Chris Jericho shares Tough Enough details

Chris Jericho spoke about promoting Tough Enough during his latest podcast. "It's a brand new version of Tough Enough," Jericho said while saying what he wanted to tell the media at the NBC Upfronts red carpet event. "It's got a whole new overhaul. It's like 'The Voice' combined with 'Dancing with the Stars.' I'm the host of the show, I'm not a trainer. I'm kind of like the Carson Daily or the Ryan Seacrest or the Tom Bergeron of Tough Enough.

"And we've got the panelists, Hulk Hogan, Paige, Daniel Bryan. There's a live studio audience in the crowd. We're going to show what happened during the week during the training sessions. And then we're going to have live challenges and we're going to have a fan vote where the audience votes in to decide who they want to stay and who they want to go. It' a brand new world." Tough Enough host revealed, Daniel Bryan and Hulk Hogan involvement

WWE issued the following press release to Prowrestling.net on Thursday.
USA Network and WWE announced today that WWE Superstar Chris Jericho will be the host of the highly-anticipated series, WWE TOUGH ENOUGH, and will be joined by a panel of experts comprised of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan®, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan® and WWE Diva Paige™. The high-octane reality series premieres LIVE Tuesday, June 23 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on USA Network and around the world.*

This season of WWE TOUGH ENOUGH will combine the can't-miss excitement of live television with reality-show drama, as WWE hopefuls vie for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to become the next WWE Superstar or Diva. Unlike anything on television today, the lightning-fast hour of entertainment and competition will include live results every week, giving fans worldwide the power to decide who stays and who goes the very same night. Each week, one cast member will be eliminated until one man and one woman are considered "Tough Enough," with each earning a one-year, $250,000 WWE contract.

Rumored Host For Tough Enough’s Return

 At this time, it is being rumored that Chris Jericho will the new host of Tough Enough when the show returns to the USA Network on June 23rd. While no announcement of the coaches has been made, some of the NXT coaches are expected to be involved with the show. More details as they become available.

Jericho Defends DeMott Than Deletes Tweet, EC3 Comments

Chris Jericho quietly deleted a comment off of Twitter earlier today that he made yesterday in defense of NXT head trainer Bill DeMott based off of recent allegations made against DeMott by former NXT developmental talent Austin Matelson (Judas Devlin) about how DeMott treats talent in developmental. Jericho had tweeted the following:

"Hey @BillDeMott is a good friend & great trainer. If u can't handle it then quit. My training at #HartBrothers camp was 10,000 times worse!"

 

Jericho's comment led to former WWE star and current TNA wrestler EC3 (Derrick Bateman in WWE) to tweet out the following in response:

"I love/sacrificed for pro wrestling. A Hart can stretch me any day. A know nothing dipshit slapping me when I'm concussed is different."

 

Other former NXT developmental talent, including Ryan Nemeth (Briley Pierce), former WWE wrestler Trent Baretta and independent wrestler Joey Ryan have also commented on the situation in support of Matelson's claims.

Also today, another former NXT developmental talent, Drew Donovan (Chase Donovan), commented on the situation via Facebook with the following:

Everything coming out in this WWE Developmental fiasco is pretty much one hundred percent true. More people would speak out if it weren't for that "maybe they'll hire me back" mentality.

Not bitching, complaining, trying to correct an injustice, looking for a handout, or anything. Just saying. Now stop messaging me for confirmation and let me be depressed about turning 30.

WWE commented on the situation yesterday, releasing a statement that said they did a full investigation and couldn't find anything that supported Matelson's claims against DeMott.

Opinionated View- Further proof Jericho is a jackass. As I said yesterday there is line between being tough and being a jackass/bully. And to the "it was worse back in my day." Doesn't make it right. There are plenty of things in all walks of life we have seen the way it used to be done is wrong.

Hopefully WWE finally wises up and fired DeMott. Because for years stories like this have been coming out and it's about time he finally paid the price.

Details On Chris Jericho’s Schedule This Weekend

- Chris Jericho will work this weekend’s WWE live events in New Jersey (Trenton and East Rutherford). He will also make live appearances locally. He will appear at FYE in the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, Pennsylvania before tonight’s show in Trenton at the Sun National Bank Center. He will appear at FYE in the Woodbridge Mall in Woodbridge, NJ on Saturday at 4 PM before the show at the IZOD Center. Fans can get autographs at both events and buy the new Fozzy album Do You Want To Start A War?.

Jericho will be in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon to moderate the debate between Eric Bischoff and Bruce Prichard. It will happen at Dave & Buster’s on Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia.

This is only a few minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center, which is hosting this year’s Royal Rumble PPV. Jericho has said he won’t be at the Royal Rumble, but he’s also said he will be in posts on Twitter. Jericho likes to confuse his fans on when he’ll appear on WWE TV, so there’s no way to tell if he’ll be in the match or not.

Opinionated View- The good news about Jericho only house shows we don't have to watch him half ass it on TV and his lack of effort won't stand out as much since a lot of guys phone it in on house shows

Chris Jericho Returning Next Week on Raw

WWE has announced that Chris Jericho will return on next week's live 12/15 WWE RAW from Detroit as a special guest general manager. Next week is officially "WWE Week" on the USA Network with RAW on Monday and a live Smackdown on Tuesday.

Chris Jericho Advertised for WWE Live Events During Royal Rumble Weekend

Chris Jericho has been advertised to appear at WWE live events in New Jersey on 1/23 and 1/24 according to a report by Jason Powell. As previously reported, Jericho and WWE were working on a new deal that would have Jericho only work live events and not any TV tapings or PPV events. Jericho has not been advertised for the Royal Rumble PPV.

WWE Negotiating with Chris Jericho for 2015 Appearances

Chris Jericho is said to be in negotiations with WWE for a new deal at the moment. The new deal would reportedly have Jericho appear at additional live events in the month of January 2015 and have him working a full live event schedule throughout January and February next year. Currently, Jericho is scheduled to appear at the WWE house show in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 17. There is speculation he might appear in the WWE Royal Rumble match as well.
WWE officials are apparently confident they will reach a new deal with Jericho because they told the marketing department Jericho will be working a full live event schedule in January and February. The plan is that Jericho would work solely at live events instead of TV shows and PPV, basically the opposite of Brock Lesnar’s current deal.
Those plans could change because Jericho did not want to work the recent Smackdown taping during WWE’s recent European tour, but he ended up working the tapings anyway. Currently, Jericho is not scheduled to work WrestleMania 31 next March. However, his current Fozzy European tour is slated to end on March 21, which would potentially free Jericho up for a WrestleMania 31 gig.

Opinionated View- Jericho the guy that even phones in title matches at Mania these days. Hopefully Jericho finally found some pride and will actually try to have good matches. And for anyone about to post "Jericho is great." He's not anymore I know when Jericho is great and it's been years since he was.

Update On Jericho's Last Dates With WWE

- When Fozzy's touring schedule was released earlier this summer, it was said that Chris Jericho's final WWE appearance will be on the September 23 episode of RAW in Memphis. Jericho is currently expected to finish at Night of Champions this Sunday. While he may still work next week's RAW, he's not advertised.

Chris Jericho Injured on Raw Last Night

Chris Jericho suffered a gash on his chin during his match with Kane on last night's 9/15 WWE RAW in Lafayette. Jericho received five stitches to close the gash after the show.
