WWE HOF News: Management Not Happy With HBK, Thoughts on Show, More

The WWE Hall of Fame show was not received well by WWE Management. While many viewers enjoyed the show, WWE Management felt the show ran far too long and that it wasn’t exciting enough.

– Due to the show running long, it was requested that Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair shorten their speeches.

– WWE pushed hard to have Kevin Nash go into the WWE Hall of Fame as Diesel but Nash fought that. Nash wanted to go in under his real name, partly because the narrative (even from WWE) was that Diesel was one of the worst drawing WWF champions.

– Several executives, including Vince McMahon, were not happy about the talk that Kevin Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts. This was because the feeling at the time was that WCW was trying to put WWF out of business, and Vince McMahon took that personally.

– The company wasn’t happy with Shawn Michaels’ speech during the ceremony. Michaels did actually tear up his prepared speech and spoke from the heart when inducting Nash. Management was reportedly not happy that he used the words “strap” and “wrestler,” and was also upset (as mentioned) over his comments that Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts

– The company loved The Bushwhackers speech. The feeling was that it was the perfect mix of their “on camera” characters and telling old stories.

"Congratulations to @RealKevinNash as the latest member of #WWEHOF. It will be an honor to induct you. #RAW"
It had long been believed that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels would be inducting Nash, but it appears that Foley will be inducting Nash instead. WWE has yet to confirm Foley inducting Nash into the Hall of Fame as of this writing.

Kevin Nash Confirmed For WWE Hall of Fame

Courtesy of WWE.com:
Kevin Nash to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame's Class of 2015
With the force of an 18-wheeler barreling down the highway, Kevin Nash will charge into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 31.

Breaking into the industry in 1990, the 6-foot-10 monster joined up with WCW, taking on the personas of a post-apocalyptic warrior, a mystical being from the emerald city of Oz, and a wise-cracking Las Vegas gambler. But it was when Nash jumped to WWE in 1993 that the big man began to leave his mark on the sports-entertainment world.

Clad in black leather from head to toe, he embraced his Motor City roots, taking on the name Diesel while serving as the stoic bodyguard for the cocky Shawn Michaels. Though his main duties were to protect the Heartbreak Kid, Diesel soon stepped into the ring himself. The WWE roster found it quite difficult to combat the giant who demolished the opposition with his trademark Jackknife Powerbomb, while the WWE Universe found it difficult to jeer someone who oozed coolness.
Within a year of his WWE debut, Big Daddy Cool put in a dominant Royal Rumble performance, eliminating seven Superstars on his own, along with capturing the Intercontinental Title and World Tag Team Titles with HBK. However, an errant Sweet Chin Music from Michaels at Survivor Series 1994 infuriated the big man, ended their partnership and altered the course of WWE history. Just three days later, Diesel demolished Bob Backlund in eight seconds to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Madison Square Garden.

After a championship reign that lasted close to a year, Nash began to plan his exit from WWE. Following an infamous MSG moment known as "The Curtain Call," where he, Razor Ramon, Michaels and Triple H let the WWE Universe in on their close friendship, Nash joined Ramon (aka Scott Hall), wreaking havoc on the Atlanta-based WCW. The two shocked the world when they convinced Hulk Hogan to ditch his trademark red and yellow and turn to the dark side. The three formed the notorious New World Order and ran roughshod over WCW.

As The nWo grew and split into separate factions, so did Nash's trophy case. He and Hall captured the WCW Tag Team Titles before the big man branched out on his own. One of Nash's crowning moments came at Starrcade 1999, when he (with an assist from Hall) ended Goldberg's 173-match winning streak to take the WCW World Championship.

Nash held the WCW title four more times before the company was sold to WWE in early 2001. One year later, he reunited with Hall and Hogan to bring The nWo's brand of carnage to WWE. Eventually, the outlaw band dissolved and Nash set his sights on former friend Triple H and the World Heavyweight Championship, even clashing with The Game inside Hell in a Cell.

Though his appearances in WWE have become more sporadic over the years, Nash still pops in from time to time to let the world know that Big Daddy Cool can still hang, whether it's donning his Diesel gear to enter the Royal Rumble Match or reuniting with his Kliq buddies. Now, he will be immortalized in sports-entertainment history as a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com, the SAP Center box office, and by calling 800-745-3000. The ceremony will also air live this Saturday on WWE Network, starting with the Red Carpet Special at 7/6 C!

As previously reported, tonight’s Hall of Fame announcement is expected to be Madusa, so Nash will be announced sometime later.

Kevin Nash Angry at WWE Over Handling of Suspension?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kevin Nash is said to have had “a lot of tension” toward WWE over how their handling of his arrest on assault charges against his son. The site notes that the anger from Nash didn’t come from the suspension of his legends contract, but rather how things were handled overall.

As previously reported, Nash had taken to Twitter and said he didn’t think he’d ever be back on TV but he of course came back for Raw. WWE had been discussing Nash as a potential Hall of Fame inductee this year, and as previously mentioned Nash’s lawyer told TMZ about it as a theoretical.
There’s no word on whether the Hall of Fame induction is still on the table for this year or not.

Kevin Nash and other legends added to Raw Reunion

WWE has added Kevin Nash, Jimmy Hart, Billy Gunn, and Ron Simmons to the list of legends who will appear on Monday's Raw Reunion event.

Opinionated View- I am going to be sick. And it has nothing to do with the legal issues its the simple fact there are to many freaking times where they bring in the old guys just to steal time from the full time workers. I'm sick of legends.  And it's not even special anymore because there are legends on TV every fucking week.

"Now that Kevin Nash’s legal matter has been resolved with all charges being dropped, his “legends” contract has been immediately reinstated."
No word on if Nash will be added back to the RAW Reunion show this Monday in Dallas.

Opinionated View- Don't add him to Raw we got to many old guys gimping around already.

Assault Charges Against Kevin Nash Dropped

Kevin Nash took to Twitter to announce that as of today, the assault charges against him stemming from the incident with his son over the holidays has been dropped. Nash posted:

Kevin Nash         @RealKevinNash
To those that have sent you're love and support words can not express what you mean to me. As of 3:30 pm EST all charges have been dropped

Nash’s WWE Legends contract was suspended due to their policy on the issue. It is likely that the suspension will be lifted now that the charges are dropped. Nash was originally set to appear on the Raw Reunion show on Monday before the incident took place. While he said last night that he doesn’t see himself returning to WWE programming after the suspension is lifted, there is certainly a chance that he could be included.

Which Executive Suspended Kevin Nash

The Wrestling Observer (via Wrestlezone) reports that it was most likely Triple H’s decision to suspend Kevin Nash after his arrest for assault last month. Since the two are friends, it’s also likely that Triple H is the one who told Nash personally.

Update on Kevin Nash and His WWE Legend Deal

Regarding WWE suspending Kevin Nash over his arrest back on 12/24, the belief is that he would be reinstated with the company once the charges are dismissed. Nash signed a five year legends contract with WWE back in 2011. As reported earlier, Nash was scheduled to make an appearance at the 1/19 RAW taping in Dallas that carried the "RAW Reunion" theme. He has since been pulled from advertising.

Kevin Nash No Longer Set For Raw Reunion Special

- Kevin Nash is no longer set to appear on the January 19th Raw Reunion show in Dallas, Texas. While Nash is still advertised for the show on WWE.com and the American Airlines Arena site, WrestlingInc cites a WWE source as confirming that Nash will not be at the show.

The pulling of Nash is of course due to the suspension of his Legends contract, which happened after he was involved in a domestic incident with his son over the holidays

Opinionated View- Now if only we could cancel the whole dumb reunion. Enough give time to the current guys on the main roster.

Kevin Nash comments on arrest

WWE Suspends Kevin Nash's Legends Contract

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Kevin Nash’s WWE Legends contract has been suspended as a result of the arrest. Nash signed a five-year deal with the WWE Legends program in 2011, which encompasses promotional and TV appearances.

WWE released a statement on Nash’s arrest earlier today, saying: “Kevin Nash has not regularly performed for WWE since January 2004. He is currently under a non-wrestling ‘legends’ contract, which has been immediately suspended until this domestic dispute is resolved.”
Port Orange attorney Mark Politis, who was speaking on behalf of the Nash family, said he “didn’t think the incident will affect Kevin’s WWE career.”

Politis also stated on the incident: “It’s an unfortunate situation. They’re a good family. I’m hoping the State Attorney’s Office will receive my information and dismiss the charges. The kid was out of control, and the father was defending his wife. I’m pretty confident we will have a resolution in the next couple of months.”

Tristen Nash claims his father Kevin Nash chokeslammed him to the ground following an argument, causing the 18-year-old to blackout in a Wednesday morning incident that ultimately led to both men being arrested. News on the WWE Network

While the WWE Network could possibly threaten PPV buys and cable/satellite providers are not happy with its launch, there has been no serious talk from Comcast to pull PPV events on cable. Even though DirecTV has threatened to pull future events from their lineup, the belief is that they won't if other providers don't pull the events.

F4WOnline.com reports that WWE is planning to bring in names such as Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, and Shawn Michaels for the upcoming WWE Network launch on the night following Elimination Chamber. There has been some speculation that Hulk Hogan will return to WWE at the Royal Rumble PPV this weekend, but the report says he's expected to make his return the night of the WWE Network launch to help with the debut.

Opinionated View- Oh god don't we have enough old guys running running around? Nash, Waltman, HBK, the Outlaws can all run and remind us they used to cool. Even Hogan I'm not thrilled with.

Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash To Be Local For Royal Rumble

Obviously any speculation should be done with a grain of salt here but Sheamus, Chris Jericho and Kevin Nash are all in the vicinity of Pittsburgh this weekend, where the Royal Rumble is being held. Sheamus is at the Pittsburgh World of Wheels show today from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, while Jericho will be at the same event tomorrow from 12 PM to 3 PM. Nash is hosting a party at a venue in Robinson, Pennsylvania (which is just outside of Pittsburgh) on Saturday night.

All three men have had attention drawn to them in recent weeks; Sheamus has been pegged for a potential Rumble return while Jericho was advertised for an upcoming WWE house show in his hometown, which WWE then denied. Nash posted a picture of himself on Twitter with dyed hair and facial hair, which he then said was because he's up for the lead role in a TV pilot. Whether any of them will appear at the Rumble or not is speculation right now.

Opinionated View- Oh god not Jericho and Nash. Sheamus I would like to see but we had enough washed up older guys running around right now. Last thing WWE needs is Nash and just cashing a check Jericho.
