WWE HOF News: Management Not Happy With HBK, Thoughts on Show, More

The WWE Hall of Fame show was not received well by WWE Management. While many viewers enjoyed the show, WWE Management felt the show ran far too long and that it wasn’t exciting enough.

– Due to the show running long, it was requested that Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair shorten their speeches.

– WWE pushed hard to have Kevin Nash go into the WWE Hall of Fame as Diesel but Nash fought that. Nash wanted to go in under his real name, partly because the narrative (even from WWE) was that Diesel was one of the worst drawing WWF champions.

– Several executives, including Vince McMahon, were not happy about the talk that Kevin Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts. This was because the feeling at the time was that WCW was trying to put WWF out of business, and Vince McMahon took that personally.

– The company wasn’t happy with Shawn Michaels’ speech during the ceremony. Michaels did actually tear up his prepared speech and spoke from the heart when inducting Nash. Management was reportedly not happy that he used the words “strap” and “wrestler,” and was also upset (as mentioned) over his comments that Nash changed the business with the guaranteed contracts

– The company loved The Bushwhackers speech. The feeling was that it was the perfect mix of their “on camera” characters and telling old stories.

Why Are WWE Hall of Famers Set For Raw?

- As previously confirmed, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan are all set for this Monday's episode of WWE Raw, along with John Cena's return after his loss at SummerSlam. The reason that WWE is is stacking the deck for this episode of Raw is because the show is going up against the Primetime Emmy Awards, which will air on NBC.

This is the first time Raw has gone head-to-head with the award show, which always draws big viewership numbers.

Opinionated View- Maybe WWE should just put on good shows that people wouldn't want to miss. Hell if anything having these three on Raw discourages me from watching. I'm sick of guys old enough to be my grandpa showing up non stop on Raw.

Three Hall of Famers advertised for Raw

WWE has announced that Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels will appear at Monday's WWE Raw show in Anaheim, California. The trio will be discussing the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena title match that has been announced as the main event of Night of Champions.

Opinionated View- Who the fuck cares what they have to say? Hell with Hogan and Flair these day I can't even really tell what they are saying. You know why don't have enough main event level talent WWE? Because instead of building up full time talent you keep giving TV time to washed up old men.

News on the WWE Network

While the WWE Network could possibly threaten PPV buys and cable/satellite providers are not happy with its launch, there has been no serious talk from Comcast to pull PPV events on cable. Even though DirecTV has threatened to pull future events from their lineup, the belief is that they won't if other providers don't pull the events.

F4WOnline.com reports that WWE is planning to bring in names such as Kevin Nash, Sean Waltman, and Shawn Michaels for the upcoming WWE Network launch on the night following Elimination Chamber. There has been some speculation that Hulk Hogan will return to WWE at the Royal Rumble PPV this weekend, but the report says he's expected to make his return the night of the WWE Network launch to help with the debut.

Opinionated View- Oh god don't we have enough old guys running running around? Nash, Waltman, HBK, the Outlaws can all run and remind us they used to cool. Even Hogan I'm not thrilled with.

Latest Details On WWE Wanting Shawn Michaels To Wrestle At Wrestlemania XXX

According to reports, WWE wants Shawn Michaels to return for a match against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXX, but the ball is said to be "completely in his court".

Even though they teased some tension between HBK, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan on TV during his last few appearances, there is no talk of HBK facing Punk at WrestleMania or teaming up with someone to face Punk and Bryan. If Michaels agrees to work one more match, it's going to be against Daniel Bryan. WWE only wants HBK to wrestle one more match, not make a full in-ring return.

The reason why WWE booked the CM Punk/HBK confrontation on RAW this week was so they could save the Triple H/CM Punk confrontation for later. Finally, even if HBK doesn't return for one more match, he's expected to be on WWE TV a lot heading into WrestleMania.

Opinionated VIew- Could this match be good? Well of course its Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels but it seems like Bryan is just in a holding pattern until HBK says yes or no.

Update on the Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels Angle

The latest report is that Daniel Bryan applying the Yes Lock to Shawn Michaels on Raw was the company's way of ending the Michaels vs. Bryan storyline. At this time, Michaels will be off WWE TV until he is needed again.

There had been several rumors (especially after his involvement in the Hell in a Cell match) that Michaels could come out of retirement to work another match, but at this time, there is no talk of Michaels returning to the ring.

Why is WWE Stacking The Deck For Hell in a Cell

    - WWE is reportedly stacking the deck with big hype matches for Hell in a Cell because of worry that they may have alienated the audience with the main events for the past two PPVs. As you may recall, some fans actually demanded refunds over the fact that Daniel Bryan's win at the show was overturned the next night on Raw and a "Refund" chant was kicked off at Battleground after the main event.

The belief in the company is that their credibility in delivering main events that fans want to see may be damaged and that they need to regain trust wit the audience. As such they have brought back John Cena sooner than expected and are guaranteeing a new WWE Champion in the Randy Orton/Daniel Bryan Hell in a Cell match, with Shawn Michaels there to ensure a legit finish.
