TNA Announces Kurt Angle vs. EC3 TNA Title Match For July 1st

– TNA announced the following today, confirming that the Kurt Angle vs. Ethan Carter III TNA Title match will take place on the July 1st edition of Impact, and not on the June 28th Slammiversary PPV as many thought. The title match will actually be taped prior to the PPV, as TNA runs on a delay on June 24th and then tapes on June 25th, 26th, and 27th for six weeks of post Slammiversary TV…
When Kurt Angle and EC3 make their July 1st “Bell To Bell” World Championship Match official Wednesday Night on Destination America they will both agree to a unique clause in the contract. EC3 and Kurt Angle will choose each other’s opponents in the two weeks leading to their epic showdown. EC3 will have to sign the contract and later in the same night face an opponent of Kurt Angle’s choice.
As Champion, Kurt was given the option of deciding who would have the first match in this “Uncertain Fate” Clause. Was that the right decision? Let’s explore, with EC3 competing first it gives Angle an opportunity to scout and gives Kurt a much deserved night off after facing two opponents in Rockstar Spud and Austin Aries this past Wednesday night. On the other hand, it will give EC3 the night off just a week away from facing Kurt Angle for The World Title.
In any event, it is a very interesting time in Impact Wrestling, EC3 and Kurt Angle make it official at the start of Impact on Destination America, and EC3 will face an opponent whom we will all find out who it is together, when TNA World Champion, Kurt Angle tells us and EC3 at the same time.
* June 17th: Kurt Angle and EC3 Sign The Contract For Their World Title Match on July 1st and later that night, EC3 faces an opponent of Kurt Angle’s choosing.
* June 24th: LIVE on Destination America, Kurt Angle faces an opponent of EC3’s choosing.
* July 1st: Kurt Angle vs. EC3 For The TNA World Championship.

Former World Champion To Guest Referee TNA World Title Match

TNA has announced a former world champion will serve as special guest referee for this week's TNA World Title Match between Kurt Angle and Eric Young. This week's episode will be a live telecast on Destination American. You can read the full story here

http://www.impactwrestling.com/news/item/6415

Opinionated View- If I had to venture a guess based on the storyline it would be Austin Aries. Reading the story it seems to be implying someone who has been gone will return. Of course Aries could be returning from injury based on what Young did to him.

Josh Mathews Breaks Down the Rules of Tonight's Stretcher Match

Opinionated View- I'm normally not a fan of matches like this but I prefer this over put guy on it and push over line. This at least this match has the idea of the loser was beaten so badly he could be strapped down he couldn't fight back anymore. Plus you could do a lot with how dangerous it would be for Kurt Angle in match like this with the mad man Eric Young.

Destination America Wants Kurt Angle in Promienent TNA Role

Destination America has pushed for Kurt Angle to be put into a prominent position for TNA moving forward. The network reportedly likes the notion of an Olympic gold medalist representing their show.

Opinionated View- I have some reservations about this. Kurt's older he's easily injured and TNA has a lot of great talent. That said Kurt has looked great since coming back. He's still one of the very best in the world.

Kurt Angle’s New Contract to Be His Final Run?

As previously reported, TNA has announced that they have re-signed Kurt Angle. The Wrestling Observer, this is expected to be Angle’s final run as an in-ring wrestler. It had been reported when he was talking with both WWE and TNA that he was considering this contact to be his last run as an active wrestler.
Angle posted the following to Twitter commenting on the re-signing:

Kurt Angle         @RealKurtAngle
It's official. Happy to be part of the TNA wrestling roster! TNA has been loyal to me and I will do the same. http://impac.tw/1xuF1c8

Opinionated View- Honestly I think the time has already come for Kurt to be a special occasion wrestler. I would hope they would keep him as Director of Wrestling role and have him wrestle on big shows or for the right Angle.

Kurt Angle Confirms He Is Re-Signing with TNA, Discusses His Career Winding Down, Working with Hulk Hogan, and More

- Kurt Angle recently appeared on Vince Russo’s podcast, The Swerve, yesterday (Dec. 2). The pre- and post-interviews were archived on YouTube, and you can listen to them and check out some highlights below. The 90-minute bonus interview is available in the VIP section at Pyroandballyhoo.com.
In addition, Russo said that Kurt Angle direct messaged him on Twitter to allow him to announce that Angle plans on returning to TNA.

Angle’s response to a Russo story about Hogan not showing up until much later to reject Sting and Angle’s plans for a match they had been working all week: “I don’t have much to say about that day. I love Terry. I love Hulk. I think he was trying to help. Sting and I know where we want to go. If Sting and I are going to put out a five star match that everyone expected us to, I don’t think Hogan needed to say anything. I know the company put him in charge. The company put him in charge. I can’t blame Hogan for that. I think Hogan should have said ‘What do you want to do’. He didn’t, but I love Hogan. I don’t have anything bad to say about him.”

Angle on what he is looking for in a wrestling company at the moment: “Most importantly: the right interests. At this point in my career, I can’t really do a full-time schedule. I need to look at how they want to take care of me, what they want to do with me, what’s important to them should be important to me and everything I do has meaning. Most important is the invested interest. Secondly, making sure I keep my life straight and that I spend time with my family. Thirdly is basically financial situation. It’s not that I’m in dire need of money. Thank god I made a lot in this business. At the same time, the amount of money speaks volumes with what they want to do with you and how they want to utilize you. is the money important for a financial standpoint? No. Is it important on how important you are to the company? Yes. I want to make sure it’s a best suit for me.”

Angle’s thoughts on Dixie Carter: “I think Dixie makes decisions, but I think it takes her a while to be an expert in the business. She’s been in entertainment for a long time but not necessary wrestling. She may not know the business as well as the people she brings in. She has a big heart; perhaps too big. The way she has treated me has been nothing short of incredible. She has made some mistakes with some things she has done, with people she hired and the direction they wanted to go. It’s definitely been a learning experience for her. I don’t know, Vince. You made a lot of good points.”

Angle’s thoughts on CM Punk, McMahon, and Carter: “Dixie has the motherly love. With Vince [McMahobn], he treated me like I was kind of a son. Whether he cared about me or not, he took care of me. I was the first one he called every New Year’s Eve. He was always there for me. I never had a problem with him. I listened to the CM Punk interview. I don’t know who’s telling the truth or not. I don’t know if CM Punk went over the top or not. I haven’t had that type of relationship with Vince that Punk did. Dixie is not Vince. Vince knows the business like anyone else. I don’t think anyone can be like Vince. Of course Vince will treat you better if you’re making him money. I always had a great experience with both of them. Dixie has always treated me good. I think she has sometimes put people in charge that hasn’t treated me well. I don’t think it was her fault. She’s the boss. With McMahon, you have to be a work horse to work in the WWE. Vince didn’t put me in that situation. I put myself in the situation. I put the responsibility on me for not speaking up for three years…”

Angle on the rumors of Triple H preventing him from making a WWE comeback: “I thought about it. I’ve never had a problem with Triple H. When I was there, he treated me well. We did business the right way. I’ve seen and heard rumors about that. When I talked to WWE, Vince and I buried the hatchet from years ago and we don’t have a problem with each other. I haven’t heard anything about Triple H saying and doing anything that blocked me. So, even though I don’t know for sure, from my experiences talking to WWE, I don’t think it’s a problem. I think a lot of it is rumor. But I don’t know for sure. I wouldn’t know. There’s no way to possibly know unless he went and told me himself. I’ve read things but I can’t believe what I read because most of what we read is bullcrap. Triple H hasn’t been a problem and I don’t have any problem with Triple H, WWE or Vince at all. The good thing about this the past year is Vince and I were able to be on speaking terms again and we haven’t been in eight years.”

Angle on his career winding down: “My days are winding down. There’s no doubt about it. I probably won’t be able to go more than a year or two. I’m so good on what I do. Whether it would be in WWE or TNA, I think I have a future as an agent or in coaching/teaching. I’m actually better at coaching than as an actual wrestler. At the same time, I’m good at coaching/teaching amateur wrestling than I was as an Olympic gold medalist. I am torn on whether to go back to my amateur roots or pro wrestling. I have had offers on both sides.”

Kurt Angle to Announce Next Career Move Tomorrow?

- Vince Russo says that Kurt Angle will make a decision about where he will go between WWE and TNA tomorrow. Russo revealed on his website that Angle was going to reveal his decision on Russo’s “The Swerve” podcast but was unable to due to timing problems. Angle will still appear on the podcast however, and discuss what was going through his mind leading up to the decision.

Opinionated View- Given how much Kurt is advertised for TNA on Destination America I think he's staying with TNA.

Report Says Kurt Angle Has Signed Part Time Deal With TNA

New Update On Kurt Angle’s Future: TNA Offers Him New Deal

- As previously reported, WWE has been negotiating with Kurt Angle. Triple H reportedly offered Angle a full time WWE deal; this is because WWE is not interested in having Angle return to the company under a part-time contract. At this time, it appears as if Angle has turned down the offer from WWE, because he doesn’t feel that his body can stand up to a full time WWE schedule.
It now looks like TNA will offer Angle the part time deal that he is looking for, and that he will sign with them for another year. Angle wants to work on acting and getting more movie roles, and will be going to Los Angeles soon for meetings and auditions.
Opinionated View- Wait I though TNA wasn't offering anyone new deals until there TV deal was in Place? Could the IWC be wrong again. Look I think Kurt fits best with TNA so I am glade to hear this.

Kurt Angle Now Free Agent, Reportedly In Negotiations with WWE and TNA About Return

Kurt Angle’s TNA contract has expired and according to PWInsider, he’s now a free agent. Angle has reportedly had talks with WWE about a return.
A source claims that WWE offered a full-time deal (assuming Angle can pass a medical test) but he turned it down. He doesn’t think his body would be able to handle a full-time schedule and Instead wants a part-time deal. Negotiations are still ongoing.
Angle is also said to be willing to return to TNA if they come to terms on a new deal. He credits Dixie Carter and the company for helping him when he had his personal issues over the years. He debuted for TNA in September 2006 as a surprise. It was several months after his WWE release. Prior to his TNA debut, there had been rumors that he was retiring.
Opinionated View- My view hasn't changed on this. I have a great respect for Kurt and am a fan of his. But him leaving TNA won't be that big a loss hell I think Kurt should retire from in ring action and be happy with his current role in TNA as the Director of Wrestling Operations.

Kurt Angle’s TNA Contract Expires Today (SPOILERS)

As reported last July, TNA star Kurt Angle revealed on Jim Ross’ podcast that his current TNA contract expires on September 21, which is today. During the show, Angle said his next wrestling contract would be his last one and he needs to think about who he would sign with. He also said he plans on returning to the ring in October.
Angle did appear at the Impact Wrestling tapings last week. He participated in a brawl with MVP. The episode will probably not air until around November. During the podcast two months ago, Angle revealed that TNA offered him a contract extension and turned it down. While Angle has been more open to the idea as of late, it is hard to see him returning to WWE at the moment. Based on recent reports, it does not sound like WWE wants to take him back.

Kurt Angle Contract Update

Kurt Angle appeared on Ring Rust Radio and when the status of his TNA contract, which expires in a few weeks, was brought up, Angle said he would be making an announcement in two weeks.
Angle said, "Well right now I’m not at liberty to say where I’m going but I will tell you I’m going to do the right thing for me and my family. I am in the process of structuring a deal and I do have a company in mind. I haven’t said yes because I want to make it a public thing with the company and myself. I can’t really say who it is or where I’m going but I can tell you it’s going to happen in the next two weeks before my contract is even up. I won’t be wrestling until January but there will be a signing in the next couple of weeks."

Opinionated View- Well I would like Kurt to stay in TNA in his current role as on screen boss. But it won't be a huge loss if he leaves. There isn't a whole lot left he can do in TNA
