Toby Keith Pull Out of Jeff Jarrett's GFW

Singer Toby Keith is no longer believed to have any involvement in the funding of Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestlingpromotion, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The report notes that when the idea for a new promotion started, Toby Keith was said to have been the primary backer after Keith & Jeff Jarrett pulled out of their negotiations to buy TNA Wrestling, however Jarrett has a backer for Global Force Wrestling through someone connected with race car driver Hermie Sadler.

Opinionated View- Well even with a backer in place this doesn't sound good. Not saying it will kill GFW before it starts but having the name back pull out can't be good.

Update on Jeff Jarrett And His New Project

- Jeff Jarrett wrote on Twitter that he will release a video later today with his first comments since leaving TNA. 

- Jarrett's project with Toby Keith was mentioned during a country music news segment on Sirius XM's The Highway. The report said that they tried to buy TNA Wrestling and since that "apparently fell through" the "founder of TNA" and Keith will start their own "massive promotion."

Jeff Jarrett and Toby Keith's publicist comment on rumored pro wrestling partnership

TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett and country music star Toby Keith continue to be linked in a rumored pro wrestling startup company. Newsday reporter Josh Stewart was told by Jarrett that he's not doing interviews at this time, but then added, "I can tell you I'm making good progress so stay tuned."

Meanwhile, Keith's publicist Elaine Schock said she has no knowledge of a partnership between the country music star and Jarrett. "I still have no heard anything that I can confirm," Shock said. Read more at Newsday.com.

Did Toby Keith Want to Buy TNA?

Country music star Toby Keith was reportedly the lead in a group that was looking into buying TNA Wrestling. The feeling is that if the sale had gone through that Jeff Jarrett would have remained as a key figure in the company.

Opinionated View- This is an observer story so be careful on trusting it. Of course Keith was part of the first ever TNA show when he suplexed Jeff Jarrett. The guy is said to be a huge wrestling fan but I know if I see him buying a company. Maybe he was interested in being an investor. But again its the observer it could have just been a slow news day.
