Why Did Sheamus Win Money in the Bank?

Sheamus’ Money in the Bank win is the result of his planned win from last year’s event being derailed. Sheamus was intended to win the briefcase last year at Money in the Bank, but Daniel Bryan’s injuries resulted in some shuffling of the card. Sheamus was put in the WWE World Heavyweight Title ladder match, with John Cena winning based on the idea that he would be the best choice to drop the title to Lesnar. Seth Rollins was picked to get the Money in the Bank shot to help elevate him.

Sheamus was also supposed to turn heel and then face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania last year, but that was cancelled when Bryan was elevated into the World Title match due to the fact that the crowds weren’t into Batista as a babyface

Opinionated View- Problem is Sheamus is boring these days. This heel turn hasn't done much and I can't say since coming back he's had a good match. I'm glade he won it over say Kane or Orton but it's not like I'm jumping for joy.

Opinionated View- Now I hate Sheamus even more as he adds Michael Bay in his on going quest to destroy everything I loved as a child. But all joking aside congrats to the guy for this major chance.

Spoiler: New IC Champion Revealed on Arena Website

The official website of the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, where an upcoming WWE RAW taping will be taking place on 6/15, listed Sheamus as WWE Intercontinental Champion in the official listing of the show. This would seem to spoil Sheamus winning the currently vacated title at the upcoming 5/31 Elimination Chamber special event in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Opinionated View- Well plans can always change the question is now if Sheamus doesn't win the IC title was it due to plans changing or the website getting it right.

Is Sheamus Getting Heat for Working Recklessly?

- The Wrestling Observer reports that the recently returning WWE Superstar Sheamus could be in the doghouse. Per the report, Sheamus received some criticism and heat backstage this week for working recklessly in his match against Daniel Bryan at this week’s TV tapings.
During the course of the match, Bryan was busted open and needed seven stitches to close the cut. Going by some of the other broadcasts of the show that have already aired this week, a little blood was visible during the match.

WWE.com is advertising that Sheamus will be making his official return to WWE at RAW tonight live in San Jose on the USA Network starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern (7:00 CT).

Is Sheamus Appearing at WrestleMania 31?

According to the Wrestling Observer, Sheamus has been written into the script for WrestleMania 31. There was no update from the site as to what the Celtic Warrior’s role will be on the show.
Previous rumors suggested that he may be added to the Intercontinental Title ladder match, or that he would enter (and possibly win) the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Of course, there are also ways for him to make his return that do not involve him being put into a match, including run-ins or a promo or vignette.

Sheamus To Make Return at WrestleMania?

According to Reddit user and WWE insider MetsFan4Ever, there are two proposed ideas for Sheamus to make a surprise return at WrestleMania. The first would see him come back as an entrant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, with the other being him put in the Intercontinental Title ladder match, with both being surprise returns.
The idea would be for Sheamus to get cheered when he’s announced as a surprise in the Intercontinental Title match, but that he would “heel it up” during the match which would set up a potential title feud with Daniel Bryan should either of them win.

WWE Keeping Another Superstar Off TV Until WrestleMania 31, Backstage Update On The Undertaker

Regarding speculation that WWE may have changed plans for The Undertaker and could bring him to RAW now that Bray Wyatt's WrestleMania 31 challenge has been accepted, word coming out of last night's RAW is that those plans have not changed. The plan as of today is to still keep The Undertaker away until his entrance at WrestleMania.

Another Superstar we won't see until WrestleMania 31 is Sheamus. WWE has been airing return vignettes for Sheamus for several weeks now but the current plan is to have his first appearance be at WrestleMania. There's still no word yet on what match he will be working but it likely will be the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match or the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Hype For Sheamus' Return Begins

WWE aired a vignette on tonight's RAW for the return of Sheamus. It did not say exactly when Sheamus will be returning but it will be soon.

ECW Originals, Sheamus Not Set For the Royal Rumble?

According to PWInsider (via WZ), it is unlikely that Sheamus or the ECW Originals will be in the Royal Rumble match. Sheamus is not scheduled to be in Philadelphia and Rob Van Dam is believed to be the only ECW name bring brought in.

The reason for the ECW move is that WWE officials don’t want some of the ECW guys receiving bigger reactions due to the Philly crowd than their regular Superstars. WWE executive Kevin Dunn is also not an ECW fan and doesn’t think it is important enough to pay tribute to in the Rumble.

Opinionated View- Disappointed we won't see Sheamus but thrilled we wont' see ECW guys. WWE has over used nostalgia pops way to much. And its long over due to let ECW just stay dead.

Is Sheamus Returning on Smackdown This Week?

There's talk that Sheamus may return to action at tomorrow night's WWE SmackDown tapings in Austin, Texas.
The idea is that Sheamus returning on SmackDown would be a way to promote the move to Thursday nights.We've noted that WWE may be bringing Sheamus back as a heel and it looks like they're sticking to that plan.

Sheamus Possibly Returning as a Heel

Sheamus is returning to the US this weekend after spending the holidays at home in Ireland recovering from surgery. There is no word on what the surgery was specifically; the storyline when he was put out of action said that he suffered a stinger in his arm, bone spurring, narrowing of the spinal canal and narrowing of the nerve canals along with nerve compression in his neck.
There is some talk within the company that he will be coming back as a heel for the road to WrestleMania 31.

Sheamus Undergoes Surgery

While it was said earlier this week that Sheamus's injuries reported by WWE.com after this past Monday's 11/17 WWE RAW were part of a storyline, Sheamus, earlier today, posted the following photo on Twitter of an impending surgery:

"Here we go, wish me luck! #undertheknife #repairthebod #asslikekim"

It appears that Sheamus's storyline injuries on RAW were a way to write him off TV for the time being.

Why Sheamus/Rusev Worked Twice

The US title match between Rusev and Sheamus was originally set to happen at the Survivor Series, but a decision was made at the last minute to air it on the WWE Network instead. The RAW script was already written to feature Sheamus vs Tyson Kidd and Rusev vs Zack Ryder. Instead of hurrying to re-book the segments, they just had Sheamus and Rusev work twice.

WWE Planning Next Feud for Rusev (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

WWE creative is reportedly having discussions of a feud between Rusev and Sheamus for the WWE United States title. The feud would happen after Rusev wraps up his current one with Big Show.

The feud would reportedly see Rusev win the title from Sheamus in order to allow Rusev to get heat from bragging about being the US champion.

Opinionated View- Just shows how little I care about the US title I actually for Sheamus had it. I really am disappointed as I thought Rusev has potential but he just hasn't developed. Part of that is he's been facing guys with zero talent like Big E and Henry. It also doesn't help no one cars about doing a 1980's US vs Russian feud.

Already announced for the show is WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena in a Summerslam rematch.
