ROH Final Battle PPV: The lineup for ROH's return to pay-per-view

The following matches are advertised for the Ring of Honor Final Battle pay-per-view that will take place Sunday in New York City at Terminal 5.
-Jay Briscoe vs. Adam Cole for the ROH Title.
-Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly vs. Alex Shelley and Kushida for the ROH Tag Titles.
-Jay Lethal vs. Matt Sydal (a/k/a Evan Bourne) for the ROH TV Title.
-Michael Elgin vs. Tommaso Ciampa.
-RD Evans vs. Stokley Hathaway.
-Roderick Strong vs. Adam Page.
-The Young Bucks and ACH vs. Christopher Daniels, Kazarian, and Cedric Alexander in a six-man tag.
-Mark Briscoe vs. Caprice Coleman vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Hanson in a four corner survival match.

Opinionated View- Oh fuck this card it sucks. Jay Briscoe sucks and shouldn't be main eventing we have seen Cole vs. Briscoe like 600 times so we don't need to see it again. They have done almost nothing to promote the TV title match and nothing to promote the tag title match. Elgin vs. Ciampa could be good but it should be higher it doesn't help this new "Jerk" Gimmick for Elgin isn't working. Who the fuck is Stokley Hathaway? Did they change's Moose's name? Seen 1 Strong match you have seen them all. Ok six man tag looks good. Mark Briscoe sucks, Caprice Coleman is average on his best days awful on most days, Jacobs is boring and Hanson is shit. They have done very little to promote this show and do any hot angles on TV.

And I don't care what they did on the house shows since they aren't airing it on TV the more casual fan won't be aware. Plus we will have to listen to Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino. Don't buy this card save your money and but something nice for Christmas or give it charity. Don't give it to ROH.

Updated ROH Final Battle PPV Card

- Here is the updated card for the ROH Final Battle PPV, which airs on Sunday night, December 7th on traditional PPV in the US. Here is the updated card for the show…
* ROH World Title Match – Fight Without Honor: Jay Briscoe © vs. Adam Cole
* ROH TV Title Match: Jay Lethal © vs. Matt Sydal
* ROH Tag Team Title Match: reDRagon (Fish and O’Reilly) © vs. The Time Splitters (Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA)
* Roderick Strong vs. Adam Page
* Michael Elgin vs. Tommaso Ciampa
* RD Evans vs. Moose

Opinionated View- Awful card. Briscoe is awful and I don't get why ROH pushes him much less give him a championship. Even worse his feud with Cole has been run into the ground. Zero build to the TV or tag title matches. Seen 1 Roderick Strong match you have seen them all I like Page but he can't get a good match out of Strong. Moose should still be training he's not even ready for Dark Matches but less PPV matches

Opinionated View- Here's hoping ROH does better the second time. There first PPV was bad and they did nothing to build to it on TV. Sadly with every stupid ROH bot drinking the kool aid declaring how awesome it was I'm sure ROH won't change anything.

Complete ROH Final Battle Results 12.14.13

  • Pre-show match Brutal Burgers (Brutal Bob & Cheeseburger) def Benchmark Bill Daly & Will Ferrara with a piggyback stunner from Cheeseburger while he was on the back of Bob

    Main Show:
  • Special Challenge Match: Matt Hardy def Adam Page with the twist of fate after several attempts were countered. Hardy got a good reaction and good heat while Page also looked good.
  • Strap Match: Silas Young def Mark Briscoe in Strap match. Mark was piggybacking and touched 3 corners but Silas hit #4
  • Tag Team Attraction: IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson) def Adrenaline Rush (ACH & Tadarius Thomas) with More Bang For Your Buck. YB of course were super over. ACH/TD got good reactions during their dives but received a hearty applause and ‘that was awesome' chants post match.
  • Stretcher Match – Loser Must Stop Using The Piledriver: "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen def Michael Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis via ref stoppage. There was a brawl ringside very early in the match with Steen ramming Bennett into the turnbuckle crotch first many times. Maria stopped the staff from carrying Bennett out on the stretcher. This lead to Bennett hitting Steen multiple times with a chair to the back and arms. There was a Box Office Smash through two tables outside. There were Ole! chants following a brainbuster onto a chair. Steen would hit a package piledriver through several chairs, which caused the ref to stop the match. After Steen gave one to Maria and said, " Merry Christmas bitch!"
  • After intermission Prince Nana came out and gave a RIP to Nelson Mandela. He talked about new signings in ROH and talked about Outlaw Inc (Homicide and Eddie Kingston). reDRagon came out to confront them and gave Chasing the Dragon to Nana. This brought out Outlaw INC
  • ROH World Tag Team Championship: reDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) def Outlaw Inc (Homicide & Eddie Kingston) with Chasing the Dragon using a chair behind the ref's back. The match wasn't that great according to Ari with it being a clash of styles and everyone on the wrong page. There were petulant fans in the balcony that didn't help, assisted by botches during the match. After the match Homicide hit a gringo killer on a staffer as Kingston turns on the crowd telling them to not applaud, that they play by their rules, and that everyone can kiss their ass. Kingston goes into the crowd, throws a garbage can around and has a temper tantrum as Homicide goes up to the balcony.
  • ROH World TV Championship Match "The Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa def Matt Taven w/ Truth Martini with rings of saturn for the submission to win the ROH TV championship. Not a complete squash but short and fun match. Ciampa hit a crazy air raid crash on a barricade laid out on the floor to Taven. Ciampa would smash Scarlett with a knee in the ring after she tried to protect Taven and he laid out Truth. Kasey Ray attempted a hurricanrana, which Ciampa turned into Project Ciampa.
  • Special Tag Team Match "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards & BJ Whitmer def Roderick Strong & Jay Lethal: Nigel says it's for one night only and he asked for one more match so Whitmer could leave on his own terms before the match started. The match ended with an O'Connor roll in a hot finishing sequence between Edwards and Strong. Clean match. BJ did a lot and took some bumps but was protected well even though he may have taken more than he should. Very competitive.
  • After the match all four men hugged. Lethal got on the mic and said everyone will miss Eddie. Eddie got on the mic and said thank you to Lethal, Cary Silkin (who he hugged) and thank you to the fans and ROH. Edwards puts over Whitmer and thanks him. BJ says his career is just starting and TURNS Whitmer/Strong/Jacobs are new faction. They are sick of being unappreciated while guys like Edwards leave. Jacobs spikes Edwards. Strong and Whitmer hold Edwards for the beat down.
  • ROH Champion Adam Cole gets a roll up on Elgin to retain as Briscoe couldn't make the save. Matt Hardy helped Cole.: Adam Cole & Matt Hardy embrace after Hardy nails everyone with the belt. Chris Hero's music hits and he KO's Hardy and Cole. Hero says he's back in ROH.

ROH Releases Official Statement on The Departure of Davey Richards

    - Ring of Honor sent out the following statement today, regarding the departure of Davey Richards…
Originally ROH had was planned to announce a tag team match for Final Battle today, featuring Roderick Strong & Jay Lethal vs the American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, what was to be the final schedule appearance of the Wolves. This match was scheduled after two very competitive singles matches in Dearborn, Michigan, that saw Lethal take on Edwards, and Strong take on Richards; a tag team match. Four of ROH's best going at it, not for titles, or even bragging rights, but for honor.

Both Richards and Edwards do not have any upcoming ROH appearances following Final Battle because of commitments and endeavors, that will prevent them wrestling full time for ROH.

However, due to recent events, Davey Richards has been removed from the Final Battle match by ROH management due to his unprofessionalism and unreliability with the company.

A mystery tag team partner is being searched for by ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness to take Richard's spot in the match. Nigel has guaranteed ROHWrestling.com that the replacement will not only meet the expectations of the American Wolves farewell match, but will raise the bar of the show. With so many limitless possibilities, who will Nigel choose for ROH's biggest show of the year? He promises that the match WILL NOT disappoint. Fans, You can't miss this one.

What should have been a farewell (for now) to the American Wolves, will now be one for "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards. Will Final Battle be the last time we see the first man in ROH History to hold the World, TV and Tag Team Championships?

"Please continue to support them and the incredible talent they have. Thanks for the memories. It was an amazing ride."  Richards also stated that it was the ROH office's decision to not have him at Final Battle. "Not mine or any other company's" Richards wrote on Twitter.

Opinionated View- ROH officials might have a different story. I just cross my fingers WWE uses Davey and Eddie correctly.

Ring of Honor has announced that Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly will defend the ROH Tag Titles against Homicide and Eddie Kingston at Final Battle. The show takes place on December 14 in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Read the official announcement at ROHwrestling.com.

Opinionated View- Well that sucks. I love reDragon and think they are an awesome team but I'm very unimpressed with Kingston and Homicide. Kingston has his moments but Cide is well past his prime and been phoning it in.
