DGUSA News and Notes

DGUSA sent out the following today…
We regretfully announce that CIMA will not be on this weekend's events. CIMA has had back issues lately. We believed he would be able to compete this weekend at a high level. However, we determined yesterday that while CIMA can wrestle, he would not be able to meet expectations for a match of the magnitude as the one he was scheduled for on Saturday. In addition, we became fearful that around 30 hours of travel, resulting in a very tough schedule, would only lead to a setback in CIMA's recovery. We decided it was in the best interest for CIMA's future and in presenting the best possible shows to you that CIMA should stay in Japan. We realize this creates an awkward situation with no main Dragon Gate stars on these DGUSA events. Unfortunately, it is just how things transpired for this weekend and there is nothing you can do about injuries. We will make this up to you by presenting the best possible matches and using this as an opening for new stars to impress with the New Talent Initiative. If you want your ticket or iPPV refunded you must contact us before the show at Help@DGUSA.tv. We appreciate your understanding and we promise we will deliver this weekend. Now let's look at the updated lineups:

Johnny Gargano vs. Trent Baretta for the Open The Freedom Gate Title has been signed as the new main event for tomorrow night in Queens, NY. We'll give you an inside tip on this one. This was a planned top match for our 5th Anniversary Show this summer. However, we are going to hotshot it now to give Queens the best possible main event. Both Gargano and Baretta are at the top of their game. We are going to unleash them to perform at their best on Saturday.

Rich Swann vs. Anthony Nese in a contest between two of the best athletes today has also been added to Saturday's card in Queens.

Jigsaw vs. Shane Strickland has been signed for DGUSA REVOLT! on Saturday.

A big part of this weekend's events will be the DGUSA/EVOLVE New Talent Initiative. Several fresh faces are set to be a part of this and they will be in either singles or tag matches. We will announce now that Tim Donst is included on both the Queens and Brooklyn cards. We will keep the rest of the names a mystery. Watch the cards and find out who will grab this opportunity.

It will now be the winner of Johnny Gargano vs. Trent Baretta in Queens vs. Roderick Strong for the DGUSA Title in Brooklyn. We can't wait to start Roderick Strong in DGUSA this Sunday. He has the chance to come right in and take the top spot.

We aren't going to announce more matches for this Sunday's DGUSA live iPPV from Brooklyn, NY right now. This is due to the fact that we want to have some freedom to be spontaneous and put together the best possible matches based around the performances of those in the New Talent Initiative on Saturday. We can assure you that we will bring our "A" game to Brooklyn and not hold anything back when it comes to putting together the best, most exciting match ups. You already know three big matches are signed with Gargano/Baretta vs. Strong for the DGUSA Title, AR Fox vs. Chris Hero for the EVOLVE Title and Jigsaw vs. Fire in a Grudge Match.

Special things happen at The Lyceum in Brooklyn, NY. We saw the magic of the broken ring match with AR Fox vs. Ricochet at EVOLVE 24. DGUSA Freedom Fight 2013 witnessed Chris Hero's return to the independents in a classic vs. Johnny Gargano. We will keep the momentum going at our homebase on Sunday.

We will not raise ticket or iPPV prices on the day of the show due to the lineup change. We are also still offering Saturday's iPPV, which will be live to VOD, for just $9.99 until tonight at midnight. That's 33% off! You can order the iPPVs at www.WWNLive.com right now. Tickets for both Queens and Brooklyn are still available at the www.DGUSA.tv Shop. We will refund the shipping charge shortly after you order and hold them at the door. There will also be tickets available at the door in both Queens and Brooklyn. Here are the updated lineups:
