– The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has some details regarding Bobby Lashley, Lio Rush and their heel turn last Monday. Per the report, WWE officials had only decided earlier that day to turn them heel.
There was said to be a long discussion over whether Lashley would be better off right now as a heel or babyface, especially since the roster had just lost a top heel in Kevin Owens, who is currently out of action due to a knee injury. Owens is likely going to be out for around four months if his injury only requires a minor operation, but that time frame could be longer if he needs a major surgery.
Ultimately, WWE officials made the call to turn Lashley heel believing he’d be better off as a heel since the roster needs more of them. As a result, the turn happened very quickly, and WWE needed Lashley to “injure” Owens to write him off of TV.
Additionally, Lio Rush was said to have had an ear piece with Vince McMahon feeding him lines to deliver after the match.
Opinionated View- Well the real reason is they booked him so poorly as a face no fan would ever want to cheer him.
