Many people backstage were surprised with the reaction that Zack Ryder got at the WWE Smackdown tapings in Uniondale, New York last night. Ever since being used sparingly, there are plans for WWE to make a drastic change to Ryder's character. Some small signs so far are his hair growing out, not spiking it, and taking a more serious approach when heading to the ring.\
I don't know this would shock WWE since for years they have misused Ryder and he's always managed to draw a strong reaction.
