- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rey Mysterio was backstage at the Lucha Undergound season finale taping. Mysterio didn’t appear before cameras but is expected to be the promotion’s top star for their still-unannounced second season.
Everyone at the show was told that a second season is absolutely happening, with the plan to run a thirty-nine week season with a short off-season. Lucha Underground EP Eric Van Wagenen will be working closely with Mark Burnett on The Apprentice for the next few months, which is likely the reason for the programming gap.
Opinionated View- Again if you are counting on Rey to be the top star you are doing some foolish math. I used to joke a stiff wind would hurt Rey and that's not fair. Because a light breeze does it.
