Main Event kicks off with a recap of all the John Cena drama from WWE Raw last night. Michael Cole, JBL and Booker T welcome us, and then cut immediately to a totally unrelated match…
NIKKI BELLA vs. PAIGE
Non-title match.
Nikki goes on the attack right away but Paige rolls her up for a two-count, then superkicks the heck out of her. Paige stomps a mudhole in her in the corner and Brie pulls her sister to safety as they cut to commercial.
After the break, the challenger is still in control, kicking away at Nikki on the apron. Bella front slams her off the apron down to the floor. Natalya checks on Paige as the referee begins his count, and the champ starts doing push-ups in the ring for fun. Nikki slaps on an armbar and Paige fights back with right hands, but gets thrown onto the top rope. She keeps up her offense, slamming Paige against the ropes and ring post, then goes into a back stretch, throwing knees into the mid-section. Paige fires back again but runs into a clothesline; Nikki continues the cocky covers though so no pin.
The champ is basically toying with her opponent at this point, not taking the match seriously. Thesz press from Paige, but Nikki runs through her with a shoulder block. Nikki rolls into a nice cross arm bar but Paige keeps her hands linked and fights out of it. Arm drag by Paige followed by a series of clotheslines and a running dropkick to build up some momentum. Brie Bella gets on the apron to cause a distraction, but Paige kicks her and Natalya rushes over to tackle her to the floor. Paige with a superkick on the Divas champ! She hits the Rampaige for the 1-2-3!
Winner: PAIGE
United States Champion Rusev comes out led by the delicious looking Lana. The “Ravishing Russian” tells the crowd to shut up, and rolls footage of Ryback being fired last night on Raw. Lana talks about how embarrassed Ryback must be, but getting fired is far less embarrassing than being dominated by the “Super Athlete”. Rusev says the Authority did Ryback a favor, and the crowd starts giving him the “WHAT!?” treatment. He talks about entering the 2015 Royal Rumble match and taking his rightful place in the main event of WrestleMania.
R-TRUTH vs. FANDANGO
Truth starts on top with an arm drag, but is quickly attacked from behind while posturing. Fandango puts on a rest hold and the announcers make fun of the ONE TIME Truth confused the town he was in, multiple YEARS ago. Fandango hits the top rope leg drop for a quick and easy victory.
Winner: FANDANGO
Titus O’Neil cuts a promo on his way to the ring that’s more than a little awkward. He basically calls himself the savior for a failing nation, but he stumbles over his words a couple of times.
JACK SWAGGER vs. TITUS O’NEIL
Titus attacks early put gets caught in the Patriot Lock. He breaks the hold and goes right back to it, but is dumped to the floor as they cut to commercial.
After the break, Titus has actually managed to gain control. He fires away with big rights and lefts in the corner, and stays on top with power moves for a few minutes. Jack comes back with a belly-to-belly and actually connects with the Swagger Bomb for a two-count. The ref calls for a ropebreak even though he was three feet away, and the announcers give him hell for it. Swagger gets upset over the call and turns around into Clash of the Titus for the upset victory. Upset? Sure. Upset.
Winner: TITUS O’NEIL
