We’re welcomed to the show as Jerry Lawler is in the ring. He puts over the recent King of the Ring tournament. He mentions how one needs strength, determination, and ambition to win it. He then introduces the winner, King Barrett. I miss the God save the queen thing during his entrance. But, I suppose it wouldn’t make sense to do that with him being a king and all. We get a Jerry chant for some reason. Barrett takes exception to Jerry Lawler being “a king.” According to Barrett, there’s only one king in WWE, and it certainly isn’t Lawler. He calls the crowd commoners that need to say the following four words: “All hail, King Barrett.” He really runs down Lawler, saying the trailer parks of Memphis have no castles and that the only throne he’s worthy to sit on is the toilet. He tries to force Lawler to hail Barrett, but he refuses. Barrett threatens violence. Dolph Ziggler to the rescue. We have our first match of the night.
Bad News Barrett vs. Dolph Ziggler
Barrett gets the first knock down, followed by kingly taunts. Barrett puts the boots to Ziggler in the corner. Suplex by Barrett, followed by a knee drop. Barrett sends Ziggler into the ropes. Ducks for the back body drop attempt. Ziggler reads it and responds with an upward swinging kick to Barrett’s chest, followed with one of Ziggler’s nice dropkicks. KB rolls out of the ring as we head to commercial.
-Commercial Break-
Back to the show, they’re trading blows. Barrett gets the better of Ziggler. Barrett with a sleeper down on the mat. Barrett takes out Ziggler with a kick off the turnbuckle. Jaw breaker by Ziggler. Winds of change by Barrett. Impressive. At this point they’re pretty much trading moves back-and-forth. Barrett taunts, telling the crowd to bow down. Famesser by Ziggler! Sheamus comes in and breaks up the pin.
Winner via DQ: Dolph Ziggler
Heavy boots to Ziggler. Double team. Neville comes in to even the odds. Sheamus still has that nice dandelion-colored shiner.
-Commercial Break-
Dolph Ziggler & Neville vs. Bad News Barrett & Sheamus
We now have a tag team match. Sheamus is in the ring with Neville. Big time European feel to this match. Irish curse by Sheamus. Sheamus tags in Barrett. Backbreaker on “don’t call me Adrian” Neville.. Full on babyface in peril mode is in effect. Frequent tags by the big Europeans. ANOTHER backbreaker to Neville. They’re really working the back. A 10 beats of the bowery attempt on Neville only gets to 4 before Neville counters with a neckbreaker over the top rope. Neville sends Sheamus into the corner very athletically. I don’t know what to call what I just saw. Dual tags. Dolph with momentum on KB. Jumping DDT on KB. Kickout at 2. Barely. I like Dolph’s new hair. Less Ramen-noodley, but still unique. Superkick on KB. KB kicks out. Brogue kick misses. Flying Neville leap from the ring to the outside on KB. Do they have a name for that maneuver yet? Zig Zag on Barrett. 3!
Winners: Dolph Ziggler & Neville
-Commercial Break-
We’re back and Renee Young is with Dean Ambrose. He says he embraces the chaos of a fatal 4-way match.
-Commercial Break-
We’ve got eyes. Big, creepy eyes. Here comes Luke Harper. Out comes his opponent, Fandango.
Luke Harper vs. Fandango
What a culture clash. Fandango is Fangangoing. Harper does it for a moment before hitting a MOSNTER boot. I guess Fandango is the face in this match. Crowd dies the second the bell rings. Chops by Fandango, followed by a dropkick. Poor looking spinning heel kick from ‘Dango. Tornado DDT out of no where on Harper. He damn near no sells it as he gets right up and tosses ‘Dango off the top rope as he went for his big leg drop. This match is clearly rushed. Discus clothesline. For the 3 count. SO rushed.
Winner: Luke Harper
Erik Rowan’s music hits. We have a stare down before Erik Rowan kicks the crap out of Fandango. Full nelson slam. The former Wyatt Family brothers stare each other down. Perhaps a reunion is on the horizon?
-Commercial Break-
We’re back, and Lana is in the ring, looking quite ravishing. She gets a big Lana chant. She thanks them, but asks for them not to chant for her since it angers Rusev. That gets boos. Here comes Rusev who sends her to the back. That makes the fans sad. Rusev says Cena’s victories have all been flukes. Then he talks in Russian a bit. Or is it Bulgarian? He says the mercy Cena showed Sami compassion, which is a weakness. He says he will make Cena say the words, I quit before the Russian flag comes down.
Renee Young is with Roman Reigns who gets some fake piped in cheers. He says the only person he can stand in the match is Ambrose who’s like a brother, but he won’t let anyone stand in his way.
-Commercial Break-
Here comes the New Day who gets mostly boos. But there are a couple cuties dancing to their theme in the front row. Out comes Tyson and Cesaro. Big fan right here. But I will say, Beats headphones are pieces of crap. Ryback is the mystery third man.
The New Day vs. Cesaro, Tyson Kidd & Ryback
Action fast and furious everywhere. Too fast to recap, really. There’s a nice spot where all members of the New Day get vertical suplexes, but Tyson kid should have hurried up to pick up Kofi. He was a bit late to the party. But it was a fun spot. Tyson with a diving roll to the outside taking out Kofi. Cesaro takes out Xavier. Ryback takes out Big E. Feed me more chant. “New Day sucks” chant. Much love for Tyson here. Big E runs Tyson back and forth to the barricade and apron over and over. It was pretty brutal.
-Commercial Break-
Big E is in control of Tyson. Huge belly-to-belly overhead suplex. Tag to Ryback who cleans house. Huge spinebuster on Kofi. Feed me more chant as R-back calls for the meat hook clothesline. It gets interrupted. Overhead ‘plex on Kofi. Cesaro goes nuts on Kofi with European uppercuts. Tag to Tyson who climbs up onto the shoulders of Cesaro. He leaps and connects with an elbow. Pin attempt broken up. Match has broken down. The Bray Wyatt effect flashes. Cesaro and Big E botch a tornado DDT attempt on the outside. Kofi pins Tyson out of nowhere.
Winners: The New Day
Renee Young with Randy Orton. He doesn’t lose sleep over strategy. He'll hit whosever closest to him. Even if it’s Vince McMahon. The odds aren’t against him, because he’s taken out a former shield member tonight.
-Commercial Break-
Emma is already in the ring.
Naomi vs. Emma
Naomi punches Emma down. Suplex. Nice kip up by Naomi. Eye burn on the ropes. Dropkick by Naomi to Emma. Pin. Out at 2. Backslide reversals left and right. It looks like two person yoga. Rear view for the win.
Winner: Naomi
Naomi feeds Emma into a superkick to Tamina after the match.
They plug Tough Enough.
-Commercial Break-
Renee Young is with Seth Rollins and J&J Security. Seth says he makes the impossible possible. He proved himself at WM. Renee stirs the pot mentioning Kane said his success is all thanks the authority. Seth calls Kane irrelevant and jealous. He says he has something Kane has never had. His intelligence. Seth says he’s the man and the future is now. Comically, Joey Mercury looks Renee up and down, as if checking her out, as the gang leaves.
Los Matadors are in the ring. But here come the Lucha Dragons. Lucha time. Here we go.
The Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores
Huuricanranca. Springboard head-drag into a headlock. Kalisto won’t let go. Senton from Sin Cara. He’s called a veteran by Byron Saxton, which I found a little odd. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Punches from Fernando. El Torito with a jumping Centon. Action way too fast and furious to recap. Double suplex on Sin Cara from Los Matadors. Olympic Slam from Diego onto Sin Cara!! Both guys make tags. Corkscrew dive. Listo kick. Hurricanrana right into the mat. Springboard kick off the ropes. Botched dive. Sunset flip off ropes. Sin Cara misses with swanton. Rolls through. Then gets Diego with a rolling rollup of all things to end it.
Winners: The Lucha Dragons
Los Matadors push down El Torito in frustration!
-Commercial Break-
We come back and Kane is in the ring with a desk and four chairs. He introduces the competitors. 1st Randy Orton. Then Roman Reigns. Say this, but the crowd DOES react to him. Here’s Dean Ambrose. Then finally, Seth comes out with J&J Security.
Dean cuts off Kane and calls Seth Rollins just Beiber. Seth disses Roman’s attempt at trying to form sentences. Roman responds with a poor sentence about kicking ass. “Randy” chant, from out of nowhere. I guess he’s big in Canada now.
After some more smack talk, Dean calls dibs on putting someone through the table. He throws Joey Mercury into the table which is now propped up in the corner, but it doesn’t break! Joey very comically slides right down it. A full on crawl breaks out. Noble gets beaned by an office chair that was thrown from inside the ring to the outside. That looked quite painful. Kane with a choke slam attempt which is interrupted by a Roman Reigns superman punch. Seth slips out of an RKO attempt. Dean and Roman are pushing each other in the ring. RKO on Dean!! Superman punch on Randy! Flying knee from the top from Seth Rollins to Roman! Followed by a nice superkick as Roman was resting on his knees.
The show ends with Rollins as the last man standing. He taunts with the championship title belt as we go off the air.
