Curtis Axel worked the last set of NXT TV tapings and will be facing Hideo Itami on a future episode of NXT TV. Word is that Axel will take over the role previously held by Tyson Kidd in NXT. That is to be the main roster guy that adds some star power to the brand, while helping to prepare developmental talents for the main roster.

Update On Curtis Axel’s WWE Return

 Curtis Axel returned to WWE during last night’s episode of Main Event. He beat Justin Gabriel. This was his first TV match (outside of a match taped for Superstars this week) since Ryback was injured several months ago. Michael Cole said on the broadcast that Axel had been dealing with his own injury.

Details on Curtis Axel's Injury

- As previously reported, Curtis Axel was kept off the Hell in a Cell PPV kickoff show due to an injury. Axel reportedly suffered a hip flexor injury on Raw and the company didn't know whether he would be able to work until Friday, which is why nothing was announced until today.

Several people are said to be "down" about the injury, as Axel is popular and seen as someone who works hard and does whatever is asked of him. There's no word on how long he'll be out.

- With only five matches official for the PPV broadcast of Sunday's Battleground PPV, WWE is considering adding one or two matches to the card. Matches being discussed are Kofi Kingston vs. Bray Wyatt and or Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Both matches had some set up last night on Raw. 

Opinionated View- Well they are going to have to add more matches. Hopefully WWE will put Wyatt over Kofi strong. As for R-Truth vs Axel I guess that means Botchamania will have plenty of stuff to post.
