5/13 WWE NXT Results

NXT kicks off with a great video recap of Sami Zayn answering John Cena’s U.S. Championship challenge on Raw two weeks ago.
(1) Baron Corbin vs. Solomon Crowe. Corbin dominates the entire match from the start. The announces even start mocking the match, calling Crowe a “ping pong ball”. The crowd completely turns on it, chanting “Baron’s Gonna Bore You” and giving them some loud “boring” chants. Crowe has a brief comeback with a few stiff kicks, but he springboards into the End of Days for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Baron Corbin
-Rhyno comes down after the match. He calls him the “other unstoppable force” in NXT and again lays down the challenge for a match at Takeover. Corbin throws a right hand – I’m assuming that’s his response – and the two get into a brawl before a dozen guys come out from the locker room to separate them. Rhyno starts goring everyone in sight.

Finn Balor does a sit-down interview, talking about the “demon” inside of him that will come out at Takoever. He’s all red and blown up; looks like he took a massive hit of something before sitting down.

(2) Sasha Banks vs. KC Cassidy. KC is one of the newer developmental Divas who doesn’t even have a name yet. The crowd calls her “black trunks”. She tries for a backslide pin and a roll-up early on and almost steals one, but Banks controls from then out and wins it with the Bank Statement.
Winner: Sasha Banks
-Charlotte and Bayley do a backstage interview, calling out Emma and Dana Brooke for a match at NXT Takeover.
-The same video package for Uhaa Nation runs, but with more detail this time. They show him running into a dressed down Crowe backstage, and working out a bit in the ring. Coming soon. Still no WWE name.

(3) Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss. Short match. Bliss picks up the win with the Sparkle Splash.

-NXT tag champs Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy come down and get in the ring with Carmella. They call Enzo and Big Cass trash. Apparently Carmella has chosen her side, as she goes full-blown Enzo promo, getting a big “how you doin?” chant started. “After you two pathetic pigs lose your titles to my boys, there’s only gonna be one word to describe you, and I’m gonna spell it out for you!” This is easily the best work Carmella has done since joining NXT.

(4) Hideo Itami & Finn Balor vs. Adam Rose & Tyler Breeze. Could they really not find anyone else from the actual NXT roster to team with Breeze? Welcome back, Rose. Itami and Balor work him over controlling the first couple of minutes. After a brief ad break, Rose is back in control after (presumably) doing some heeling things off-camera. He hits a spinebuster on Finn and locks in a Boston Crab with a nice transition. They build to a hot tag on Itami, who cleans house with dropkicks and running knees on both guys. Balor tags himself in – lots of tension between the two – and hits Breeze with a hesitation dropkick in the corner. Hideo tags himself back in, they get into it, and Tyler rolls him up with a small package for the win.
Winners: Adam Rose & Tyler Breeze
-Breeze superkicks Itami and hits Balor with the Beauty Shot. Adam Rose tries to celebrate with him after the match, and Breeze drops him with a superkick. Huge babyface reaction for Tyler with him standing tall over a ring full of knocked out bodies.

Backstage with Sami Zayn after his match with John Cena. He says his shoulder popped out 30 seconds into the match (it was actually about 30 seconds before the match), and he hasn’t had time to process anything yet. He says he has some physical and mental things to work out before Takeover, because if he goes in feeling injured he’s already lost. They’re still pushing ahead as if this match is still happening.
-Zayn comes out in street clothes. NXT Champ Kevin Owens is out next. Sami asks him, once and for all, why he did what he did. He says there’s an element of truth to him fighting for his family, but he knows there’s more to it than that, and demands an answer. Sami asks if its jealousy because he got to WWE first. He makes it personal, saying Kevin’s son would rather wear a Sami Zayn shirt to school than his own father’s. Owens gets emotional and leaves the ring, threatening to walk out. Kevin finally says everything Zayn said is irrelevant, because after he beat him months ago, he went home hurt and that he’s still hurt because of him. At Takeover he promises to do it again, except this time there will be no comeback.
