Rusev Might Have to Star Wrestling in Boots

– Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has reportedly speculated that WWE officials might force to Rusev to wrestle in traditional wrestling boots when he returns from his current injury. Rusev is still on the shelf after suffering a lower leg injury after taking a bump over the top rope in his match against Ryback on the May 26 edition of Smackdown. In the past, Rusev has always wrestled bare foot, and the hope is that by wearing boots he can prevent similar injuries from happening in the future.

Updates on Daniel Bryan, Rusev, Big Show, and Hideo Itami

At this time, there is no timetable for Rusev’s return.
– Daniel Bryan is scheduled for Raw tonight, but is not scheduled for tomorrow’s Smackdown tapings.
– The Big Show is in Texas, and could be making his return to WWE TV this week.
– Hideo Itami is in Japan this week promoting the WWE’s July events.

Breaking News Rusev Pulled From Elimination Chamber

WWE.com has announced that Rusev has been pulled from tonight's Elimination Chamber special event. Rusev had been scheduled to take part in the WWE Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber match to crown a new champion. WWE stated that Rusev was not "medically cleared" due to a lower leg injury.
A replacement was not announced as of an hour before the show went live.

WWE Confirms Injury to Rusev

I Quit Match Set for WWE Payback

John Cena defending the WWE United States Championship against Rusev in an "I Quit" match has been announced for the 5/17 WWE Payback PPV live in Baltimore.

This match was made official on Sunday night at the Extreme Rules PPV.

Opinionated View- AH DAMN IT! All three matches have sucked so far. And we know Cena isn't going to quit.

Why Wasn't Lana on Smackdown

We noted last week that WWE was teasing tension between Lana and WWE United States Champion Rusev after she accepted John Cena's WrestleMania 31 challenge for Rusev.

Lana did not appear on SmackDown with Rusev and is not appearing at this weekend's WWE live events with him because she's filming WWE Studios' action-thriller Interrogation with WWE Hall of Famer Edge. WWE is using the tension between she and Rusev to explain her absence. One rumored theory going around is that she will stay off TV until WrestleMania 31, where she will return to bring Rusev "support" for his match against Cena in the form of the grand entrance that we reported on in a spoiler post earlier this week.

WWE Using Casting Agency For WrestleMania 31 Entrace

WWE put out a listing through a local casting agency in San Francisco looking for adult males to work as "marching Russian soldiers" for a potential WrestleMania 31 entrance involving WWE United States Champion Rusev. The listing reads as follows:

Rusev and Lana Buy Home Together

Huge Match Set For WWE Fast Lane, Sting - Triple H Confrontation Also Teased For The Show

WWE started a new Authority twitter account today and teased two major events for the upcoming Fast Lane pay-per-view.The tweets read "Per the Office of The Authority and COO Triple H, John Cena will face Rusev at WWE Fast Lane on the WWE Network." Cena and Rusev filmed an angle after the Royal Rumble to kick off their feud.Also, a confrontation between Triple H and Sting was teased, with the company issuing the following tweet:

- WWE began the feud between Rusev and John Cena o tonight's WWE Royal Rumble Fallout post-show. John Cena opened the post-show with Renee young but an irate Rusev interrupted and the two got into it but were separated. We noted before that Rusev vs. Cena is expected for WrestleMania 31

WWE Moving Forward With Plans For Rusev Vs. John Cena?

We noted back in 2014 that WWE officials had talked about doing Rusev vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 31. The idea at the time was to have Rusev cost John Cena his WWE World Heavyweight Title match at the Royal Rumble.

WWE is currently advertising Cena and Randy Orton vs. Rusev and Seth Rollins for the February 27th live event from Madison Square Garden. This could be a sign that they are going ahead with plans for Cena vs. Rusev. So far there has been no interaction with Rusev and either Cena or Orton that would lead to that main event being booked. It's also possible that Cena vs. Rusev is just the live event program during WrestleMania season.

Rusev’s Next Feud

- As seen on Raw, it appears that WWE is moving toward a Rusev vs. Ryback feud. During the Highlight Reel segment, Ryback confronted the US champion and Rusev backed down, suggesting this is the next opponent for him.

Opinionated View- Some where deep in the seventh circle of heel I think people will have to watch Rusev vs. Ryback as punishment.

Chris Jericho segment announced for Raw

WWE has announced that Raw guest general manager Chris Jericho will have Rusev and Lana as guests on The Highlight Reel.

Opinionated View- Well that is going to suck Jericho hasn't cut a good promo in about the same time its been since he cared. Lana who stick is just "USA sucks Russia good!" and Rusev just grunts.

Why Sheamus/Rusev Worked Twice

The US title match between Rusev and Sheamus was originally set to happen at the Survivor Series, but a decision was made at the last minute to air it on the WWE Network instead. The RAW script was already written to feature Sheamus vs Tyson Kidd and Rusev vs Zack Ryder. Instead of hurrying to re-book the segments, they just had Sheamus and Rusev work twice.

More Backstage News On The Rock — Physical Limit

 WWE did not want the Rock doing anything more physical on RAW last night than what he did. This led to no Rock Bottoms or People’s Elbows. WWE did this not only for The Rock, but also to keep Rusev strong.

Opinionated View- WHAT? You actually think Rusev looked strong last night. WWE I know you are stupid but even you can't be this stupid! No Rusev didn't look strong he got punched over and over again and than left that is not strong.

WWE Planning Next Feud for Rusev (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

WWE creative is reportedly having discussions of a feud between Rusev and Sheamus for the WWE United States title. The feud would happen after Rusev wraps up his current one with Big Show.

The feud would reportedly see Rusev win the title from Sheamus in order to allow Rusev to get heat from bragging about being the US champion.

Opinionated View- Just shows how little I care about the US title I actually for Sheamus had it. I really am disappointed as I thought Rusev has potential but he just hasn't developed. Part of that is he's been facing guys with zero talent like Big E and Henry. It also doesn't help no one cars about doing a 1980's US vs Russian feud.

WWE Issues Apology Over Russia Flag Incident

WWE issued the following statement on Tuesday.

"We at WWE would like to apologize to the Russian people for the incident on Monday Night Raw that could have been construed as disrespect for their nation's flag."

Opinionated View- See back in the day when you did the Russia vs USA feuds things were a lot less PC. Also WWE wasn't so desperate they needed to pump up numbers with every over seas market they could find.
