Vince McMahon Upset With Austin/Lesnar WM 32 Rumors, Heyman Comments on Podcast

 According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon wasn’t happy with the Steve Austin/Paul Heyman podcast bringing up the idea of a Brock Lesnar vs. Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 32. As previously reported, Heyman asked about the idea of a match and Austin went into “promo mode” about it before later saying on his audio podcast that he wasn’t trying to set up such a match, which he said wasn’t likely to happen.
The site reports that Austin and Lesnar have talked about the match in the past, as it’s the biggest one they could probably do. Heyman is friends with both and there was thought to be some potential for the match. Heyman asked the question anyway and Austin was ready with an answer; there was some plan to go this way in the conversation, but Heyman didn’t know what Austin’s response would be.
McMahon was reportedly unhappy because the match won’t happen and they can’t deliver on the possibility that was raised. McMahon wanted the story to go away quickly and hoped that Austin addressing it on the audio podcast would be enough to make it go away.
PWInsider reports that Heyman was asked about the potential of the match on Chael Sonnen’s podcast and said that he legitimately caught Ausin off-guard with the question. He said that Austin’s jump into promo mode was because Austin believes that everything about his character is real. Heyman added that he couldn’t sit through a full hour talking with Austin and not bring the question up, but noted that the chances of the match happening are nil and that Austin will give a “plethora of reasons” why that’s the case.
Heyman said that he hopes Austin is involved with WrestleMania 32 considering it is in Texas but isn’t interested if Austin does a match with someone other than Lesnar, so he brought up the question for selfish reasons. Sonnen said he thought Heyman was working him and that the match will happen. Heyman responded that if there was any chance of it that Austin would play the rumors up and build anticipation, not shoot the rumor down as he did on his audio podcast.

Did Vince McMahon Sign Off on Brock Lesnar’s Blade Job at WrestleMania 31

As previously reported, WWE denied that Brock Lesnar performed a blade job in his main event match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31. The Wrestling Observer has some more details on the incident.
According to the report, WWE sources claim that Vince McMahon did not sign off on the blade job by Lesnar. Before this most recent occurrence, the last person to perform a blade job was Batista, and he received a fine of $100,000 as a result. The report suggests something like Lesnar blading would need approval by McMahon, and other officials are claiming this is not the case and no blade job even occurred

WWE HOF News: Management Not Happy With HBK, Thoughts on Show, More

The WWE Hall of Fame show was not received well by WWE Management. While many viewers enjoyed the show, WWE Management felt the show ran far too long and that it wasn’t exciting enough.

– Due to the show running long, it was requested that Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair shorten their speeches.

– WWE pushed hard to have Kevin Nash go into the WWE Hall of Fame as Diesel but Nash fought that. Nash wanted to go in under his real name, partly because the narrative (even from WWE) was that Diesel was one of the worst drawing WWF champions.

– Several executives, including Vince McMahon, were not happy about the talk that Kevin Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts. This was because the feeling at the time was that WCW was trying to put WWF out of business, and Vince McMahon took that personally.

– The company wasn’t happy with Shawn Michaels’ speech during the ceremony. Michaels did actually tear up his prepared speech and spoke from the heart when inducting Nash. Management was reportedly not happy that he used the words “strap” and “wrestler,” and was also upset (as mentioned) over his comments that Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts

– The company loved The Bushwhackers speech. The feeling was that it was the perfect mix of their “on camera” characters and telling old stories.

NXT News: Vince McMahon Impressed With Charlotte, Reason Hideo Itami Won, More

As previously reported, Vince McMahon was in attendance for the NXT event this past Friday in San Jose, California. He was said to be very impressed with the work of Charlotte and Sasha Banks. There was talk of Charlotte going to the main roster during Wrestlemania week and now that’s increased after McMahon saw her work. He’s also requested that she be featured more in the WWE’s Tapout commercials.

– Hideo Itami won the NXT tournament for a spot in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, but it was a last minute decision. The original plan was for Finn Balor or Adrian Neville to go over. When the match was moved to the pre-show, the decision was changed to Itami. He was selected to tie him into Tatsumi Fujinami going into the WWE Hall of Fame, as there were a lot of Japanese media in town covering Fujinami.

– The decision to bring Neville to the main roster has been in the works for a while now.

– CJ Parker decided to leave NXT because he felt he had been in development long enough. He has been there for almost four years. He wants to go out on the independents and make a name for himself. He also wants to wrestle internationally and improve his skills. He reportedly didn’t want to be seen as a talent who spent too much time in developmental and never moved on.

Lana was not at Raw, as she was back working on the WWE Studios film Interrogation.

Did Brock Lesnar Blade at WrestleMania?

During the WrestleMania 31 main event between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, fans saw something that they usually don’t in modern day WWE, blood. Besides being cut open on his cheek in the early action with Reigns, Lesnar was sent to the post late and got busted open. But there are some that don’t think that Lesnar was cut open the hard way. If Lesnar did blade, this would have been a direct call from Vince McMahon as the company has not allowed it for years. In the gif below, you will see the referee appear to put something (possibly the blade) in Roman Reigns hand. The theory is that when Lesnar went to the floor he got the blade and cut himself as he went into the post.

Update on WWE Mighty Mouse Gimmick

Regarding the rumors that WWE was planning on bringing Adrian Neville to the main roster with a Mighty Mouse-like character, there's been no recent talk of this happening but it's an idea that Vince McMahon has wanted to do with a short wrestler for some time. There was talk at one point of signing Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo for that role but he chose MMA instead of signing with WWE. The idea behind the gimmick is that it will be an underdog babyface targeted to kids.

Opinionated View- Dear god I hate the WWE I really do. And if anyone thinks a "Mighty Mouse" Gimmick would wind up being anything more than dumb comedy its the WWE they love dumb comedy.

Backstage Update On The WWE Contract Negotiations Between Vince McMahon And Brock Lesnar

Regarding the contract issues that came up between Vince McMahon and WWE World Heavyweight Champion two weeks ago at RAW, nothing has changed. Lesnar was at this week's RAW and apparently they were still unable to resolve the issues. The situation is described as one where neither Lesnar or McMahon wants to budge from their current position on Lesnar's next deal with the company. To finalize the deal, one of them or possibly both of them, will likely have to budge on the terms they're sticking to for now. Both Vince and Brock are aware of this and there is said to be no pressure on Lesnar to be the first one to budge right now.

Backstage Talk On Why Brock Lesnar Won't Skip WrestleMania, More On The McMahon Argument

As of this week, the business disagreement between Vince McMahon and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is still unresolved but Vince is confident that Lesnar will work WrestleMania 31. There are reports going around that Vince has told WWE creative to come up with back-up plans for the WrestleMania event but that is not the case as Vince has told everyone involved not to create back-up plans.

People within WWE that are involved with booking WrestleMania did not know if Lesnar would be there or not, as of this week, but since he is booked and still advertised, the company is going forward with the idea that Lesnar will be there.

Not only would Lesnar bring a breach of contract and a major lawsuit by not showing up for WrestleMania, the payday for WrestleMania is so significant that there's virtually on chance that he will skip the show and there isn't much concern within WWE about him missing WrestleMania. However, there is some concern over Lesnar's future with WWE after WrestleMania.

We noted before that Lesnar and Vince got into such a heated shouting match at the RAW in Nashville that people were concerned backstage. This is the same night Lesnar walked out and went home. The issues with Vince that night had to do with talks about his new WWE contract but it was said this week by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the differences were not too big for them to get past but it was more of two people, Vince and Brock, who did not want to back down to the other.
Regarding Brock's appearance at UFC 184 last Saturday, he made the arrangements with UFC President Dana White at least a few days before the event, which would have been just a day or two after the incident at RAW.

Stephanie and Vince McMahon Comment On Divas

Stephanie McMahon took to Twitter late Tuesday evening to respond to comments by WWE Diva AJ Lee who criticized her for supporting comments by actress Patricia Arquette for discussing women's rights and wage equality at the Oscars on Sunday night.

Lee wrote, "Your female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times, and nd yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster. #UseYourVoice."

McMahon then responded around three hours later to Lee writing, "Thank you @WWEAJLee, I appreciate your opinion.  #UseYourVoice."

Did Brock Lesnar Walk Out Of RAW Before It Ended?, Backstage News On His Status With WWE

We noted earlier that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was backstage at last night's RAW in Nashville but not used. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that there was more to the story than Lesnar just not being used

PWInsider reports that Lesnar flew on his private plane to Nashville for RAW earlier in the day on Monday, so he was there.

According to people backstage at RAW, Lesnar was visibly angry about something and one source claimed he walked out of RAW before it ended.

Word is that something happened between Lesnar and WWE but it was not creative related, but something to do with their business relationship. Vince McMahon acknowledged an issue with Lesnar during a SmackDown production meeting today but did not go into details.
Lesnar has already returned home and is not at SmackDown. We'll keep you updated.

With another major snow storm hitting New England late last night, Vince McMahon and his inner circle, including Kevin Dunn and others, flew out late Sunday morning on the WWE corporate jet to Denver, the site of tonight's RAW. They had originally planned to leave later in the day, but feared they'd risk travel complications.Coming off of last week's issues stemming from a blizzard hitting the Northeast resulting in RAW and Smackdown tapings being postponed, McMahon wanted to take all precautions to ensure a less chaotic week of tv.

Why WWE Is No Longer Numbering WrestleMania

- WWE is reportedly no longer branding WrestleMania with numbers, at least with the logo. Instead, symbols are being used to distinguish each event.

It was announced last week that WrestleMania will come to AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 3, 2016 and "32" is nowhere to be seen on the logo. It instead features a star to represent the "Lone Star State." On top of that, the logo for this year's WrestleMania features a "Play" button. to represent Silicon Valley, which is near Levi's Stadium, in Santa Clara, California. This is according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, who said on Wrestling Observer Radio today that the events are no longer being branded with numbers "because Vince [McMahon] thinks it makes it sound too old."

Opinionated View- Ok any time Dave reports something you got to be careful. But Vince has strange quarks like so I could see him going "The Numbers makes it seem to old damn it." Of course Vince finds numbers to old I think what makes the event look really old is having old guys all over it.

How Did WWE React To The Fan Backlash At The Royal Rumble?

Vince McMahon and top WWE officials were said to be “legitimately surprised” at the intensity of fan backlash at the Royal Rumble PPV. WWE knew that some fans would not approve of Reigns winning instead of Daniel Bryan but didn’t expect it to get that bad.

 Dave Meltzer said: “They panicked early, they changed a few things. Dwayne was not happy.”
Yes, even The Rock was said to be surprised by the reaction. His surprise could even be seen during his in-ring segment and post-show backstage promo on the WWE Network.

Even with the #CancelWWENetwork campaign, Vince McMahon is “dead set” on sticking to Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar. WWE doesn’t plan on adding Daniel Bryan to the main event again because they did it last year. Meltzer added: “Vince feels that it would be a repeat and gone to the well one time too often.”

Opinionated View- Its not just that Bryan didn't win. Because I think if Ambrose or Ziggler had won the fans would have been fine with it. The problem is fans are sick of WWE trying to force someone who isn't over or in Reigns case ready to be in the top spot. It doesn't help the whole show was awful. But hey Vince if you want to try and cram your head further up your ass go ahead.

Vince McMahon Reportedly Writing Roman Reigns’ Promos

As previously reported, there are some in WWE who believe that Roman Reigns’ scripted promos are actually hurting his push and aren’t bringing him up to the next level in the company. On RAW, he compared himself to Superman. On Smackdown, he used the phrase “suffering succotash,” commonly used by Sylvester from Looney Tunes.

Does Vince McMahon Resent NXT?

It's been reported that there had been some tension on WWE’s main roster talent after the recent NXT Takeover event because of how successful the event was, among other issues. Apparently the talents were not the only ones feeling that way.

Sources have described Vince McMahon as being “very grumpy” lately and it’s said that he does not like the perception that NXT is putting on better shows than the main roster is.

This has apparently resulted in a weird situation where Vince is down on on NXT wrestlers before they even get called up. The whole idea behind NXT is that they get talents ready for the main roster. Vince is said to be very distainful of NXT’s success and reportedly feels that some of the NXT stars are overrated. Vince's lack of faith with NXT talent may explain why the likes of Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, and Charlotte are stuck in developmental for the time being.

Opinionated View- You know a logical person would go "Why do so many people think NXT is better? What are they doing in NXT? What from NXT can we take and try on the main roster?" Of course Vince stopped being logical years ago. Why do I have a feeling the NXT taping will see Zayn drop the NXT title to Curtis Axel, The funk slut that isn't married to the Uso show up and beat Charlotte, 55 mins of talking and two mins of wrestling.

WWE Raw Script Got Last Minute Re-Write

- According to a new report, WWE Raw’s script was re-written at around 3 PM ET yesterday. It is believed by some that Vince McMahon personally re-wrote it, with many noting that many of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s lines sounded like the kinds of things that Vince himself would say. The belief is that the Authority promos were entirely Vince’s and not something Triple H and Stephanie came up with.

Several people backstage in the company were unhappy with the show and felt that the “fired” trio of Ryback, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler were left in a bad position, particularly Ziggler considering his current push.

Morale At All Time Low in WWE?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that morale in WWE has gotten worse since the Vince McMahon interview on the live WWE Network edition of Steve Austin’s podcast. The problem among the talent is that they feel McMahon buried just about everyone outside of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt and the now-infamous “brass ring” comments hit home for a lot of midcard guys who were pushed in a very start-stop manner.

Another notable point among the talent who were down on the interview were the burial of Cesaro, who at one point was believed to have top babyface potential before his heel turn. Morale got bad enough that Triple H did a speech to the whole roster in an attempt at damage control that backfire. It is said that the NXT guys love him, but that he lost credibility with the main roster guys who have been there for a long time.

Opinionated View- I've said it all along the current roster isn't allowed to even jump up and grab the ring. If I'm a guy whose on the main roster right now and I'm not one of the golden children I would give up. I'd keep working I'd make my money but I'd also assume things will never change.

How Much is Vince McMahon’s WWE Stock Worth?

- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has some new details on Vince McMahon’s financial stake in WWE. The site reports that McMahon moved $96 million, or eight and a half million shares, of personal stock to his trust account. He owns a total of 39,272,641 shares of WWE stock, worth around $440 million.
The company stock price is $11.51 at closing time today, putting the company’s market worth at $868,742,950.
