Cody Rhodes to undergo surgery for torn meniscus following NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13

Cody Rhodes revealed on Friday the MRI results for his knee is one vertical and one horizontal tear on the medial meniscus, which put him out of in-ring action for at least six weeks.

Earlier this month we reported that Cody had stated on his Twitter that during the ROH Global Wars show in Buffalo while he was teasing tossing a shirt into the crowd he “heard a loud pop” in his knee.

We also previously reported that Cody stated following a doctor visit that his MCL/PCL/ACL appeared to be “structurally sound” but his knee appeared to be damaged and would require a scope.

Rhodes is planning on having the surgery following a match he still plans to wrestle at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 event at the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2019 that has yet to be announced.

Rhodes will be rehabbing his knee leading up to his match at Ring of Honor’s Final battle on December 14 in New York where he is still scheduled to face Jay Lethal for the the ROH World Championship.

Rhodes also said he will be at all of his advertised bookings, including an Australian tour later this month for World Series Wrestling for meet and greets only, and that he won’t be wrestling.
