Daniel Bryan’s Injury Is Concussion-Related

– According to WON, Daniel Bryan’s injury is a concussion that occurred during his match with Sheamus at the Smackdown tapings after WrestleMania. The issue is described as career-threatening. People within WWE have known about it for some time but were told to keep it quiet and WWE issued denials after the initial reports came out when Bryan was sent home from the European tour.
It is believed that the concussion issues were denied because Bryan worked some matches after it was suffered, which would reflect badly on the company.

Backstage Reaction To Daniel Bryan's WWE Status, WWE Considering A Non-Wrestling Role?, More

WWE officials were hoping to get Daniel Bryan back in the ring this month and have him defend the Intercontinental Title against King Barrett this Sunday at the Payback pay-per-view but as noted, they got MRI results back on May 8th and it was determined that Bryan would not be able to return any time soon, if ever again.
The situation has brought a lot of frustration within WWE. WWE officials want what's best for Bryan but they obviously want him working for the company and want him on TV as they have a DVD and other products coming out that need to be promoted. There has been some talk that Bryan is now so injury-prone that maybe they could best use him in a non-wrestling position.
Since Monday's RAW where he dropped the Intercontinental Title, the talk has been that Bryan is trying to figure out a way to get cleared. There's been no word yet if Bryan will be getting the surgery that he was so reluctant to get before but people are wondering if that's an option. Needless to say, a lot of people in the company really feel bad for Bryan right now.

Opinionated View- I think he should get the surgery if he has doctor's telling him to do it and it's clear his efforts to rehab didn't help. Sadly we may also have seen the end of Daniel Bryan in the ring.

WWE Claims That Daniel Bryan Did Not Suffer a Concussion

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez both discussed Daniel Bryan’s current injury issues on The Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestlezone.com). Previous reports indicated that Bryan suffered a concussion at the March 31 Smackdown tapings. As a result, he was sent home from the WWE European Tour as a “precautionary measure.”
On the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said that Bryan was sent home because of a concussion he suffered during his Smackdown match against Sheamus. WWE is apparently denying the claim that Bryan suffered a concussion at the tapings, and apparently company officials would only say that that Bryan is “banged up.” However, Meltzer and Alvarez maintain that Bryan is out due to the concussion issue

Daniel Bryan Reportedly Suffered Concussion Before European Tour

As previously reported, Daniel Bryan was sent home from WWE’s European tour as a precautionary measure. The Wrestling Observer reports that according to those on the tour, Bryan appears to have suffered a concussion at the March 31st Smackdown tapings.

It is likely that WWE didn’t have the diagnosis until this week, as they wouldn’t have let him compete if they’d known. He was officially diagnosed after the Smackdown taping this week and WWE then decided to pull him from the tour

Daniel Bryan is reportedly have trouble with his health. He’s still having problems related to his injury last year and is said to be in “rough shape”. Cover Art and Synopsis For Daniel Bryan’s New Book

The synopsis and cover art for Daniel Bryan’s book YES!: My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania. The book goes on sale via St. Martin’s Press on July 21st, 2015 and has a cover price of $25.99. The synopsis is as follows:

Do people cheer for the underdog? YES! Does professional wrestling still hold a special place in the hearts of sports fans? YES! Is the man who began the WWE fan-driven YES! Movement the most popular Superstar in the WWE Universe? Emphatically – YES! Daniel Bryan is everyone’s favorite underdog. What started early in his career as a simple rallying cry – YES! – has become synonymous not only with wrestling fans worldwide but with everybody who ever pulls for the little guy to climb the mountaintop. In his electrifying memoir YES!: My Improbable Journey to the Main Event of WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan takes the reader from all the backwoods wrestling outposts at the onset of his career to the pinnacle of his profession – heavyweight champion of WWE!

From the time he was a little boy in rural Washington state all Daniel Bryan wanted to do was become a wrestler. Although small in stature he was blessed with great athleticism but even more importantly – a huge heart. Bryan immersed himself in the sport and in his training like a whirling dervish. After more than a decade of beating the bushes of every wrestling event stop in the US, Mexico, Japan and Europe, Bryan found himself on the cusp on making the WWE lineup, his improbable rise nearly complete.

Along the way Bryan’s mettle inside and outside the ring would be tested and strong friendships formed, while the fans take notice of the underdog without any quit in him. When his “YES!” chant becomes a full-fledged movement his career skyrockets. And standing at his side, his rock of support, is the love of his life, Brianna (herself a Superstar in the WWE’s Total Divas). It all leads up to the most incredible event in WWE history – WrestleMania 30 – and the crowning of a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

YES! chronicles the hard work, values, influences, and unique life choices – such as devotion to sustainability and protecting the environment – that have become the hallmark of the life and career of everyone’s most beloved underdog.

The press release includes the following quotes about Bryan:
Shawn Michaels: “I knew at first glance what a talented young man he was…His work ethic, his integrity, his dedication, all of that stuff was phenomenal.”
Triple H: “Daniel is the crossover of so many of those factors that make a Superstar…He’s got charisma. He’s got personality. He’s different…There’s a truth to what he says.”
Brie Bella: “Bryan’s humble spirit and gracious heart are why I fell in love with him. His brilliance in the ring confirms why we love watching this incredible WWE Superstar.”

WWE Holding Daniel Bryan Back For Health Reasons?

Daniel Bryan’s not being in the WWE World Heavyweight Title match is due in large part to concerns over his health. The site reports that officials are worried that the neck injury that kept him on the shelf last year could come popping back up as a recurring problem.

The concern among officials is that Bryan went for the short-term solution to fix his neck as opposed to a more long-term fix. One source compared Bryan’s situation to that of Kurt Angle, as Angle underwent several non-invasive surgeries on his neck that helped in the short-term but caused further injuries and other issues in the long-term.
