Backstage News from This Week’s Impact Wrestling Tapings (SPOILERS)

- With regards to the X-Division title change during last night’s Impact Wrestling TV tapings, Low Ki won the title and became the new X-Division champion last night (Sept. 19). Low Ki won a Fatal 4-Way against Tigre Uno, Manik, and DJ Z in order to win the belt.
Samoa Joe was reportedly forced to drop the title because he was injured during the first set of Impact Wrestling tapings held last Tuesday (Sept. 16). Joe tried to work through the injury, but he only made it worse by doing so. As a result, Joe was forced to vacate the title, and the belt was put on Low Ki.
The details regarding the nature Joe’s injury and the amount of time off he needs are unknown.
Opinionated View- That is disappointing for TNA as Joe has had some great matches at X-Division Champion. Hopefully Joe can heal up. If there is any bright side you have a great set up for an Joe vs Low Ki rematch.

News and Notes From TNA NYC Tapings

- The company has reportedly been happy with attendance at the New York shows this week. The attendance has been just about on par with the last set of tapings and if the show tonight draws well, they may end up with a bigger overall total of fans this time around. The feeling is that the recent quality of the show and positive word of mouth has helped.

- Low Ki landed on the back of his head on the ramp taking a bump at last night's tapings. Word is that he is "OK" and it is nothing major.

- The company has been happy with the local publicity that they have been getting for the tapings, especially how it relates to the buzz Chris Melendez received.

- Jeremy Borash told the live crowd at last night's tapings that there would be "surprises" at tonight's tapings.

- Tommy Dreamer was working as an agent at last night's tapings.

TNA has booked the Manhattan Center for another set of tapings in September.

- Scott Fishman of Spike TV was backstage at last night's Impact Wrestling tapings.

- Sheri Shepard (who is friends with MVP), Jenny McCarthy and rapper Wale were in attendance at last night's TNA tapings.

Three Names Announced For TNA Destination X

John Gaburick has announced 3 more names for #TNANYC! Appearing at Destination X: Low Ki, Homicide and Brian Cage! More names coming soon!

Opinionated View- Low Ki is not a shock he worked a One Night Only a while back and reports have been he is coming back. Cage is a good talented guy. I hope Homicide is motivated for this.

Update on Low Ki Retuning to TNA

Former WWE and TNA talent Low Ki is reportedly in the final stages of signing a new deal with TNA.
The deal will see him work for TNA as a wrestler in the X Division and as an agent for X Division matches. The hope is that Ki will improve that division.
Low Ki worked TNA's One Night Only: Xtravaganza pay-per-view tapings earlier this month and had a very successful night.
Opinionated View- No denying Low Ki is a great talent. But the guy has also had numerous backstage issues during his career. But hey everyone grows up. And the X-Divsion needs more bodies.

Low Ki Possibly Returning to TNA as a Regular – Top Name Supporting His Return (SPOILERS)

TNA is looking to use Low Ki at future events and tapings. Ki was recently back at the One Night Only PPV, and won a future shot at the X-Division Title. That PPV will not air until mid to late 2014.

MVP is a major supporter of Low Ki, and the feeling is that Ki will return and work a regular schedule for the company. Low Ki had retired from wrestling back in October, but worked over the WrestleMania weekend at the DGUSA – Open the Ultimate Gate 2014 and DGUSA – Mercury Rising 2014 events.

Opinionated View- The guy has talent never denied that. He has had major attitude issues over the years. But maybe right now the time is right for him to return. Can't say I wouldn't love to see I'm vs Sanada, Tigre Uno, Davey Richards, or anyone else on the TNA roster.

Low Ki Says He is Retiring Again

Former WWE, TNA, ROH and New Japan performer Low-Ki posted the following on Twitter today:

Due to @alljapan_pw not honoring their contractual obligations of medical care after being injured in AJPW, I'm retiring from Pro Wrestling

Low-Ki was injured by Akebono, sustaining a rib injury at an All-Japan show last month in what will be his last match. Low-Ki was a part of TNA in two stints from 2002-2004 and 2006-2008. Low-Ki was in ROH in different stints between 2002-2006 and was the first ROH champion. As Kaval, Low-Ki was signed by WWE in 2009 and won the second season of WWE NXT before being released by WWE in late-2010. Low-Ki wrestled in New Japan from 2012 to early 2013, winning their Junior Heavyweight Title. Low-Ki has also been a part of indy companies PWG, EVOLVE and Jersey All Pro throughout his career.

Opinionated View- I should point out Low Ki already retired at least once and came back a few weeks later. So don't be shocked if he's returning before to long.
