Batista Still Under Contract With WWE

While Batista hasn’t appeared for WWE since June, he’s actually still under contract with the company. However, since he is currently working in Hollywood (including the James Bond film Spectre), he won’t be coming back to WWE TV any time soon.

Three Top WWE Stars To Be Back By WrestleMania, Latest On Plans for Roman Reigns

WWE was allegedly planning to build up Roman Reigns over the next several months with a Rumble win and WrestleMania 31 main event in mind. His emergency hernia surgery could alter those plans, as he’s expected to be out for a few months. It’s believed that in even a “worst case scenario” he will be back in time for the Rumble. Barring any complications or a slower healing process, he is still on track to get pushed before WrestleMania 31. With Reigns out, the plan is to push Dean Ambrose as the #2 babyface for now.
Daniel Bryan is also expected to make his return around the same time as Reigns. Batista will likely be back in time for WrestleMania, possibly for a “farewell run” now that his Hollywood career is doing well.
Opinionated View- I doubt Batista will come back because his Hollywood career just took off. Reigns just isn't' ready for the big push they are giving him. Let's hope Bryan is able to stay healthy.

Update on Batista’s Growing Hollywood Career – Will He Be Back With WWE?

- Following the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, word is that Marvel is restructuring Batista's contract. Pwinsider.com (via WrestleZone) reports that the new deal will be for more money and result in more movie appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. These roes would include appearances in the second Guardians of the Galaxy and the third Avengers films. He also has other offers from outside of Marvel coming in, and is already set to be one of the main stars in the Kickboxer remake.

In regards to his future in wrestling, Batista's people reportedly don't want him to have any involvement with WWE. The feeling is that WWE did not handle his return well, and did not allow him to use enough of his own ideas to help get himself over. He has been talking with WWE, but the belief is that wrestling will stay second to his movie career.

Opinionated View- Well Batista doesn't return I better sell my stocks in Skinny Jean makers. WWE didn't book him well but its as also better clear he didn't care at all. Its just best he leaves. We already have a guy that pops up and doesn't give a damn so you don't want to be Jericho

Batista May Not Be Coming Back To WWE Thanks to The Success of Guardians of the Galaxy

Due to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, there was a lot of talk backstage at RAW that Batista may not be coming back to the WWE. He left WWE months ago to begin promoting the film and the plan was for him to come back once he was done. However, this was supposed to be around Summerslam and that didn't happen. The word is that Batista may not be back at all if he gets more movie offers.

Another reason he may not come back is that he would risk getting injured, which could hurt the chances of getting movie roles. He's already set to appear in the Guardians sequel and the Kickboxer remake, and it's likely that more movie roles will come after the success. He's no longer being looked at as an actor who appears in low budget independent films and is in a situation similar to The Rock was early in his career. The feeling is that movie studios may be less likely to hire him if he's actively wrestling.

Opinionated View- Oh no if Batista doesn't come back that will leave Jericho as the only guy that has to come back to make real money because his acting career has never taken off. I know the WWE will see this as a huge loss but its not his run this year sucked and he didn't give a damn.

Original Plans For Batista

The original booking plans for Batista (Dave Baustia) in WWE was for him to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 31, have a short run and then leave in the summer to start promotion for "Guardians of the Galaxy" according to a report by Dave Meltzer. WWE was said to be big on bringing him in for a run around the time of the release of the film. Batista is not advertised for any TV tapings, PPV events or live events going forward.

Opinionated View- All I can say is thank god that never happened.

More on Last Night’s Raw Script Change

- As previously reported, Daniel Bryan was originally slated to face Batista in the script for last night's Raw. That was changed to Bryan vs. Del Rio. Another version of the script had Batista wrestling Roman Reigns, with Reigns getting the victory.

- Evolution was originally announced to be the timekeepers for the Wyatt Family vs. The Shield match, but was changed because the feeling was that the ending of the show would be too predictable with them out there.

Change Made to Raw Script

- Daniel Bryan was originally slated to face Batista in the script for tonight's Raw. That was changed sometime during the day to have him face Alberto Del Rio.

Batista Reportedly Upset With WWE Over Money Issues

Batista is reportedly upset over money and pay in WWE.

As previously reported, the original plan was for Batista to face Daniel Bryan at WWE Payback in June, which Batista allegedly turned down. The report says that Batista is frustrated that financially, things are panning out differently than what he was told when he agreed to return to WWE. Word is that the money is "not great" right now, and when you have the kind of money Batista has, it makes it that much easier to walk away from WWE. Others are said to be upset, but do not have the option to walk away like Batista or CM Punk.

Batista was scheduled to take the time off later in June, but with the issues, he decided to take an earlier break from the company. WWE officials spent most of Sunday trying to convince Batista to work the Payback PPV, but the latest is that it doesn't look good for him to stick around for that show.

Opinionated View- Well first if this was TNA everyone would be saying "Its dying." But what has Batista done to earn a big paycheck? He's flopped since coming back.

Update on Batista’s Status and the Possible WWE Payback Main Event

- Here is the latest on the main event for the WWE Payback PPV. Vince McMahon still wants Daniel Bryan vs. Batista as the main event for the show, even though he took the loss in the six-man tag vs. the Shield. Batista is scheduled for tonight's Raw, but is then scheduled to take time off.

If McMahon cannot convince Batista to stay around for the Payback main event with Daniel Bryan, the plan is to move forward with Daniel Bryan vs. Kane in a Buried Alive match. This was the reason that the PPV went off the air with Kane sitting up after the loss and setting off his pyro.

Opinionated View- Kane getting another title shot in one of the most boring stipulation matches ever doesn't excitement. But neither does Batista getting a shot.

Batista Set To Say With WWE?

- As previously reported, it was expected within WWE that Batista would be done for the time being after this week's TV tapings after he had turned down a storyline that would see him losing at Payback before he took off to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. That may not be the case anymore.

PWInsider reports that several people backstage at Extreme Rules say that Batista was suggesting that he will stay on with the company through Payback after all. Obviously, we'll know more following Extreme Rules and Raw to see what direction they're taking creatively.

Opinionated View- Well that sucks. I want Batista gone ASAP.

Original Plans For Daniel Bryan And Batista At WWE Payback

Batista is currently only scheduled for Extreme Rules, followed by the WWE Raw and Smackdown tapings in Albany, NY and Buffalo, NY. After that he will take time off to promote Guardians of the Galaxy. WWE knew he was leaving for that reason but this is earlier than the company expected.

The original plan was for Batista to face Daniel Bryan at WWE Payback in June. Batista turned it down because he didn't think losing to someone as small as Bryan would help him be remembered when he comes back. He also didn't think it would be good to help promote his movie. Of course, Batista has already lost to Daniel Bryan, as he tapped out to the Yes Lock at Wrestlemania XXX.

Since Batista turned the Payback plans now, there are no other plans in place and that's probably why he will leave earlier than planned. There is no word on how this will affect Evolution. Batista is set to return before Summerslam.

Opinionated View- Screw you Batista if this is true. Bryan actually over right now. And so what if he is smaller than you. Given you study BJJ you should know Smaller Guys can beat bigger guys.

Batista's Current WWE Run About to End

Batista (Dave Bautista) will be working tomorrow's Extreme Rules PPV in East Rutheford, the RAW taping on Monday in Albany and the Smackdown taping on Tuesday in Buffalo. These are scheduled to be his final scheduled appearances with WWE for some time going forward.
As reported earlier, he will be taking time off to help promote "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Opinionated View- If I were booking since they want to to push Reigns to the moon. I would Reigns take out Batista and than when he comes back he jumps Reigns and "Injures" him leading to a big one on one match.

Batista Taking Time Off Following Extreme Rules?

Batista is currently not advertised for any WWE shows after Extreme Rules, suggesting that he'll be taking time off after the event. He of course has his role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy as Drax the Destroyer to promote, and with that film opening on August 1st he has some promotional work that he will have to do.

Batista is currently scheduled to team with his Evolution stablemates against the Shield at the PPV.

Opinionated View- I'm torn on the one side a lack of Batista is a good thing. On the other hand he just came back is it so hard to have full time guys?

Backstage Reaction to Batista’s Return

There has been a lot of discussion among the producers in regards to the return of Batista. Many have tried to avoid discussing it during meetings, since Triple H pushed hard for his return and many feel as it has been a flop thus far. Word is that Batista had his first good weekend on the road, and that he has finally adjusted to the fan's reaction to his return. A source close to the situation had the following to say about the situation…

"Now that Batista is a heel and they're not running from the BOOTISTA taunts, WWE feels they can play into that."

Opinionated View- Of course they will come up with any BS reason to put Batisita in the title picture.

Details on Incident Between Batista and Local DJ at WWE House Show in Winnipeg

There was reportedly an incident at the WWE house show in Winnipeg, Manitoba between Batista and a local DJ who was sitting at ringside. The person in question was a local morning DJ, Cam Carson, who works for Power 97 in Winnipeg. The station was promoting the show and was listed as a sponsor for the event.

According to a live report, Batista was seen jawing with Carson before a match. When Batista returned to the ring, Carson hit Batista in the back/shoulder area. This then led to Batista forcefully shoving him down. Carson then reportedly tried to jump the railing but was stopped and spoken to by security, who then allowed him to remain. Batista then wrestled a match against Big Show.

Later on, Batista flipped off Carson as he passed him while circling the ring. Carson then started "losing it" and tried to jump the railing again, at which point he was walked out by security. It's not been confirmed if this was a publicity stunt or legitimate. WWE performers who physically interact with fans in an aggressive way can call for a fine from the company. Mark Henry previously said it was a $10,000 fine during an interview.

New Match Set For Tonight's WWE Raw

WWE.com has announced that Daniel Bryan will face Batista on tonight's (3/3) WWE RAW live from Chicago, Illinois. Tonight's show will also include The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family in an Elimination Chamber return match, plus appearances by Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker.

Opinionated View- Don't get to excited. Batista's gimmick now is he is going to kill all the heroes of the IWC so I full expect this to be a one sided squash match.

Details on Batista’s Heel Turn Originally Being Slated for Raw Last Week

- PWInsider reports that the Batista heel turn was set to originally take place on last week's Raw. The segment ended up being scaled back, and the heel turn was saved for Smackdown. The original plan was to have Orton interrupt Batista on Raw, as he did, and then cost Batista his match against Alberto Del Rio. Orton was supposed to talk about how the fans like Orton much more than they do Batista. That would've been Batista's breaking point, and he would then go off on the WWE Universe. Orton would've been credited with "Unleashing the Beast."

On the following show, WWE reportedly thought about having Batista slowly turn heel in segments over the course of the next few weeks, but due to the reaction he was getting from the live crowds, WWE decided to go ahead with the heel turn on Smackdown.

Opinionated View- See here is the problem WWE doesn't get we aren't' booing Batista because we want to see Orton beat him up. We are booing him because we don't want him in the main event of mania.
