I Quit Match Set for WWE Payback

John Cena defending the WWE United States Championship against Rusev in an "I Quit" match has been announced for the 5/17 WWE Payback PPV live in Baltimore.

This match was made official on Sunday night at the Extreme Rules PPV.

Opinionated View- AH DAMN IT! All three matches have sucked so far. And we know Cena isn't going to quit.

Update On WWE Planning A New United States Title Belt

As noted, WWE officials have commissioned artwork for a new United States Title design to be created. One source reports this was done at Cena's request but that hasn't be confirmed yet.

First Match Official For WWE Extreme Rules

- John Cena vs. Rusev was the first match officially announced for WWE Extreme Rules. Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton was teased on Smackdown but has not yet been officially announced.

New US Title Belt, Update on Rollins Side Plates For WWE Title

 WWE officials have talked about getting a new WWE United States Title belt for John Cena. Apparently artwork for a new design is already in the works.

Regarding Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Title belt not having the correct side plates after this week's RAW, word is that the company ordered Rollins' plates from a different company and they didn't fit correctly. They should have new plates on the belt before too long.

Rusev’s Next Feud

- As seen on Raw, it appears that WWE is moving toward a Rusev vs. Ryback feud. During the Highlight Reel segment, Ryback confronted the US champion and Rusev backed down, suggesting this is the next opponent for him.

Opinionated View- Some where deep in the seventh circle of heel I think people will have to watch Rusev vs. Ryback as punishment.

Why Sheamus/Rusev Worked Twice

The US title match between Rusev and Sheamus was originally set to happen at the Survivor Series, but a decision was made at the last minute to air it on the WWE Network instead. The RAW script was already written to feature Sheamus vs Tyson Kidd and Rusev vs Zack Ryder. Instead of hurrying to re-book the segments, they just had Sheamus and Rusev work twice.

Live title match to air on WWE Network

WWE has announced that Sheamus will face Rusev for the U.S. Title on WWE Network immediately following Raw. WWE issued the following press release to promote the match.

WWE Planning Next Feud for Rusev (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

WWE creative is reportedly having discussions of a feud between Rusev and Sheamus for the WWE United States title. The feud would happen after Rusev wraps up his current one with Big Show.

The feud would reportedly see Rusev win the title from Sheamus in order to allow Rusev to get heat from bragging about being the US champion.

Opinionated View- Just shows how little I care about the US title I actually for Sheamus had it. I really am disappointed as I thought Rusev has potential but he just hasn't developed. Part of that is he's been facing guys with zero talent like Big E and Henry. It also doesn't help no one cars about doing a 1980's US vs Russian feud.

New Match Added to WWE Night of Champions

WWE United States champion Sheamus vs. Cesaro has been added to the 9/21 WWE Night of Champions PPV in Nashville, TN.

Already announced for the show is WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena in a Summerslam rematch.

- There are several WWE live events scheduled after Night of Champions that have a United States title match between Sheamus and Bray Wyatt advertised. It seems that this will be Wyatt's next feud after his feud with Chris Jericho (who will leave WWE again after September 21).

WWE Considering Intercontinental/United States Title Unification Match For SummerSlam

WrestleZone reports that WWE is considering adding a Intercontinental/United States Title unification match at Summerslam. The match was being discussed by WWE over the weekend and would be a Miz vs. Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler triple threat match.

Stipulation Added to Match on WWE Main Event

WWE.com has announced earlier today that the WWE United States Title match on tonight's 7/8 WWE Main Event at 8PM ET on the WWE Network between champion Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio will be a Last Man Standing Match. Sheamus & Del Rio had been doing Last Man Standing matches on the live events this past weekend.

Match Set for Main Event, Cena on Smackdown

WWE United States Champion Sheamus vs. Cesaro is scheduled for tomorrow night's live 5/13 WWE Main Event from Greensboro, North Carolina on the WWE Network.

Talk of Unifying US and Intercontinental Titles Comes Up Again

- F4WOnline.com reports that there have been discussions, yet again, in the WWE to unify the Intercontinental and US titles. However, with WWE gearing up for a European tour, with Bad News Barrett and Sheamus both holding titles, there may be more rumor than truth to the story as of now.

Cena on Main Event, Title Match set for Smackdown

Sheamus will defend his newly won WWE United States Championship on this week's 5/9 WWE Smackdown on Syfy. His opponent has yet to be named. That match will be taped on Tuesday night from Buffalo, New York.

US and IC Titles to Unified?

- Following the unification of the World and WWE Titles at WWE Tables, Ladders, & Chairs in December, the current word is that the secondary titles are going to be merged as well. There was reportedly a lot of talk backstage that a unification match between Intercontinental champion Big E Langston and United States champion Dean Ambrose will take place at the Elimination Chamber.
