boy vs Chris Sabin - We get elimination rules until it's down to two and than the Xscape rules go into effect. Puma was TJ Perkins and now plays Manik back than TNA would bring in from time to time. Stevens normal partner Andy Douglas was out selling an injury at the hands of Scott Steiner. Sabin and Williams had a long running feud and both were Captains in the years World X-Cup Sabin even came down with Old Glory. Skipper had been part of great cage matches in the past and had been part of the walking the cage into a rana at Turning Point 04. We see D'Amore and Skipper talking on the outside. Williams and Sharky start us off. Great looking standing dropkick by Shark Boy. D'Amore heads over to the announce tale to tell us that he and Diamond had reached a deal it would come down to Skipper and Williams and than they would fight it out "like gentlemen." Sharkboy looks for the Dead Sea drop but Petey goes for eyes. Tag to Puma. Another good looking dropkick by Sharky and than a headscciores.  Backdrop suplex by Puma. Shark Boy with a Franken Steiner and than a missile dropkick Puma tag to Skipper. Spin kick by Skipper misses but Sharkboy sells it. Twisting leg drop off a top rope headstand by Skipper. Shark Boy with a russian leg sweep off the top rope. Skipper tag back in Petey. WIlliams his the Canadian Destoyrer  to eliminate Shark Boy. West and Tenay sell that Shark Boy had spent to much time in the ring while every else was tagging out. In comes Sabin. Sabin with a series of blows and a running drop kick on Williams. Petey with a great looking Tornado DDT using the cage on Sabin. Sabin tags in Stevens. Every body comes in Petey tries to hit the destroyer but Steven blocks it and turn it into the Alabama Slam. Sudden Death by Skipper on Puma. Everyone is down as Stevens climbs up the cage. Rest of the guys start to brawl in the middle. Stevens with a shooting star press and in one of those infamous moments NO ONE CATCHES HIM. Stevens hits the mat face first. Now in a spot like this the idea is everyone catches the guy and they all go down. But you will often see guy not catch anything and right here Everyone was that guy. And no I'm not making this up Skipper admitted it an interview even saying he still felt bad about it. Stevens pins Williams gets two. Primetime with Overtime pins Stevens.. Everyone jumps on Sabin.  Skipper goes for pin on Sabin but WIlliams breaks the alliance and rolls Skipper up to eliminate him. On the outside Simon Diamond is pissed the two managers are about to fight. Puma drop kicks Primetime out of the ring and he lands on Diamond. Williams blocks a Rana attempt by Puma into a power bomb. Catapult by Williams puts Puma in position for Sabin's Future Shock. Now Xscape Rules are in effect first one to climb over the cage wins. Running forearm by Sabin. Both men climb. Sabin goes for a sunset bomb but Williams jumps and hits a leg drop on Sabin neck.  Running Yakuza kick by Sabin. Hesitation dropkick by Sabin. Sabin starts to climbs up but D'Amore holding him in place as Williams starts to climb. Sabin goes back up. In a pretty creative finish Sabin rams Williams head and he falls and winds up landing and sitting on D'Amore's shoulders as Sabin drops down for the win. A very fun match just what you want out of this tons of action and high spots. Also Team USA picks up an unofficial win over Team Canada important since USA had lost several preview matches leading up to the Cup.

Backstage JB is Abyss and James Mitchell. JB asks if Abyss has awakened the monster in Christian Cage. Mitchell makes it clear that was the plan they want Christian emotional and angry. Mitchell insults Christian for going to Toronto to film a movie and leaving his wife alone. Mitchell promises Abyss will win the the only thing rolling will be Christian's head. Good promo and I like the story here. You had Cage a great wrestler who had a speed and technical advantage being tempted to try and brawl and fight with Abyss.

X-Division Championship Samoa Joe © vs Sabu- The story here was you had Samoa Joe the most dangerous and brutal man in wrestling today vs Sabu the High Flying Hardcore Legend something unlike Joe had ever faced. Joe had faced high fliers but never one like Sabu. Sadly Sabu had suffered a broken arm witch affected his performance and he worse a cast on his arm. Tenay puts over that both men are trendsetters in there own way. Sabu tosses the chair right at the start. Sabu goes for the same clutch but Joe powers out and land vicious kicks. Joe goes to charge but Sabu tosses the chair again. Front face lock by Joe Sabu drops and Joke kicks him in the head. Joe sends Sabu into the cage busting him open. Joe with the double knee drop. Air Sabu knocks Joe down. Arban Face Buster. Spring board leg drop by Sabu. Sabu sells the blood loss as he slow to follow up. Sabu pulls out a Spike Joe fight it off and goes for a cross arm breaker. Joe starts to target the injured arm Elbowing stomping and slamming it down before twisting on it. Cutter off the top rope by Joe gets two. Joe goes for the double knees again but misses. Sabu goes for a move but Joe tosses the chair and than Muscle Buster for the win. Short match but very intense. I like the logic in that because like say the legendary Hagler vs Hearns fight a intense fight doesn't last long. Good moment as Joe again wins and shows he do more than just beat up X-Division guys.

JB is with Team Canada of D'Amore, Roode, A-1 and Eric Young. Eric asks 3D is mad? Roode says it doesn't matter pointing out that last time they laid out 3D and buried under the flag. D'Amore says he's sick of the same old "Great Team Ever" promo by Team 3D (Gee if he was sick of it in 06 how did he feel in the years ahead.) D'Amore points out his boys have held the NWA belts unlike 3D. Larry again interrupts but D'Amore blows him off getting pissed saying "he tried to tell" Larry earlier and that it's Larry's turn to take the wrap.

Anthem Match Team Canada Bobby Roode, A-1, and Eric Young with Scott D'Amore vs Team 3D Brother Ray, Brother Devon, Brother Runt- These two had an ongoing feud dating back Team 3D's TNA debut. Canada had laid out 3D and buried them in the Maple Leaf. Rules were capture the other team's flag and your country's Anthem Plays. Ray and Runt came out in ware paint. Both teams have the smaller team member stand on the turnbuckle to block the flag Tenay compares it to being Hockey Goalies. A-1 vs Devon and Roode vs Ray. Canada goes to whip 3D into each other but we get the do see do into lariats. Young comes off with Double clotheslines to take out 3D. Run off with a duel drop kick takes out A-1 and Roode. In a smart move we see Runt trying to work his way around to get the flag but A-1 and Roode see him and stop him. Bubba Bomb by Ray on Roode off the top rope. EY goes for the flag but Runt cuts him off and rams his head and than hits a double stomp. Runt goes for the US flag but Roode cuts him off. Roode use his tape to choke Runt. Ray makes the save for his little brother. Spine buster by Roode on Runt. Roode gets whipped into the corner and takes out the referee. Double team flap jack on A-1. What's Up on Young. Ray grabs the US flag but the referee is still down. Roode destroys Runt ramming him into the cage and than a sit out bomb. Eric Young puts the US Flag back in place. D'Amore takes out the gate keeper and unlocks the cage and gets a table for his boys to use. Runt put on the table and EY goes for the elbow drop but Runt moves. Low Blow followed by the Acid Drop on A-1. 3D on Roode. Runt recaptures the flag and this time the referee see it. I really liked this finish since it played off the end of the AMW vs Team 3D title match a few months before and it was a pretty good brawl everyone got a chance for a big spot. Post match Old Glory is raised to the top of the building. Ray calls for everyone to stand. D'Amore tries to stop him and he gets a 3D.

West and Tenay take a moments to reset and hype the rest of the card and the upcoming major announcement from TNA management. We hear music playing and suddenly Christy Hemme makes her TNA debut and comes down the ramp. Christy has an envelope and gives it to Tenay. Tenay asks the truck to open his microphone to the Impact Zone since this is the announcement. Tenay declares TNA management is under going a major shake up and a well known person will so becomes the public face of TNA management. Larry Zbysko  is placed on probation. Larry comes out ranting and raving and demands to know what nitwit put him on probation. Tenay asks if Larry has done anything wrong. Larry says he can't do anything wrong he's the boss. Tenay also announces Raven who Larry had fired was back on the roster. Raven makes his entrance. Larry runs but Raven gives chase. Larry goes into the cage and holds the door shut. Security steps in and pulls Raven back. Decent segment as I have said before the Raven and Larry stuff was changed when Sting and Christian joined the company.

Backstage JB tires to interview Christian. Christian says nothing simply takes off his ring jacket and walks off. JB says "Actions will speak louder than words." I love not having Christian speak. Normally with Christian heel or face we get a long promo with some funny lines even before his NWA title shot. But this isn't the time for comedy. This is a man that had his wife stalked and confronted terrifying her. Than he was attacked in his own home. This is hardly the time for comedy. Again if you never seen saw the build for this match you really missed out on some great stuff.

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Christian Cage © vs Abyss with James Mitchell- Abyss not only had his chain with him but also his black bag of tacks. Abyss tries to attack Cage at the start but Cage scores a spear first. But Abyss quickly takes over with big blows. Abyss chokes Christian and holds him up against the cage. Christian goes for a move off the steps but Abyss moves and Christian hits the guard rail. Brawl into the stands. Again this is something almost every year at Lockdown that one match that start outside of the cage and I like them doing it since it breaks it up. Abyss tries to throw Cage off the top of the bleachers. Christian fights back back on ground level Christian tosses Abyss into the wall. Christian again charges but Abyss back body drops back over the guard back to ringside. West points out the match hasn't even officially started yet. Abyss goes to slam the cage door into Christian but the champ moves. Christian traps Abyss in the door and slam it on his shoulder a few times. Mitchell with the distraction allowing Abyss to open door and hit Christian with it.  Finally we go into the cage and the bell rings with Abyss in control. Big corner splash by Abyss. Press slam by Abyss sends Cage into the cage wall. Cage escapes another press slam and goes for the unprettier Abyss shoves him off and hits the press slam after Cage hits the ropes. Abyss uses his boot to press Cage's face into the cage and than running splash as Cage is between the ropes and cage. Abyss power bombs Cage into the cage wall and than he does it again. West says Christian lets his emotions gets the best of him. Christian moves on a running splash and Abyss hits the cage wall. Abyss whips Christian and he nearly hits the referee than Abyss charges and Cage again saves the ref. I like that logic you think it Christian trying to make sure Mitchell can't do what D'Amore did earlier but Abyss nails the referee with a clothesline. Christian with a tornado DDT off the top. No referee. Mitchell  uses the camera hole to toss Abyss the NWA belt and the cane. Belt shot ducked Unprettier but Abyss kicks at two thanks to the delay in the injured referee counting. Frog splash off the top of the cage by Christian. Abyss kicks at two. Unprettier attempt again but Abyss counters into the shock treatment.

Abyss gets the bag and lays out the tacks. Christian gets the cane and breaks it on Abyss. Christian back to the top of the cage but Abyss tosses the referee into the cage and Christian falls hanging onto the cage. Abyss sets of the chokes slam but Christian fights free. Sunset flip bomb and Abyss lands in the tacks. A cover but still no referee. Slick Johnson (It was a small story where Slick a "man on the rise") runs in and counts but it's only two. Christian picks up the belt and goes to hit Abyss but instead gets the Black Hole Slam but kick out at two. Abyss and Mitchell do a great job of selling the shock. Mitchell hands Abyss another bag of tacks. Abyss goes for the choke slam but Christian escapes Unprettier into the tacks. Awesome freaking match. Both guys did a great job of selling the story and the moves. We also got some really good moves if you want to see a great cage match seek this one out.

Post match Christian celebrates his big win as we see. West declares he got his revenge. West and Tenay start to move to hype the lethal lockdown as Christian walks away but suddenly Cage starts to return and goes after Mitchell. Abyss saves his manager and grabs his chain. West says "He got to greedy." Abyss wraps the chain around his fist and punches Christian. Cage is busted open. Abyss uses his chain to hang Christian out of the cage door. Mitchell picks up the NWA title and taunts Christian. Abyss and Mitchell walk off with the stolen belt. Normally a cage match should be the end but there was more than enough here for a rematch and it was a great segment to keep the feud going.

JB interviews Ron Killings, Rhino and AJ. Killings says. War What's up. AJ tells us Sting could have wrestled any where and he came to TNA he also say he could have picked anyone so this team won't let him down. Rhino reminds us he is the War Machine and he will be at home when the cage closes and he will take someone out with a Gore. Sting comes in the shot to declare "Its Showtime."

Lethal Lockdown Planet Jarrett Jeff Jarrett, Chris Harris, James Storm, and Scott Steiner with Gail Kim and Jackie Gayda vs Sting's Warriors Sting, AJ Styles, Ron Killings, and Rhino- Rules are two men start after five minutes one team member of the heels will enter than two minutes later a face can enter and so on and so on. After all eight men have entered the cage ceiling will come down and weapons will be in play. First pin or submission after that wins. Earl Hebner will be the referee. Chris Harris starts for the heel team. AJ starts for the faces. Harris with a running knee to start and some big shots put AJ down. Harris tries to ram into the cage but AJ blocks it with his boot. AJ goes for the drop kick but Harris stops himself on the ropes. Harris mocks AJ and winds up taking a dropkick because of it.  Harris picks AJ up and runs him back first into the cage and than he goes it again. Harris goes to Lawn Dart AJ into the cage but AJ slips off the back. AJ traps Harris between the ropes and the cage and hits a few Stinger splashes on him. AJ rams Harris head into the cage . West and Tenay point out "AJ has to take out Harris because the numbers will be against him."  AJ goes for a splash but Harris catches him for a catatonic. Harris goes or it again AJ rolls though and hits the Styles Clash. Earl Hebner forgets the rules and counts pitfalls. James Storm is man two for Jarrett. AJ drops kicks the door trying to hit Storm but he ducks and it's Gail Kim that gets hit. Storm throws the cage back into AJ. I think the hit on Gail was unplanned given how Don and Mike reacted. Storm hits the eye of the storm on AJ. AJ racked across the cage both AJ and Harris and bleeding. AJ tries to fight back but AMW hits the Hart Attack clothesline. Rhino is man two for team Sting. AMW all over Rhino to start but Rhino with baby face fire. Rhino runs both AMW members into the cage and than a whacked spine buster on Harris. Storm sidesteps the Gore. Now Storm is bleeding. Jeff Jarrett out next. Rhino out of the cage and meets him on the ramp. AJ and Rhino beat up Jarrett on the outside. Jarrett tossed into the cage. Back in the cage the heels take over given the numbers game.  Rhino tossed into the cage wall and he's now bleeding. Jarrett suplexs AJ into the cage wall.

Ron Killings out next. Killings with his usual offense as he comes in and takes Jarrett out with a forearm. Big jumping kick takes out Storm. Harris goes for a suplex but Killings counters into a stunner. AJ climbs to the top of the cage Storm cuts him off and than Jarrett joins but Rhino and Killings cut them off. Storm at the bottom for the tower of doom. Everyone is down as Scott Steiner makes his entrance. OVer head belly to belly on Rhino and than a normally belly to belly on Killings. Press slam on A. Steiner with a over head bell to bell off the second rope on Killings. Killings being a idiot does a cartwheel after being tossed into the cage. Sting comes out with his team laid out. BIg chops and kicks by Sting on everyone Jarrett into the steel than Harris and Storm Big punch layout Steiner. Sting stacks up the heel in the corner Stinger Splash and than another one. The cage roof lowers with the the weapons. The faces grab some weapons and layout the bad guys. Storm trying to escape climbs up and gets out of hole in the roof. AJ gives chase. There are weapons on the roof. We focus on AJ and Storm as they trade punches. Gail Kim starts to climb up to after AJ. Jackie climbs up and pulls of Gail's skirt (Story was Jackie was being blackmailed by the heels and she was alway picked on) Gail runs off out of embarrassment. Superkick lays out AJ. Storm sets up a table.  Back in the cage the rest of the guys fight it out. Jarrett gets a guitar but so does Sting. Sting drops his and picks up a bat and busts Jarrett's. Low blow by Steiner on Sting. AJ has gotten control on the top and see up a ladder. AJ climbs up the ladder and uses a light rack like a pair of money bars and than drops onto Storm through the table. HOLY SHIT  I said it than and I say it now. Back in the cage. Killings pins Harris but Jarrett makes a save. Jarrett hits the stroke into the chair. Gore by Rhino but Steiner with a suplex than the Recliners but Sting with the Scorpion Death Drop. Harris decks Sting with a pari of handcuff. Scorpion Death Lock (He put it on Sting that is what I'm calling it) by Harris fans start to boo thinking it's screw job time. Sting counters and Harris taps out. We close as Sting and his team celebrate. Very good main event the right way to do this match logic was there all the way through outside of the stalling for the AJ spot but the payoff was worth it. Sting was back in TNA but he still needed to get revenge on Jarrett.

Lockdown 06 more than holds up outside of the stupid arm wrestling there isn't a bad match on here. And the two main events are still awesome. To TNA's credit they tried to give us different style cage matches all night long instead of just one kind. For the last few years Lockdown has not been all Steel but this year it returns to it roots. If you can find Lockdown 06 its worth the price and would be a great way to get ready for Lockdown 14.
