Christian Officially Retired From the Ring

According to PWInsider, Jerry Lawler referring to both Edge & Christian as “retired” on Raw wasn’t an error. Christian has been pulled from the ring due to the series of injuries and concussions he suffered during his current run and is considered retired as an in-ring performer.
The site adds that he has “about a year” on his current deal with WWE.

Opinionated View- I wish he could have gotten that last great run in but I think it's time when you get injured that often call it a career and move onto the next stage of life.

Edge and Christian to Guest Host Next Week’s Raw

- During tonight’s Raw, WWE announced that former WWE tag team champions Edge and Christian will host next week’s episode. It is the final edition of Raw for 2014.
Raw will be held at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC on December 29.

WWE Hall of Famer, NXT star booked for RAW tapings

NXT Women's Champion Charlotte and WWE Hall of Famer Edge have been booked for upcoming editions of RAW later this month according to a report by Mike Johnson. Charlotte has been booked for the 12/22 RAW in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while Edge, along with WWE star Christian, have been booked for the 12/29 RAW in Washington, DC. It is believed that Edge & Christian will be appearing as the guest general managers for that episode of RAW.

Christian Expected To Be At Smackdown Taping

WWE performer Christian is expected to be at tonight's 11/4 WWE Smackdown tapings in Albany, New York for the episode to air on 11/7 according to a report by Mike Johnson. Christian has not appeared in a wrestling capacity for WWE since March of this year and has been off & on in wrestling for the company since sustaining a number of injuries over the last couple of years. While he has been cleared to return to the ring for a couple of months now, WWE has been using Christian in non-wrestling appearances more recently.

Update On Christian & If He'll Ever Return As Wrestler

Christian has been cleared for a return to wrestling but WWE doesn't have any plans for him at the moment. There have been some detractors backstage saying that Christian is "too fragile" to invest in long-term. He may not even return as a wrestler.

Opinionated View- I'm not very high Christian these days but WWE keeps trying invest in Mark Henry who gets hurt all the time. Same with Cena who seems to go down at least once a year.

Update on Christian's Status

Christian has been cleared to return to the ring after he suffered a mild concussion during the episode of RAW in Brooklyn. He has been at AXXESS this week signing autographs.

Injury Update on Christian – What’s His Future With WWE?

At this time, there looks to be talk that Christian's career as an in ring performer for WWE could be over. Christian won a four way match on RAW this week and was set to challenge for the IC Title on Main Event, but had to be pulled after suffering a "slight concussion".

Word is that Christian could retire as an in ring performer when his current contract expires. There have reportedly been talks of retirement prior to this week, due to Christian being 40, creative not really having much for him and also due to his injury history over the last few years. The concussion on Monday was the second one he suffered this year.

There is talk that if he does retire that he would make a great trainer down in NXT, if he is interested in that position.

Why Christian Was Pulled From Main Event

Christian was pulled from tonight's 3/25 WWE Main Event taping in Boston as he was diagnosed with a minor concussion according to a report by Dave Meltzer. He suffered the concussion following last night's match on RAW to determine a new No. 1 Contender for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He will remain out of action until he can pass Impact testing. This is the second concussion Christian has suffered in a short period of time.

He is advertised for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 30.

Rumors on Changes and Potential Additions Being Made to WWE Elimination Chamber Today (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

WWE officials are reportedly discussing the possibility of removing Christian from the Elimination Chamber PPV tonight. However, according to a report by F4WOnline.com, Brock Lesnar will not be the person to replace Christian if this plan goes through.

In addition, it's also possible that a Divas title match will be added to the card. The original plan was for AJ Lee to face Naomi, but that was scrapped due to Naomi's injury. Cameron vs. AJ could now take place instead. It's also possible Natalya could wrestle AJ, since Natalya has been tweeting about training for the card tonight

2/21 WWE Smackdown Results

Daniel Bryan vs Jack Swagger (w/ Zeb Colter & Cesaro)

Bryan applies a side headlock but Swagger whips him, then Bryan knees him off the ropes and repeatedly kicks him in the corner. He connects with a diving clothesline and a running corner dropkick, then hits a second before setting up a third, only to have Swagger roll outside. Bryan dropkicks him through the ropes and tries to dive on him, but Swagger catches him and throws him shoulder first into the barricade. Swagger whips him back into the barricade and press slams him into the ringpost, then he rolls him in and gets a near fall. Swagger targets Bryan's injured shoulder before kneeing him a few times, then he applies a hammerlock and suplexes him but Bryan surprises him with a running knee for the win.

Winner – Daniel Bryan

Vickie Guerrero and Kane come out after the match, and Vickie congratulates him before telling him he has to fight Cesaro too, and it's right now.

Daniel Bryan vs Cesaro (w/ Zeb Colter & Jack Swagger)

Cesaro slams Bryan and stomps on his shoulder, then Bryan drop toe holds him into the corner and kicks him a few times. Bryan sets him on the turnbuckles but Cesaro connects with a falling knee strike on his shoulder, then he scoop slams him and double stomps Bryan's shoulder. Cesaro slams him in the corner and puts him in an armbar, but Bryan flips him over the ropes and sends him to the floor. Bryan hits a suicide dive that sends Cesaro into the commentary table, then he tries to roll him in but Cesaro kicks him off the apron. Swagger starts walking towards Bryan with a chair, but the referee catches him and throws him out, then sends Zeb with him for arguing.

We get back from a break to see Cesaro set Bryan up top, but Bryan shoves him and hits a missile dropkick before repeatedly kicking Cesaro in the chest. Cesaro catches his leg on the last one and gets him in the Giant Swing, then Bryan tries to steal a rollup before Cesaro kicks out and connects with a Very European uppercut. Bryan kicks out of a pin and surprises Cesaro with a running knee, but Kane leaves commentary and chokeslams him to cause a disqualification. Kane gets a mic and announces the match result, then Cesaro hits a Neutralizer before leaving.

Rey Mysterio & The Brotherhood vs The Wyatt Family

Cody hits Harper a few times before he gets thrown in the corner, then Rowan tags in but Goldust gets a quick tag and sends him into the corner. Rowan hits a fallaway slam before Bray uppercuts Goldust, then he whips him into the corner and hits a clothesline off the ropes. We get back from a break to see Goldust send Harper to the mat before Cody tags in, and he sends Harper over the ropes before Rey splashes him on the floor. Rey hurricanranas him into the apron before sending him inside, then he hits the ropes but Harper takes him down with a lariat.

Bray punches Rey in the corner before Rowan hits a sidewalk slam, then Harper elbows Rey before Bray splashes him in the corner. Bray charges him in the corner but Rey drop toe holds him into the turnbuckles, then Rowan gets a tag but Rey kicks him in the face. Goldust hits an atomic drop after a tag, then he connects with a spinebuster before hitting a springboard crossbody off the top turnbuckle. Goldust punches Rowan and Rey hits a 619, then Goldust hits a powerslam but only gets two. Rey dives at Harper but Harper catches him, then Cody dives on him as Goldust bulldogs Rowan and sets him up for Shattered Dreams. Bray runs in off of a blind tag and elbows Goldust in the face, then he connects with Sister Abigail for the win.

Renee Young introduces Santino Marella and Emma, and Fandango and Summer Rae, for a dance contest, then Summer Rae goes first and does some ballroom dance. Emma goes next and does her trademark dance, so Summer Rae gets pissed and says she wasn't ready. She tells them to play Fandango's music and they dance around, but Emma goes next and dance to her theme while Santino gyrates in the corner. Renee asks for a fan vote and Emma wins, then Summer Rae tries to attack but Emma throws her out of the ring. Fandango hits Santino from behind and dances for Emma, but Emma shoves Fandango and makes him trip over Santino before they flirt with each other.

Dolph Ziggler vs Titus O'Neil

Titus hiptosses Dolph but Dolph bounces off the ropes and kicks him, then Titus throws him across the ring and taunts Darren Young at commentary. Titus chops Dolph in the corner, then Dolph connects with some mounted punches and a neckbreaker before Titus throws him to the mat. Darren grabs a missile and distracts Titus by standing on the commentary table, then Dolph steals it with a rollup and Darren blows the whistle as he taunts Titus on the ramp.

Winner – Dolph Ziggler

Road Dogg (w/ Billy Gunn) vs Jimmy Uso (w/ Jey Uso)

Road Dogg snapmares Jimmy and applies a headlock, then he jabs him a few times but Jimmy hits a full nelson bomb before Road Dogg rolls outside. Road Dogg takes a cheap shot and sets up a pump handle slam, but Jimmy floats over and hits a superkick for the win.

Winner – Jimmy Uso

Sheamus vs Christian

Sheamus hits a shoulder block off the ropes, then Christian applies a waistlock but Sheamus breaks it so Christian throws some elbows. Sheamus fights right back with some strikes, then he sets up for a powerslam but Christian throws him outside and sets up a suicide dive. Christian jumps but Sheamus avoids him, then he hits a rolling fireman's carry on the floor as we go to a break. We get back to see Sheamus knee Christian, then Christian drop toe holds him into ropes before they spill outside. Sheamus sends Christian into the barricade, but Christian kicks him over it before Sheamus slams Christian chest first into the barriacde. They end up back inside and Christian kicks Sheamus into the corner, then he knees him a few times and puts him into an armbar.

Sheamus breaks it before Christian sets up a Killswitch, but Sheamus shoves him away so Christian heads up top. Sheamus throws him to the mat and clubs him a few times, then he connects with a powerslam for two before Christian hits a tornado DDT. Christian hops the ropes and goes for an uppercut but Sheamus clubs his chest, then he pulls him back in the ring but Christian throws him into the ringpost. Sheamus comes back with two backbreakers, then he calls for a Brogue Kick but Christian rolls outside and tries to catch him with a cheap shot. Sheamus avoids it but Christian catches him with an elbow, then he sets a Killswitch but Sheamus counters with White Noise for the win.

Winner – Sheamus

Is Christian Getting Ready to Leave the WWE?

It was previously reported that when his contract ends that Alberto Del Rio will be leaving the WWE. It appears that he may not be alone. There are reports that many do not expect Christian to stay with the WWE once his contract expires. Christian is 40, and there is a feeling that WWE creative isn't going to do anything significant with him. There were even reports last week that that if WWE finds someone "more important" than him, that they would replace him in the Elimination Chamber match.

Opinionated View- Sadly outside of his short run with the world championship witch was mainly due to the face he was Edge's buddy WWE has done nothing with him.

Update on WWE’s Creative Plans for the Elimination Chamber Match (SPOILERS)

- At this time, the Elimination Chamber match is set to feature Randy Orton defending against John Cena, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro and Christian. Christian's spot in the match is said to not be completely locked in at this time. If WWE decides that they have a better angle/wrestler to take the spot, they will run an injury angle and Christian will be the man removed from the match.

- The reason that Christian hasn't return yet is because he hasn't been cleared by doctors after the concussion he received a couple of months ago. The plan is for him to return to WWE television by early December.

Christian updates his medical status at NXT taping

The "bonus track" for October 10's NXT taping in Orlando was a Peep Show with guest Alberto Del Rio, and both stars got great receptions. Christian even responded to chants for a 5-second pose by saying it wouldn't feel right to do it alone, and had the crowd join him, which everyone did. Cool moment.

Prior to interviewing Del Rio, Christian said he saw the doctor that day and was not medically cleared to compete. 

Christian put over The Shield big time, saying it was their fault for the off-screen beatdown he suffered on Raw in front of his family, his best friend Edge, and in his hometown.

Days After His Return Is Advertised Christian Pulled From Live Events

WWE has removed Christian from advertising for the weekend live events in Providence and Philadelphia. He was scheduled to challenge Alberto Del Rio for the World Hvt. Championship on both shows, but he has been replaced by The Great Khali in those matches. Christian has also been pulled from the upcoming tour of Mexico.

Opinionated View- I hate to this because I loved Christian for so long but he's turned into another Rey or Henry a guy that's always hurt. And Khali vs Del Rio dear lord I beg you don't make that a TV feud.

- The angle where the Shield brought out a beaten Christian was done to get heat on Triple H and his current regime.

- Christian is currently out of action due to suffering a concussion. He will not be back in the ring until cleared by the WWE medical team.

Opinionated View- Santino's back and who cares? The guy used to funny but now he's just bland and stale. I feel bad that Christian is out but its not like WWE was using him all that well he was tossed into a title feud with no build and dropped out with no new feud.

Another Injury on Raw Last Night

WWE.com reported today that Christian suffered a concussion on the 8/26 edition of Raw, during his match with Randy Orton. He is still suffering from symptoms and when they clear up, WWE will be performing tests on him later this week at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
