I Quit Match Set for WWE Payback

John Cena defending the WWE United States Championship against Rusev in an "I Quit" match has been announced for the 5/17 WWE Payback PPV live in Baltimore.

This match was made official on Sunday night at the Extreme Rules PPV.

Update On WWE Planning A New United States Title Belt

As noted, WWE officials have commissioned artwork for a new United States Title design to be created. One source reports this was done at Cena's request but that hasn't be confirmed yet.

New US Title Belt, Update on Rollins Side Plates For WWE Title

 WWE officials have talked about getting a new WWE United States Title belt for John Cena. Apparently artwork for a new design is already in the works.

Regarding Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Title belt not having the correct side plates after this week's RAW, word is that the company ordered Rollins' plates from a different company and they didn't fit correctly. They should have new plates on the belt before too long.

John Cena’s “Old Man Veteran” Depiction Went Over Poorly Backstage

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there was a lot of talk about Cena being portrayed as an “old man veteran” on Raw this week, and not good conversations either. One person in the company said it was a “shockingly bad” direction for Cena and that they can’t understand what he’s thinking in going with it.
The idea is to put Cena in a position where he is the most popular name in the company, but he doesn’t have to be the focal point and someone else (such as Roman Reigns) can be put in that place. The inspiration is the way Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund were in the 1970s, with Cena as the Sammartino.
However, as noted by those backstage, Cena is popular with a very different crowd than Sammartino was; where Bruno had a very wide fanbase that included older fans, Cena’s strongest fanbase is younger kids and women. As such, making the start to the kids the “old man veteran” isn’t likely to work, especially when he’s still the top merchandise seller. That Cena is being considered an “old man” at thirty-seven was also discussed; he is at the same age as Ric Flair in 1986, Hogan in 1990, Bret Hart in 1994 and Steve Austin in 2002, none of which were viewed as “old men” at that point.

Huge Match Set For WWE Fast Lane, Sting - Triple H Confrontation Also Teased For The Show

WWE started a new Authority twitter account today and teased two major events for the upcoming Fast Lane pay-per-view.The tweets read "Per the Office of The Authority and COO Triple H, John Cena will face Rusev at WWE Fast Lane on the WWE Network." Cena and Rusev filmed an angle after the Royal Rumble to kick off their feud.Also, a confrontation between Triple H and Sting was teased, with the company issuing the following tweet:

WWE Begins Rusev and John Cena Feud

- WWE began the feud between Rusev and John Cena o tonight's WWE Royal Rumble Fallout post-show. John Cena opened the post-show with Renee young but an irate Rusev interrupted and the two got into it but were separated. We noted before that Rusev vs. Cena is expected for WrestleMania 31

WWE Moving Forward With Plans For Rusev Vs. John Cena?

We noted back in 2014 that WWE officials had talked about doing Rusev vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 31. The idea at the time was to have Rusev cost John Cena his WWE World Heavyweight Title match at the Royal Rumble.

WWE is currently advertising Cena and Randy Orton vs. Rusev and Seth Rollins for the February 27th live event from Madison Square Garden. This could be a sign that they are going ahead with plans for Cena vs. Rusev. So far there has been no interaction with Rusev and either Cena or Orton that would lead to that main event being booked. It's also possible that Cena vs. Rusev is just the live event program during WrestleMania season.

WWE Advertising Main Event For Fast Lane?

Users on Reddit are reporting that in the Memphis area there were ads running for WWE Fast Lane during the Memphis Grizzlies NBA game. The ads advertised a tag team main event match pitting John Cena and Roman Reigns against Big Show and Seth Rollins.

Obviously the card is subject to change at any time, and this is not confirmed by any stretch.

Opinionated View- Well Rollins in the main event that is a positive. Cena vs. Big Show in any form is going to suck. If WWE goes though with pushing Reigns as a top guy when he is clearly not ready him in the main events will be really ugly.

Big Change Made to Royal Rumble Main Event

- It was announced on Raw by the Authority that the main event at the Royal Rumble will now be a triple threat match. Instead of Brock Lesnar defending the WWE Title against just John Cena, he will defend against both Cena and Seth Rollins.


Opinionated View- I guess this lend credence to the rumor Rollins is going to win the title and than lose it to Reigns.

Earlier today, images of an image of a topless elderly man with thousands of likes, comments and shares appeared on Cena’s official Facebook page. John Cena Holds Talent Meeting at Raw Over TLC

According to confirmed WWE insider MetsFan4Ever on Reddit, there was a talent-only meeting held at Raw earlier today by John Cena. The meeting was held due to a general sense of dissatisfaction over TLC last night; while it was known that NXT Takeover: R Evolution was hard to top, there were some who thought it possible and obviously that didn’t happen.

There was talk backstage that some talent knew that the show wouldn’t top NXT so they “mailed in” their matches as a silent protest in support of Triple H, feeling that it’s time he took the lead with the main shows. Cena’s meeting was described as “forceful yet calm” in approach and he stressed that the roster doesn’t need a silent protest; they need to “go out there and start stepping it up every night for their point to be proven.”

Opinionated View- If this is true than FUCK YOU JOHN CENA! The golden boy that has been handed everything and shoved so far down the fans throat he is coming out the other side. Cena a guy that can barely do four moves telling other "They mailed it in." Is bullshit. Cena Vince slipped the brass ring on your finger. Meanwhile a lot guys don't get a chance to try.

First Match and First Entrant For WWE Royal Rumble

Roman Reigns officially declared himself as the first entrant in the 2015 Royal Rumble match on Sunday night at the TLC PPV. The event takes place on 1/25/15 in Philadelphia.

With John Cena defeating Seth Rollins at the WWE TLC PPV on Sunday night, Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Cena at the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV on 1/25 in Philadelphia.

Opinionated View- Right now Royal Rumble not looking good at all. Reigns isn't ready for the super push and Cena vs Lesnar always sucks.

Survivor Series Main Event Stipulation Change Clarified (SPOILERS

- Some more details have been revealed for the Team Cena vs. Team Authority match at Survivor Series this weekend. During the Smackdown TV tapings this week, Triple H announced that members of Team Cena would be fired if the team loses the elimination match.

However, per the stipulation, all the members of Team Cena would be fired, except Cena Himself. Triple H stated that Cena is still valuable to WWE, but his other team members are expendable.
Cena’s team consists of Ryback, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, and Erick Rowan.

WWE May Change WrestleMania 31 Plans For Brock Lesnar — How Will It Impact Cena & Reigns?

The Wrestling Observer (via Rajah) reports that WWE may be considering changing its Wrestlemania 31 plans. It’s been rumored that the plan was for Brock Lesnar to go into the event as champion to defend against Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns, cementing Reigns’ role as the new face of the company. This means that Lesnar would defeat John Cena at the Royal Rumble in January.

The belief is that the match with Reigns won’t mean as much if they can’t sign Lesnar to a new deal and everyone knows its his last match. WWE isn’t sure about signing Lesnar because his price tag may not justify using him outside of shows like Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. WWE Battleground (in July) had 31,000 buys on PPV in North America without Lesnar. WWE Night of Champions (in September) had 30,000 with Lesnar. Some shows without Lesnar have actually sold more worldwide than those with him.

At one point, WWE was hoping to sign Lesnar to a new deal and give him a run as a face. This could still happen but it depends on if WWE feels his asking price is worth it.

The current “plan B” would be for Cena to beat Lesnar at the Rumble, setting up Cena vs. Reigns at Wrestlemania (with Reigns winning). It’s also possible that they would put the title on Seth Rollins and let Reigns beat him, but WWE feels like it wouldn’t mean as much if Reigns doesn’t beat Lesnar or Cena.

John Cena to Appear on NBC Sitcom

WWE star John Cena filmed a guest appearance on the NBC sitcom "Parks & Recreation" this past Monday in Los Angeles according to a report by Mike Johnson. It is said that this is the reason why Cena did not appear on this past Monday's 11/3 WWE RAW in Buffalo, not for more filming of "The Nest" that Cena has a role in as previously reported.
