Tommy Dreamer Comments on The Allegations Against Bill DeMott

Tommy Dreamer recently spoke to Buster Open Radio about the recent allegations of abuse against NXT trainer Bill DeMott. Here are the highlights…
“I ran the WWE developmental center, I ran OVW, and I ran Deep South. I like to say that wrestling training is different. When I was trained by Johnny Rodz, I was stretched in holds to the point of crying. I remember sometimes driving back on the BQE, and my hands were literally shaking, because I was stretched. I was pushed to a peak physically. With that being said, that is training. I think there could be some merit, but it doesn’t help that these accusations are coming from ex-talent. Because then it looks like its sour grapes. It would have to come from someone, and no one would speak up, if they are current talent or just walked away. I walked away from the WWE because I was not happy. I was not happy, not happy because of something that anybody did to me. I just wasn’t happy at my job, so then I walked away.
Training is hard. This business is very, very hard. I have my own wrestling school. I don’t believe in going in and beating people up, but Bubba Ray and Lance Storm have schools as well, and they will look at it and say “if some of these people were actually in a real fight, or beat up, they would learn how to sell.”When I was there, I had one problem with the WWE developmental center. I went down there and kicked everyone out. I said “guys, gals, I hired each and every one of you. I need to know if something is wrong so I can fix if for you. If you don’t want to tell me, you can tell me privately.” I handed every single one of them, all sixty of them clipboards with my hotel and you can meet me privately. Not one person stepped up. If there was a problem I had with Bill DeMott, or any of my trainers, I would go to my boss, who would then go to Vince McMahon. When I did have a problem with Bill, I said let’s put a video camera in there. They said “ok, no problem.” I never had a problem with Bill personally or professionally, and I do think he is a good trainer. Not all coaches like their players. I’ve seen on Twitter people stick up for Bill, and I have seen people not stick up for Bill. Everybody’s situation is different. If there were homophobic slurs, then yes that has to be addressed. I know that when he worked for me, everything that I asked, he did. I had a problem where someone brought up racism. I said “hey let me hear it”. Then no one said anything. I was willing to help you. There were no ramifications, no ramifications whatsoever. Let me cure this problem, then there would have been no problems.”

Tommy Dreamer Reveals House of Hardcore to Make iPPV Debut in November

- Speaking to PWInsider, Tommy Dreamer revealed that House of Hardcore will make its promotional iPPV debut at House of Hardcore VII. The event is set for November 15 at the ECW Arena.

In addition, Dreamer said the event would be the last ever appearance of him and his wife, Beulah McGillicutty. According to Dreamer, it will be McGillicutty’s last ever ringside appearance for a wrestling event.

The iPPV details are still being worked out but will reportedly be announced soon. Dreamer also said we should expect “big, big surprises” at the event.

Team 3D’s Bound For Glory Match a Last-Minute Decision

- The Wrestling Observer reports that TNA and Wrestle-1 were still working on the card for Bound for Glory on Monday, just before it was announced. The site notes that the Team 3D vs. Abyss and Tommy Dreamer match was put together simply because Team 3D had no one else to face on the card.

The original plan was to have Abyss in a singles match against Bram, but they went in another direction. As of this point Bram still does not have an opponent for the show.

News and Notes From TNA NYC Tapings

- The company has reportedly been happy with attendance at the New York shows this week. The attendance has been just about on par with the last set of tapings and if the show tonight draws well, they may end up with a bigger overall total of fans this time around. The feeling is that the recent quality of the show and positive word of mouth has helped. 

- Low Ki landed on the back of his head on the ramp taking a bump at last night's tapings. Word is that he is "OK" and it is nothing major. 

- The company has been happy with the local publicity that they have been getting for the tapings, especially how it relates to the buzz Chris Melendez received. 

- Jeremy Borash told the live crowd at last night's tapings that there would be "surprises" at tonight's tapings.

- Tommy Dreamer was working as an agent at last night's tapings. 

TNA has booked the Manhattan Center for another set of tapings in September. 

- Scott Fishman of Spike TV was backstage at last night's Impact Wrestling tapings.

- Sheri Shepard (who is friends with MVP), Jenny McCarthy and rapper Wale were in attendance at last night's TNA tapings.

Tommy Dreamer To Keep Working As An Agent (Spoilers)

- Tommy Dreamer is expected to keep working with TNA as an agent. However, the New York City taping that was meant to write off Dixie Carter (after she went through the table) from television was also meant to be Dreamer's final appearance in the current storylines as well. 

Opinionated View- I'm very happy to hear that. I like Tommy and have enjoyed his segments lately but I don't want to see him back full time in the ring full time. Let him be a part of this story and be done.

Tommy Dreamer to Appear on Impact Wrestling This Week

TNA has announced that Tommy Dreamer will appear at the Impact Wrestling tapings this week in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The company is expected to continue the angle that was started at Dreamer's recent "House of Hardcore" event where he cut a promo against TNA President Dixie Carter regarding Bully Ray being pulled from the show.

Tommy Dreamer Working as Agent Again for TNA

Tommy Dreamer was back working as an agent for TNA at the 3/9 Lockdown PPV in Miami. Dreamer had been working as an agent for TNA prior to the UK tour. The main agents in TNA now include Dreamer, Al Snow, Pat Kenney, Bully Ray and Abyss.

- Taz is currently recruiting independent talent for TNA, working directly with "Big" John Gaburick.

- Tommy Dreamer will be working regularly as an agent for the company at their upcoming TV tapings.

- The One Night Only: Joker's Wild PPV, which was taped in the UK, will air between May and July. The One Night Only PPV with the Wrestle-1 promotion will likely air in August.

Tommy Dreamer now appears to be working backstage in TNA. Dreamer has recently worked a couple of One Night Only PPV's for TNA. Bully Ray posted the following on Twitter.

Opinionated View- Dreamer has previous worked for WWE and ECW backstage. It will be interesting to see how this pays off long term.

Tommy Dreamer-TNA Update

While Tommy Dreamer worked TNA live events and PPV tapings over the weekend, he has not signed a deal with TNA. Dreamer initially agreed to work "Old School" show for TNA and then was added to the Hardcore Justice PPV

Opinionated View- I'd be fine with Tommy coming in and working as a agent or something but at this stage I don't want him back as full time wrestler even if it is just to put guys over.

More on Bully Ray Appearing House of Hardcore

As we reported earlier, TNA ran a cross promotion angle last night at Tommy Dreamer's House Of Hardcore event in Poughkeepsie, NY. TNA Wrestler Bully Ray came out and attacked Former TNA Star Tommy Dreamer and challenged him to a match at TNA's upcoming One Night Only pay per view event to be held on Monday December 30.

PWinsider.com is now reporting further details on the angle. The angle was reportedly put together as both events are set to be held in the same building. The idea was to create a completely new and fresh idea for an angle in exchange for raising the profile of Dreamer's House Of Hardcore promotion. The report states that this is a one-off match for Dreamer and he has not signed a deal with TNA to wrestle for the promotion beyond this match.

Opinionated View- I love them doing this. Why I'm not so high on doing stuff with the ECW guys in 2013 the idea of using other companies I love. We already have seen TNA do stuff with AAA and Wrestle 1 for AJ and I would to see them keep this going. It just makes wrestling more exciting to watch  Hell I would love if they could work a deal with ROH or AAA for some kind of invasion on Impact. 

Bully Ray Appears at House of Hardcore: New TNA One Night Only Taping Set

On Saturday night in Poughkeepsie, New York, Tommy Dreamer's "House of Hardcore" promotion held a live event - and all hell broke loose when BULLY RAY made a surprise appearance! After the main event match featuring Dreamer teaming with the legendary Terry Funk, Dreamer was thanking the fans for attending when Bully Ray hit the ring and attacked both Dreamer and Funk with a steel chain! Bully Ray was irate that Dreamer didn't invite him to the event, and challenged Dreamer to face him in a "Falls Counting Anywhere Street Fight" at TNA's "One Night Only: #OldSchool" in Poughkeepsie on Monday, December 30! Bully Ray's attack also featured a reunion with Devon as the longtime Tag Team fought off everyone trying to help Dreamer and Funk!

House of Hardcore 2 News: iPPV VOD Available, Attendance, More

- The Video on Demand iPPV for House of Hardcore 2 is now available online here.

- The crowd for the show was in the 1,000 to 1,100 range, which Tommy Dreamer said was a profit for the promotion. Dreamer noted on Sunday that he will be running a third show sometime this year, probably in the fall. He said that he is spacing things out in order to ensure that the shows are meaningful when they take place and don't conflict with other big events.

- Ric Flair did an autograph signing before the show but didn't work or appear on the show. He was there with JJ Dillon and his girlfriend, Fifi the Maid from WCW. They left before the show began.

- Brian Kendrick worked the show despite suffering a neck injury the previous night. Crowbar worked with a tricep tear; he had intended his match to be his retirement match, but didn't tell House of Hardcore ahead of time and changed his mind mid-match.

Great show, worth watching. Matt Striker cut a SCATHING promo before the show on WWE, including their commentary. He provided commentary up until he was injured and eliminated from the Rumble.
