Samoa Joe's departure addressed by executive

TNA vice president John Gaburick addressed the departure of Samoa Joe via Twitter. "On expiration of @SamoaJoe contract, TNA and Joe have agreed to part ways," Gaburick wrote. "Joe will always be a member of our family & we wish him the best."

TNA Executive in New York Woking on TV Deal

Executive Vice President of TNA Wrestling John Gaburick was in New York City this past week to try and finalize a new television deal for Impact Wrestling according to a report by Dave Meltzer. Nothing has been announced publicly by TNA. The current extension with Spike TV expires at the end of the year. TNA was described as "operating like they are booking television taping dates" going forward in 2015.

Details on Vince Russo’s Current Role with TNA Wrestling

According to a report by PWInsider, Vince Russo is involved with TNA and on their payroll as a consultant. However, the current creative team is headed up by John Gaburick. Gaburick's three team members are David Lagana, Matt Conway, and Christy Hemme (who works with the Knockouts). The reported process for the team is that Gaburick sets the direction and comes up with ideas and helps with the team. The team then puts it to paper and writes a script.

Russo's role is to reportedly offer ideas and critiques of the televised product. The report compares everything in WWE going through Vince McMahon to everything in TNA going through Gaburick

Opinionated View- As I often say Russo gets way to much blame for anything that goes wrong and never enough credit for things that go right. Is he perfect? No. Did he have some awful ideas? Yes but he admits he was burned at his worse. Does the guy know wrestling? Yes.  Can he come up with good ideas as well? Yes he can.

Taz Debunks Rumor He is Recruiting Talent

Earlier today it was reported by The Wrestling Observer newsletter that TNA color commentator Taz has been actively recruiting independent wrestlers for TNA and working with “Big” John Gaburick in a recruitment process.

Taz has since debunked the rumor, tweeting the the article wasn't true.

TNA Backstage News and Notes

- Taz is currently recruiting independent talent for TNA, working directly with "Big" John Gaburick.

- Tommy Dreamer will be working regularly as an agent for the company at their upcoming TV tapings.

- The One Night Only: Joker's Wild PPV, which was taped in the UK, will air between May and July. The One Night Only PPV with the Wrestle-1 promotion will likely air in August.

Another Update On Kurt Angle "Blowing Up" Backstage

- The reports that Kurt Angle blew up at John Gaburick on a recent UK tour have been exaggerated. One person said it was "hardly an argument", just Angle expressing his confusion about the booking. Angle was still said to be "banged up pretty bad" on the tour and it could be seen when he walked. He seemed to be in a lot of pain, but you'd never know it based on his in-ring performance.

Another Backstage Incident During TNA UK Tour

- It is also begin reported that got into it with yet another TNA talent during the UK tour, this time it was Eric Young. Following the Monster's Ball match between Young and Abyss, which was tapes for Impact this week, Young reportedly got read the riot act from Gaburick for taking too long to get out of the ring after the bout. This was because TNA had several segments still to tape. Young vented on Gaburick, but the two later talked about the incident, and decided to put it behind them.
