WWE SummerSlam Needs New Location

NorthJersey.com is reporting that the Izod Center, which was scheduled to host the WWE SummerSlam PPV on 8/23, is expected to be closed down after 34 years. All events scheduled for the arena after 3/31 are being cleared.
The report notes that the North Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority board is expected to approve a plan that would close down the 18,000 seat arena by the end of March.
WWE issued a statement regarding SummerSlam being scheduled for the arena in August.

"WWE is currently looking at alternatives and we're confident we will come up with an equivalent to or better option."
