Dixie Carter Reportedly Instructs TNA Talents To Ignore Reports About Viewership

TNA President Dixie Carter held a meeting at this past weekend's Impact Wrestling tapings and basically told the talents not to believe what they read on wrestling websites about the ratings and viewership being down.

Dixie claimed that there is ratings information that websites aren't aware of that she and TNA are privy to. She claimed that when websites publish TNA ratings data, we're not publishing them with the West Coast numbers included but we post the data that comes from Nielsen and we do include the overall viewership with numbers for the replay. Dixie also pointed out that websites don't report on the +.3 or +.7 DVR numbers as some fans watch throughout the week.

Dixie instructed the roster to pay no mind to ratings reports because the numbers are better than what's actually being released.
Opinionated View- What sad is you know the IWC will claim Dixie doesn't know what she is talking about. But it wouldn't shock me if the net isn't on the level. Simple fact all the stuff people claim to know at best is third hand info. Here's what I know Dixie is the one running the company.

Update on Dixie Carter Reailty Show Project

We noted before that TNA President Dixie Carter had a film crew following her around at Friday's tapings, presumably for a reality TV show that she has wanted to get off the ground for some time. Apparently the material filmed on Friday was shot so they can insert "current" footage with the existing pitch reel that was created a while back.

It was reported back in January 2014 that TNA's production team began working on a demo reel for a potential Dixie reality TV show with the idea that it would be shopped around to networks. This reel is what the new footage will be added to and it was done by a company in Dallas that Dixie has ties to. Dixie previously tried to get on The Real Housewives of Nashville reality show but it obviously never worked out.

Dixie Carter Being Filmed for New Reality

TNA President Dixie Carter was reportedly being filmed by cameras all day during yesterday’s Impact Wrestling in Florida. The filming was said to be for a new potential reality TV project. Carter has wanted to get a new reality show off the ground for a while

Opinionated View- Well it can't be any worse than Total Divas. It would be interesting if it would be about Dixie or covering TNA as a whole.

Dixie Carter Says Former World Champion Guest Ref is not a Current Roster Member

TNA President Dixie Carter posted the following on Twitter today, teasing that a former TNA World Champion would be the special guest referee for the Kurt Angle/Eric Young TNA Title match on tonight's live 5/8 Impact Wrestling on Destination America:

"If TONIGHT's Special Referee in the main event is a former World Champ but NOT a current roster member, that only leaves 8 names #ImpactLIVE"

Opinionated View- Well there goes my theory it's Aries.

Dixie Carter Announces New TNA Show For Destination America

Dixie Carter has announced a new TNA show for Destination America on Twitter. She wrote:

Dixie Carter         @TNADixie
See @IMPACWRESTLING in a whole new way with the brand new IMPACT WRESTLING: UNLOCKED on @DestAmerica Saturdays at 10AM ET starting Jan 17!

The news was also revealed in a press release earlier this week about TNA’s move to the network. Here’s the official description: Check out IMPACT WRESTLING: UNLOCKED on Saturdays from 10 AM-12 PM ET beginning January 17 for a reloaded edition of the previous week’s IMPACT WRESTLING that will be a whole new viewing experience featuring extra content and never-before-seen footage.

Opinionated View- Very excited about this. Yeah Spike gave TNA second shows at times but it was always right after Impact. To me having a second show at a different time will do more to promote Impact. Maybe some kid (since they don't have cartoons anymore) is flipping channels on Saturday sees TNA and becomes a fan.

Dixie Carter Comments on TNA TV Situation

TNA President Dixie Carter responded to a fan question earlier today on Twitter about when TNA will be announcing a new TV deal with the following:
"Soon..."
The belief is that TNA has indeed signed a new TV deal and will be announcing it shortly according to a report by Mike Johnson. Spike TV and a TV network owned by Discovery Channel, either Velocity and Destination America, are said to be the top two networks that TNA has been negotitating with in recent months.
Opinionated View- Sadly today has been one of those day the freaking IWC vultures have been all over declaring TNA is dead based on some tweet that didn't even reference TNA or wrestling.  A deal will be made I believe that its just they take time. Would you rather the pull a WWE Network and change in half assed?

Dixie Carter addresses talent, television announcement expected, popular network destination theory

TNA president Dixie Carter addressed the locker room regarding the company's television situation at one point during the multi-day television tapings in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The wrestlers were told that she believes they will have a television home on January 7 and expressed happiness with Impact airing on Wednesday nights.

Multiple TNA sources believe a new television deal could be announced as early as this week, though one source believes it could be closer to Bound For Glory time in October before anything is finalized. The most popular network name floating around the TNA locker room was WGN America.

The feeling of some within the company is that Dixie may have dropped a hint at negotiations with WGN back on September 10. "Nothing like showers and high winds to impact traffic and my hair in the Windy City this am," she wrote on her Twitter page. While there's no telling what she was doing in Chicago that day, the locker room speculation stems from the fact that WGN America is owned by Tribune Media Company, which is based in Chicago. The Velocity network has also been rumored, and Spike TV has publicly claimed to be in negotiations with TNA.

Dixie Carter Comments on Spike TV, NYC, and More

Ring Rust Radio with Dixie Carter
Hosts: Donald Wood, Mike Chiari, and Brandon Galvin
Audio available at Blogtalkradio.com/ringrustradio
Dixie on going through a table on Impact: "I think if you've been watching lately the show has been, in my opinion, some of the best programming that we've been putting out. I'm so excited about it. I'm just thrilled to see how many of these young talents that we've debuted in the last six, eight, nine months in such a prominent role. And at the same time we're starting to have such amazing increases in ratings, so that makes me really proud. (Tonight) is a big night for us. I would happen to call it must-see TV and if you haven't tuned in in a while it would definitely be a show to catch."
Dixie on running in New York City: "It's one of those things, we wanted to play here. We're like, 'Let's bring a pay-per-view,' and then we couldn't get the dates cleared. Do we play across the river in New Jersey? Do we play in the city? It's like what are we waiting for? We need to bring TV there. This was such a great idea. I'm thrilled that we did it. The crowds have been phenomenal. I loved bringing back the six-sided ring here.  It's been very, very special and I think it's really contributed to how great the shows feel."
Dixie on whether she has considered working a match: "I said I would never be on TV and I am. I don't think I ever said I wouldn't take a bump, but the answer is no, though. No desire to do a match, I'm going to have to draw the line somewhere. To be honest I've really enjoyed the last few months. I have loved working with all of these young, new talents that I get to: Rockstar Spud and Ethan (Carter III) and Magnus before that. It's just been a lot of fun and I finally just said, 'You know what, you don't care, just let go and have fun with it.' And that's exactly what I've tried to do."
Dixie on criticism of her table spot featuring male on female violence: "We have taken man-on-female violence I would say even more seriously from Day One than even a chair shot. That has been banned from the beginning and it took us a while, but chair shots are not right and going to be handled either. It's very important to our network that this happened. It's why we have done my character a certain way. It's why we've treated this with the 'Boss Toss' and we've tried to take it more tongue in cheek. And we also have a disclaimer before this show saying it's not something that we condone. It's a spot and it's an end to a four-month story of something that I have continuously put myself in this position, and we've tried to make it as light as possible."
Carter on Bound For Glory being held in Japan and whether there will be tape delays in North America: "I don't have that exact information yet as far as the airing is concerned. I think it should be in the exact same time it always is. That's my understanding. I feel like we're having such tremendous global success and we really are trying to listen to the fans, and part of what they love is the Japanese-style wrestling. So, we've introduced the character Sanada into our show. The wonderfully talented Great Muta has honored us on our show. We thought it would be a great opportunity just to continue to show this international growth and take our biggest pay-per-view of the year on a global stage to Tokyo. I'm really excited about it."
Carter on what she has learned from working with wrestling minds such as Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett: "From Hulk (Hogan) and Sting and Ric Flair, all of those guys, you talk about the truly great performers, Kurt (Angle). What they do is they just let go. They don't think about it, they don't worry about it, they just be their character, and they do what's right for the company. I think when you play yourself— because I'm not playing Sanada, I'm not playing Tigre Uno or The Wolves— I'm playing the president of a company. I think for so long I just felt very business, presidential about it. It did take me just a beat to say, "You know what, you're not really playing yourself now." This is a caricature of someone who you're really not and you just need to have fun with it, so that's what I've tried to do."
Dixie on her health following the table spot: "It hurt like hell. I have such mad respect for these men and women and what they do every time. I sit there as they come backstage and they're warriors. I talk to professional football players and fighters and NBA guys, and they all tell me they could never do what these men and women do 52 weeks a year, no offseason, multiple times a week. People are like, "Is that table fake?" No, this stuff hurts, it hurts like hell. To be able to do what they do, it was just a small way of me paying respect for what they do for me personally and to our company and for the fans. So, it did hurt, you'll just have to watch and see what really does happen and then maybe I'll tell you how serious it was, but yes, I was injured."
Dixie on changes she would still like to implement: "I think if you look at us over the last six-to-nine months we've made more changes to our company that I think are really starting to resonate with our fans. Fans who may have left at some point and some people who are just now finding us, and that is really trying to listen to what our fans and viewers want to see. Bringing back the six-sided ring, that was a change. Letting the fans decide; if it had won by one vote or another it would have gone down as the fans' decision. Instead we got a landslide and made the change. The introductions just in the last nine months I counted almost 15 new talents, either brand new or completely repackaged characters that we've interviewed in the last nine months. We did not do that in the last nine years. Excuse me, not nine years, maybe five or six years. Don't hold me to the date, I don't know the math, but I'm just telling you it was years and years and years. To see some of them doing so well and in such amazing, great roles and just knocking it out of the park every night I just couldn't be more proud. I think we have undergone changes from the ring to the new characters on the show, how young our talent is to the way we're trying to tell our stories right now to the way we're going about focusing on the wrestling. I think that those have been tremendous changes. Are there more to come? Absolutely, but I'm really proud of all that we've accomplished in the past few months."
Dixie on negotiations with Spike TV: "Every two years I go through this. This is just the first public negotiation I've ever had. I think social media has really changed this kind of thing. I'm used to every two years negotiating with Spike and negotiating with other networks. This time is absolutely not any different. We're still talking with them, but there are other people, thank God, that are interested in our product. I want to grow this brand; I want to grow it domestically. I want us to be able to start having the kind of success domestically that we're having internationally. I'm not going to stop and none of us are going to stop until we get there. I'm real excited to see and I think we'll know sooner than later what's going to happen."

Dixie Carter and Bob Ryder Comment Spike TV Reports

TNA President Dixie Carter and TNA staff member Bob Ryder both issued tweets on Monday afternoon saying that negotiations between TNA and Spike TV remain ongoing. A report by TMZ late Sunday night stated that Spike TV made the decision to not renew Impact Wrestling when the deal expires in October.
A report by The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online stated that Carter held a meeting with staff on Friday where she said the company was leaving Spike TV on their "own volition" due to a lack of promotion. Other sources have stated that this is not the case and that Spike TV informed the company that would not be renewing the deal.
When reached for comment, Spike TV told Wrestleview.com: "Per Viacom company policy - we don’t comment on ongoing negotiations."
You can check out the tweets from Carter and Ryder below.
Negotiations with @SpikeTV are ongoing. Stay tuned and be sure to tune in this Thursday night for Ultimate X on !!

Reports are not true. Negotiations with @SpikeTV are ongoing.

Opinionated View- Well who are you going to believe the president of the company and a employee who has been with TNA since day 1 or Dave Once Right in Bluemoon Metzler and TMZ a trash website.

Update on Dixie Carter after TNA Tapings (SPOILERS)

TNA President Dixie Carter suffered two small broken bones in her back after taking a bump through a table from Bully Ray at the Impact Wrestling tapings in New York City last week according to a report by Mike Johnson. The injury was described as minor. The storyline of her being put through a table by Bully Ray was designed to be the end of her character on TNA television for now

Spoilers: Injury Update From TNA Tapings In New York

TNA President Dixie Carter was not at the third and final TNA Impact Wrestling taping in New York City. Those who asked where she was were told she was legitimately hurt taking her bump through a table courtesy of Bully Ray the night before.
One source I've spoken to claimed that Carter was pretty banged up, even though Bully Ray did everything humanely possible to protect her. Ray gave Carter a sit-down powerbomb through the table, similar to the spot he did with Mae Young years ago in WWE.
While Carter was protected, she is obviously not a trained wrestler. One wrestler said to me, "If you aren't calloused to it, even one bump is going to feel like a car wreck. Of course she got hurt. That was the first bump she ever took in her life."
Stories floating backstage included that Carter, 49, suffered a concussion and/or aggravated an already existing back issue. I can tell you that there are multiple sources within the company that have told me it was a legitimate injury for her, but there are also some who think it's just a work to sell the injury. Obviously, that is possible.
It should be noted that we've heard from several in the company that were impressed that Carter, literally, put her life on the line, for the company by seeing the storyline through and taking the bump.
We will see how this shakes out in the days ahead, but I was told that either way, the plan was that the bump would close out Carter's current storyline. She was stretchered out of the ringafter taking the bump.
