Details On Why Sasha Banks Missed Last NXT Tapings

Sasha Banks was not at the last set of NXT TV Tapings after Takeover: Unstoppable. While PWInsider said she wasn’t injured, The Wrestling Observer (via Wrestlezone) said that she may have suffered some type of shoulder or arm injury at Takeover. Not much is known at this time, but it’s possible she went into the match injured or suffered it during the live special.
However, it also possible she did not appear because she went to the hospital to tend to her fiance, NXT Superstar and seamster, Mikaze. Mikaze was reportedly knocked out during the TV tapings. Banks went to the hospital with him after his injury. She would have wrestled on the fourth episode of the tapings, but she left to be with her fiance.

NXT News: Vince McMahon Impressed With Charlotte, Reason Hideo Itami Won, More

As previously reported, Vince McMahon was in attendance for the NXT event this past Friday in San Jose, California. He was said to be very impressed with the work of Charlotte and Sasha Banks. There was talk of Charlotte going to the main roster during Wrestlemania week and now that’s increased after McMahon saw her work. He’s also requested that she be featured more in the WWE’s Tapout commercials.

– Hideo Itami won the NXT tournament for a spot in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, but it was a last minute decision. The original plan was for Finn Balor or Adrian Neville to go over. When the match was moved to the pre-show, the decision was changed to Itami. He was selected to tie him into Tatsumi Fujinami going into the WWE Hall of Fame, as there were a lot of Japanese media in town covering Fujinami.

– The decision to bring Neville to the main roster has been in the works for a while now.

– CJ Parker decided to leave NXT because he felt he had been in development long enough. He has been there for almost four years. He wants to go out on the independents and make a name for himself. He also wants to wrestle internationally and improve his skills. He reportedly didn’t want to be seen as a talent who spent too much time in developmental and never moved on.

WWE Bringing NXT Stars Up After WrestleMania 31?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the idea behind NXT has changed a lot lately as Triple H loves all the praise he gets for NXT on social media. WWE originally was looking to train new talents from the bottom to the main roster but it appears they are recruiting top talents for the NXT brand itself. The idea is to replace some of the top indie stars who can already work good matches with more indie stars.

Regarding call-ups, there's no word on NXT Champion Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn getting brought to the main roster but there has been a lot of talk about NXT Women's Champion Sasha Banks, Adrian Neville and possibly Charlotte getting called up. With how WWE likes to introduce new talents after WrestleMania, it's possible we see new main roster talents in April.

Opinionated View- Well there is always the post mania call up. The problem is once they go to the main roster they wind up being booked the main roster creative team. Hell look at the Ascension great tag team. Having good matches in NXT. On the main roster they are getting jobbed out by the freaking Prime Time Players. Zayn, Owen, and Nevillie are great but I can't see WWE giving them the time or chances they get in NXT. The Divas division is good in NXT but on the main roster I could see her getting jobbed out to The Bellas or Alica Fox because they got to promote Total Divas.

NXT Stars on the Road With Main Roster

Several NXT stars are on the road with WWE's main roster this weekend. On Friday Night in North Charleston, South Carolina, Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox lost to Paige and Natayla. Saturday night's live event in Jacksonville, Florida saw a repeat of that match while last night's live event in Salt Lake City, Utah saw Adrian Neville and NXT Champion Sami Zayn defeat The Ascension. JoJo is also on the road this weekend as she did ring announcing in Jacksonville.

How WWE Views Some of the Divas in NXT

NXT’s Alexa Bliss is being looked at by Triple H and other officials as a talent to build the divas division around. They have also looked at Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte. Banks is said to be a little stiff but they are hoping to eliminate that problem. They are also happy with Bayley’s improvement, but Bliss and Banks are higher up on the list.

Opinionated View- NXT does have some talented Divas. The problem is on the main roster they will wind up jobbing to the total divas.

WWE Divas News and Notes

Aksana was released so that WWE could make room for NXT diva call-ups. Charlotte and Sasha Banks have been rumored to be the next ladies to join the main roster. 

Aksana was reportedly one of Kevin Dunn's favorite divas, but aside from Dunn she had very little support backstage. Dunn reportedly had cooled on her in recent months, which some say led to her release. 

In other diva news, word is that Rosa Mendes' job was saved because E! wanted her for the next season of Total Divas.

Opinionated View- Aksana was just the waste of a roster spot. Screw you E! It's bad enough you air total divas now you are saving another waste of a roster spot.
