News and Notes for Survivor Series Pre Show

It was announced on WWE Raw tonight that a “new and improved” Fandango, with Rosa Mendes, will be in action during the WWE Survivor Series kickoff show. Also announced was the return of Bad News Barrett, who will be delivering some bad news. Paul Heyman will be on the show as well, most likely as a panelist.

Opinionated View- Paried up with Rosa well that is the kiss of death for Fandango. Barrett has talent but this gimmick was going no where. Who cares about Heyman anymore.

The Latest Update on Fandango and Summer Rae (SPOILERS)

- Starting on Friday's Smackdown, Fandango will be paired with Layla, who does have a dance background. This will end the pairing of Fandango and Summer Rae, who have been teasing a break up on social media all week. Word is that Summer Rae is in line for a big push, due to her popularity taking off since she started appearing on the Total Divas show.

Opinionated View- I have said in the past I think Summer has potential but so does Fandago and now the guy is stuck with freaking Layla. Honestly I don't think Summer is ready for a big singles push.

More Detailed Smackdown Spoilers For Next Week

https://www.facebook.com/RealWrestlingNewsAndOpinionatedViews

Alex Riley and Michael Cole were on commentary.

Alberto Del rio came out and thanked everybody for nothing. He criticized the crowd for not supporting him as champion and said Vickie Guerrero will let him choose his SummerSlam opponent like Brad Maddox let John Cena. After a drum roll, he chose Ricardo Rodriguez. Vickie came out and didn't allow it. She announced a Triple Threat match between Rob Van Dam, Randy Orton, and Christian that would determine Del Rio's SummerSlam opponent.

Highlights aired of Cody Rhodes throwing Damien Sandow's briefcase into the Gulf of Mexico.

1. Cody Rhodes pinned Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter). Before the match, Zeb cut a promo about Sam Houston being disgusted if he saw what kind of people were outside the Toyota Center. The promo was cut short when Cody knocked mic out of his hand.  Rhodes won a very short match with a roll up.

Josh Matthews interviewed Cody backstage about throwing Sandow's briefcase into the Gulf of Mexico. Cody said he is tired of Sandow's arrogance and Sandow talking down to him. Sandow ended the interview by attacking Cody.

2. Big E Langston pinned Sin Cara. Big E won with The Big Ending.

Kaitlyn cut a promo in which she spoke about being from Houston and winning the Divas Title in Houston. Layla spoke about Kaitlyn being the real deal. It was an awkward exchange.

3. C.M. Punk defeated Fandango via submission. There were lots of 'C.M. Punk' chants and "you can't wrestle" chants for Fandango. Punk sold a hurt right arm throughout the match. A superplex into the Anaconda Vice ended the match.

Rob Van Dam was interviewed backstage by Renee Young. He was interrupted by Christian and Randy Orton. They all stated that they would win the Triple Threat.

4. A.J. Lee defeated Kaitlyn (w/Layla) via submission to retain the Divas Championship. During the match, Layla kept Kaitlyn from attacking A.J. outside the ring. After the match, Layla skipped out with A.J.

There was a video package on Booker T since it was "Booker T Day" in Houston.

There was a video package announcing the TLC pay-per-view for Houston on December 15.

5. Christian defeated Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat to become the No. 1 contender to the World Hvt. Championship. Christian entered to no reaction. He pandered to the Houston crowd and claimed he's walking out the No. 1 contender, which led to him getting booed. RVD entered to a loud pop. Del Rio came out and said he's going to enjoy watching the three stooges beat the guacamole out of each other. Christian ended up pinning Orton to become No. 1 contender. The finish came after Orton RKO'd Van Dam. Christian used a backslide pin for the win.

After the match, Del Rio attacked Christian while he's being interviewed by Josh Matthews. Del Rio kicked Christian in the face and laid the championship belt over his head. (Show ends here I think).

Del Rio took off Sign Guy's red hat and threw it further into the crowd. Dolph's music hit and Lilian announced a street fight for the title.

Mike Chioda calls for the bell, and Christian takes control quickly. Fandango whips Christian into the ropes, followed up with a body slam in the middle of the ring. Fandango maintains control, until Christian sends him flying out of the ring. Christian goes high and knocks Fandango down with a diving clothesline. Christian sends Fandango into the ring and goes up to the top again. Summer Rae attempts to distract him, as Christian dodges Fandango’s counter attempt, only to get caught with a front suplex into the ropes, sending Christian to the outside.

Fandango is in control of Christian as we come back from commercial. Fandango hits a cross chop after whipping him across the ring, following that up with a pinfall attempt. Christian kicks out at two, and Christian gets picked up by Fandango. Fandango rag dolls Christian into the corner, does a little dance and kicks him hard in the face. Christian gets up, and slaps the taste out of Fandango’s mouth a few times, and Christian hits a diving elbow drop, and begins a flurry of offense before pinning Fandango, only to get two. Christian goes up to the top for his patented crossbody, but Fandango rolls through and pins Christian, only to get two as well. Fandango hits a sick shoulder block, but Christian tries to hit the Killswitch, after getting picked up, as both men counter each other’s moves once, resulting in a jump kick by Fandango. Raw Rebound: Heyman gets CAWLED OWT~ by CM Punk.

Natalya & Layla vs. Alicia Fox & Aksana
Would I be wrong when I say that this match may be short? Anyways, Nattie and Aksana start the match, where Natalya quickly locks in a leg submission on Aksana. Aksana maintains head control, until Natalya hits the snapmare into the sharpshooter attempt, but Aksana gets to the ropes. Aksana begs her off for a time out, and extends her hand for a handshake, and Nattie stomps her hand. Aksana tags in Alicia, who takes control of Natalya very quickly, attempting the same trick that Natalya did, only for Nattie to take advantage. Layla gets tagged in, and takes control herself. Layla goes for the LOL, but Alicia hits a sweet dropkick for two separate pinfall attempts. Aksana gets tagged in, and drops Layla with a low kick and pins her for a two count. Aksana controls Layla in the corner, until she counters with a kick in the boo-tay. Layla tries to tag Nattie, but doesn’t get the tag, as Aksana cuts her off and knocks Nattie to the apron. Layla with the Chick Kick and Layla takes the match!
Winner via Chick Kick: Layla and Natalya
Up Next: John Cena makes a historic decision regarding the WWE Championship Match at SummerSlam 2013!
*commercial break*
At SummerSlam: The Cenation Commander takes on the Ultimate YES! Man! John Cena v. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship!
*commercial break*
On SmackDown: Chris Jericho v. Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Championship!
Justin Gabriel vs. Heath Slater
First of all, DON’T HINDER JINDER. Secondly, Heath Slater takes rear control to start, as Slater and Gabriel trade holds, until Slater arm drags Gabriel into the corner. Justin Gabriel hits a shoulder block on Slater, followed by a stylish arm drag. Gabriel and Slater start a woo-off, until Gabriel hits a hurricanrana to send Slater to the outside. Slater gets rolled back into the ring and Drew catches Gabriel with a sweep of the legs while he was standing on the apron. Heath Slater takes advantage of the distraction as he begins to increase his control as we go to commercial!
*commercial break*
Gabriel gets KICKED IN HIS CHEST by Slater as we come back from commercial. Slater keeps Gabriel grounded until a pin attempt was made by Slater, which wasn’t counted by the ref. Slater argues with the ref, allowing Gabriel to take control for a small period of time, until Slater drops him with a boot. Slater goes up to the top and attempts a high flying maneuver, and Gabriel moves out the way! Gabriel begins taking control until the Wyatt Family interrupts and attacks both men in the ring.
No Winner due to Wyatt Family Interference.

7/5 WWE Smackdown Report

WWE hopes that you have enjoyed your Fourth of July because if you have not had enough fireworks, we will see CM Punk return to Smackdown. What does CM Punk have in store for the show where they fight on Friday night?
We are in Topeka, Kansas and your announcers are John ‘Rock Chalk Justin Hawk’ Layfield and Michael ‘How can we be so close to Manhattan when we are in Kansas’ Cole.
Our special guest makes his way to the ring so CM Punk can address the crowd. Before that happens, we see what happened on Raw when CM Punk and Curtis Axel were part of a tag team match against Darren Young and Titus O’Neil.
Punk stands under the blue briefcase and he waits for the crowd to quiet down.
He says that if he was John Cena, he would give a very heartfelt speech about the Fourth of July and how much it means to be an American and how America was built on hustle, loyalty, and respect. Punk reminds everyone that he is not John Cena and he has a drastically different point of view than Cena.
He says that the Fourth of July means independence to him. It is a time when like minded individuals decided that they were not going to conform to someone else’s rules. They were going to make their own rules and blaze their own trail and die for it if necessary.
Punk says that independence is important to him and if someone tells him that he has a series of rules to follow, he will break them. If he is told something and even if it was a smart idea, he was going to run away from it. When he was told that he would be the biggest thing after Wrestlemania, but he walked away. When he was told that Paul Heyman was a major asset for him at ringside, he told Paul to stay in the back.
Regardless of how good his track record is in Money in the Bank matches, he was told that the odds were against him in the All-Stars Money in the Bank match. That is why he lined everyone up and told them what he thought of them to prove them wrong.
He is a simple guy with simple needs. He has two simple goals. The first one is to get his hands on Brock Lesnar. He will get his hands on Brock and hold him accountable for the F-5 that Brock gave him on Raw. His second goal . . . and he looks at the briefcase and it is to win the Money in the Bank match and become WWE Champion again.
He says that those are his two basic goals and he has no problem telling everyone.
Alberto Del Rio’s music plays and Punk mentions that he is not done.
Alberto says that he was expecting more from CM Punk.
Punk says that Del Rio was expecting more from him, but Punk says that he was expecting more from Del Rio, like a cool car. Instead it is just him in a cheap suit. He wants to know what Del Rio wants.
Del Rio says that it is not about what he wants, it is about who he is. He is the World Heavyweight Champion. This is his show.
Punk agrees that Del Rio is the World Champion, but title or no title, it has never been his show. They air on Mundos and it isn’t even Del Rio’s show. He wants to know what Del Rio wants.
Del Rio says that Punk is always making jokes. He asks Punk if they know how his people celebrated their holiday. They stuffed their faces in their backyards eating hot dogs, hamburgers, and French fries. They celebrate their freedom by watching television all day and play with the internet. They get fatter and fatter and fatter and fatter every day. Then they come to Smackdown and they cheer a filthy little pig named Dolph Ziggler who disrespected the Mexican culture and ruined his fiesta.
Then they chant USA (and the crowd starts the chant). They chant USA because they are nothing but a bunch of sheep.
Punk asks Alberto if he is the same guy who came out and championed how awesome America was until a few weeks ago. He was starting the USA chants talking about how fantastic America is. Now he is criticizing them because they saw through his Born in Mexico, Made in America crap?
They chant USA and boo Del Rio, not because he is from Mexico. It is because he tried to put on this façade and acted like a phony America. They see through him and they see Del Rio as the phony he is.
Del Rio says that Punk is always barking. He calls Punk a Chihuahua and someone needs to teach him some manners. Del Rio reminds Punk that he is the World . . . Heavyweight . . . Champion.
Punk tells Del Rio that he is the number one contender to his title of Best in the World. He doesn’t chase Del Rio, Del Rio chases him. He doesn’t interrupt Del Rio, it was Alberto who interrupted him.
Alberto says that this is his world, his show, and his ring. He orders Punk to leave right now.
Punk says that it sounds painfully like Alberto is telling him to do something. Punk says that it might be smart, but he is going to stay in the ring until Del Rio makes him leave the ring.
As we approach TeddyCon 2, it is time for Teddy Long’s music to play and he has an even number of people in the ring so we might be getting a match for later in the show.
Teddy tells the playas to wait a minute. He says that we had fireworks for the Fourth of July, but thanks to Del Rio and Punk, we are going to have fireworks in the main event. Alberto Del Rio will face CM Punk.
We go to commercial.
We are back and CM Punk is in the locker room and Paul Heyman enters. Paul says that he is honoring Punk’s request to stay out of his business. He wants to ask Punk something as his best friend. Punk says that he is just a friend. Paul says that this match is a bad idea because he has everything to lose and nothing to gain.
Punk agrees with Paul that this is a situation where he has nothing to gain and everything to lose. Punk says that he will fight him anyway.
Paul talks about the Money in the Bank match. He talks about how the winner will be guaranteed the WWE Title. He says that Punk needs eyes in the back of his head and he asks to be with Punk.
Punk tells Paul, as his friend, to stay out of it.
Paul agrees and he wishes Punk luck.
Damien Sandow demands silence and he tells the slackjawed mouth breathers of the WWE Universe that they are about to witness a new era in WWE. They will be in a Money in the Bank match for a World Title contract. For those who are wagging their tongues over the thought of the decimation of the Rhodes Scholars, they could not be any more incorrect.
Cody says that the best man will win and Damien agrees.
Match Number One Jimmy and Jey Uso versus Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow
Cody and Jimmy start things off and Cody with a top wrist lock and he sends Jimmy into the turnbuckles but Jimmy with an uppercut and he sends Cody into the turnbuckles. The Shield appear on the TitanTron and they congratulate them on being able to combine unlimited potential and talent with a string of luck. Last week, they got lucky with Christian and got one by on the Shield. Seth says that they might think that they are no longer invincible, but it means that they are more focused than ever. They will not be lucky after Money in the Bank.
Roman says that they will need more than luck to beat them at Money in the Bank. Roman says that they will put the Usos back in their place.
Ambrose says that he showed Christian his place after Raw. One out of one hundred times, you might beat him. Monday was the first of ninety-nine in a row where he will win. Dean tells everyone to wait for him to be lurking in the shadows with the Money in the Bank briefcase. He says that he will win the Money in the Bank ladder match and he will own the world.
He tells everyone to believe in the Shield.
We go to commercial.
We are back and we are reminded that Vickie Guerrero will get her Job Evaluation on Raw.
We see what happened on Raw after Kaitlyn defeated Alicia Fox between AJ and Kaitlyn.

Brie stops AJ and tells her that she will listen to them because the title will be theirs very soon.
AJ tells Big E that they need to get out of here because Kaitlyn is chasing after her. Big E asks about Dolph and AJ says that she will text him later. AJ tells Big E to get the car and she tells Big E to run and get his knees up.
We take a look back at Daniel Bryan’s refereeing job in the Randy Orton and Kane match.
Renee Young is in the interview area with Christian and Randy Orton. Renee asks them about their rivalry and how it will continue tonight.
Christian says that he has already beaten Randy Orton for the World Title. He will put everyone on notice after he wins tonight and then goes on to win the Money in the Bank ladder match.
Randy says that Christian will learn first hand why he is the man who everyone should worry about at Money in the Bank in his One More Match.
Michael Cole mentions the Wyatt Family and John says that they are coming on Monday night. He says that there has not been a bigger debut than this.
We see the video package that ended Raw.

Paul Heyman enters and he says that people are telling him that Teddy wants to talk to him.
Teddy says that he wants Paul to sit with Michael Cole and John Layfield on commentary.
Paul says no because he will not get involved in CM Punk’s matches any more.
Teddy says that he thinks that Paul can provide a lot of insight about CM Punk on commentary. He also reminds Paul of what Punk said earlier about walking the opposite direction of what people tell him to do. Teddy says that he is in charge and since Punk says that Paul does not go out there, Paul has to go out tonight.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring. We see footage from the WWE App showing some possible tension between Dolph and AJ Lee over the situation with Kaitlyn.
Dolph says that the last few months have been a blur. There is one thing and one memory that he will never forget. The night that he defeated Alberto Del Rio to become the World Champion. After that, things get a little fuzzy. He just came back from a concussion and he had a giant target on his head and Del Rio took advantage of that. He does not remember too much after that.
This is not ballet. What he does remember is a giant cheesy grin on Del Rio’s face while flailing his arms around. He talked about how much he loved America. He could not do the impossible. He could not convince you that he was likeable. Del Rio is full of crap. Dolph says that he might be a lot of things, but he does not claim to be something he is not. Fandango Pulled From Payback PPV

WWE.com just issued the following at 7:40 p.m. Eastern tonight:
"Although Fandango still has tests to take, WWE management decided that in the interest of safety, he will not compete this Sunday at WWE Payback. There is no official word on who might replace him in the Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match. Stay with tonight’s Raw and WWE.com for further updates."

Backstage Update on Fandango's Reported Concussion; Is it a Work?

According to sources within WWE, the Fandango concussion is indeed real, and is not part of a story line despite being reported by WWE.com. Fandango suffered the concussion at last week's Smackdown tapings and as of this writing there is no time table on his return.

As we reported last week, WWE is taking concussions and concussion symptoms very seriously following Dolph Ziggler's recent injury, so although Fandango passed his impact testing, WWE is likely being extra cautious.

Fandango Suffers Concussion

From WWE.com:

WWE.com sources have reported that Fandango suffered a concussion during the SmackDown taping on Tuesday night and was pulled from WWE Live Events throughout the week.

Fandango passed his impact test, but has yet to pass further testing needed for clearance.

There is speculation backstage at the Richmond Coliseum — the site of tonight’s Raw — as to how this will affect the scheduled Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match at WWE Payback this Sunday pitting the dancing Superstar and The Miz against reigning titleholder Wade Barrett.

Stay with WWE.com for further details as they become available
