Update on Great Khali’s Rumored WWE Return

Yesterday we posted highlights from an interview, where the Great Khali stated that he would be returning to the WWE.
According to f4wonline.com, the WWE’s comment on the story is that, “Khali is not returning to WWE.”

Great Khali Says He is Returning to WWE

Former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali told Iamin that he expects to return to WWE ring. "I was busy establishing my wrestling institute in Jalandhar, Punjab," Khali said of his WWE departure. "It's a world class institute where more than 30 young wrestlers are being trained by trainers from USA currently. I have tried to provide best facilities there so that we can prepare world class wrestlers who can represent our country in the WWE world."

Khali was asked why it took roughly two years to work out a new deal with WWE. "It's not that I had no offers from the WWE," he said. "I had voluntarily taken this break as I needed some time to establish the institute in Jalandhar. Now that the things are on track I decided to get back to the ring. I will be back soon with some more friends from U.S. who will help me on my project to prepare WWE wrestling in India. We have trainees from all across the country. Also there are four girls apart from 30 boys who are being trained there. I wanted that girls get equal opportunity and so we have provided space for girls as well." Opinionated View- Oh god NO! Khali is awful and will always be awful. The man never had a good match in his life. He never had a bad match but that's because everything he ever did was god awful!

WWE Confirms Great Khali No Longer With Company

WWE has confirmed that the Great Khali (Dalip Singh Rana) is no longer with the company according to a report by Dave Meltzer. Khali's contract with WWE expired earlier this week and WWE chose not to renew it. It is said that Khali's departure from WWE was not a surprise and had been talked about possibly happening over the course of the last week.

The Great Khali Apparently Gone From WWE

 It’s possible this is just a website SNAFU as there has been no announcement, but it appears that The Great Khali has left WWE. The former World champion has been moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com and he was not on their European tour despite being at nearly every WWE house show in September and October.

Khali has only made a few appearances on TV this year. He signed with WWE in 2004 and worked in Deep South Wrestling before being brought up to Smackdown in 2006, the night after WresleMania 22. He held the World Title from July to September of 2007 after Edge was forced to vacate due to injury.

Opinionated View- One untalented big man gone now we just got Henry, Big E, Big Show, Kane, Rusev… Ah hell we still we got a lot of big untalented guys on the roster.

CM Punk, AJ Lee and Rey Mysterio Listed as 'Injured - TBD' On Last Night's Raw Script

- PWInsider reports that on the Raw script for last night CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and AJ Lee were all listed under the Miscellaneous category of talent as "INJ - TBD," in other words "Injured - To Be Determined." Miz and Summer Rae had the night off due to the movies they are filming and Khali was given the night off.

It seems like an odd classification for Punk considering that he's not injured and instead walked out of the company, though to be fair there probably isn't anywhere else to put him. It's interesting that he's even still being listed on the script though.

Reason for Last-Minute Extra Match Added to Battleground

- The reason for the last-minute addition for a tag-team match featuring Great Khali and Santino Marella against The Real Americans, Jack Swagger, and Antonio Cesaro for WWE Battleground was due to timing issues. After WWE laid out the show with the planned match lengths, they realized they still had too much time left. So they made the call to add another match.

WWE announced this morning that Santino Marella and The Great Khali will face The Real Americans on tonight's WWE Battleground PPV.

WWE Stops The Great Khali From Getting Movie Role

- The Times of India reports that WWE prevented The Great Khali from having a role in Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger's new film Escape Plan. Stallone wanted Khali to play the chief warden of the jail, but Khali's exclusive contract with WWE prevented it.
