Flashback Reviews CHIKARA Pro The Battle of Who Could Care Less

Back to the world of CHIKARA for the triple shot weekend that was supped to wrap everything up for 2007. Some very important stuff would go down during this weekend that would have long term effects. Equinox would be no more instead Vin Gerrard would arrive. Chris Hero would learn the secret to counter the CHIKARA special the move that had beat him several times during the year. Shane Storm would back in the winner's column but with a price and we had several major feuds set to wrap up in Hero vs Castagnoli, Dorado vs Ryder and Hallowicked by Kingston. 

FIST Icarus & Gran Akuma and The Osirian Portal Amasis & Ophidian vs Mike Quackenbush and the Colony Fire Ant, Soldier Ant, and Worker Ant- Off moment at the start as Icarus does his usual flip into the ring he nearly hits Ophidian who is slithering around the ring. For some reason the Techincos don't have music for there entrance. the Colony has mixed and match there Outfits so fair warning I'm no doubt going to mess up a times and give credit to the wrong ant. Solider ant and Akuma start us off. Wrist lock by the Ant. Hard kick to the leg by Akuma. Knee bar by Akuma. Reversal by Solider. Akuma gets free and gets a head lock. Escape by Solider and back to the wrist lock. Irish whip by Akuma. Head scissors by Solider sends Akuma to the floor. Ophidian into the run on a lucha tag. Tag to Mike Quackenbush. Wrist lock by Quackenbush. Reversal by Ophidian. Arm Drag by Quack into a single leg crab. Ophidian gets the ropes. Go behind by Quackenbush into the Quackenlock (I really don't how to describe it go to you tube.) Firemen's' carry by Quackenbush followed by body slam. Knee drop by Quackenbush gets two. Tag to Fire Ant and tag to Amasis. Arm drag by Fire.  Amasis attempts to whip Fire Ant into the corner but the ant holds on and gets an arm drag. Fire Ant goes for a cross body but Amasis falls back so he misses hit. Firemen's carry by Fire Ant. Amasis to the floor. In comes Icarus. Tag to Worker. Akuma kick him in the back snap mare by Icarus and a running knee to the face. Tag to Ophidian in with a sling shot leg drop. Tag to Amasis who pounds on the back. Tag to Akuma who kicks to the chest. Seated abdominal stretch by Akuma. Front face lock by Akuma cuts off the tag. Worker keeps pressing forward. Icarus in illegally and this a German suplex. Double team boot chokes by FIST. Icarus distract the referee so his team mates can work over Worker. Cover by Akuma gets two. Worker ducks the clothesline and hits a drop kick. Akuma recovers to cut off the tag pulls Worker away from his corner and than tags in Amasis. Worker ducks the clothesline again.Lucha tag and in comes Fire Ant. House of Fire by Fire Ant. Icarus in as the legal man for the Rudos. Tag to Quackenbush. Up and over by Quackenbush. Fire Ant in with a cross body. And one by Solider. Fire and Quackenbush bail out making Solider legal. The Portal in to try and break up the pin but Soldier moves so they wind up giving double elbow drop to Icarus.  Series of double stomps by Quackenbush. Running splash by Fire Ant. Akuma breaks up the pin. Everyone flips to the floor taking someone out. Fire and Ophidian in the ring. Spin kick by Ophidian. Ophidian death lock is blocked. Beach Break by Fire Ant for the win. Very exciting opener. It wasn't a classic but it did get the crowd going which is what you want from a opener. 

Chuck Taylor vs Shane Storm- Pre match backstage promo Taylor rants about Ricochet stealing the Young Lions Cup. He says tonight Storm goes down and Taylor goes back to the top. Taylor comes out Faithfully by Journey and has a key tar. Chunky T than plays Faithfully. WHY? Because Chuck Taylor is awesome. Taylor with punches right at the start. Storm moves on the corner splash and gets an arm drag.  Arm drag off the second rope by Storm. Taylor demands the referee get Storm to stop pulling his hair, stop pulling the tights and quit being mean. Lock up  and Taylor drives Storm back to the corner but misses the punch and gets nailed with a forearm. Flying head scissors by Storm than a Arm Drag. Seated wrist lock by Storm. Rolling cradle by Storm but Taylor in the ropes. Chuck pokes the eyes. Taylor hip toss is block sand Storm gets a rana that sends Taylor to the floor. Storm goes for a dive but Taylor gets the boot up and kicks him in the face. Cover by Taylor gets two. Stomps by Taylor. Butter fly suplex by Taylor. Body slam by Taylor and than he ties up Storm in a ball but gets his hand stuck. Forearm by Storm. More forearms by Storm. Storm goes for a DDT but Taylor escapes and hits soul food. Awkward looking spin buster by Storm. I'm with Larry Sweeney said about it "Would have made Arn Anderson vomit." Taylor blocks the air raid crash knee to the face than a DDT that gets two. Taylor had the "grenade" Storm blocks it and the fight over it. Up in the air it goes Taylor catches it but gets hit by the Shinning Wizard or as Storm calls it That Japanese Move. Storm covers but Taylor gets his foot in the ropes.  Storm tries to flip over the ropes on a whip but Taylor with a drop kick to the chest. Storm gets sat on the top rope Omega Driver for the win by Taylor. Good match a lot of the very funny comedy doesn't translate well to the written word but they did a lot of funny stuff here. One thing I liked was Leonard F Chikarason who was calling this match pointing out how desperately Storm needed a win and that helped to plant the seed for what was to come the next night and the months ahead. 

Sara Del Rey vs Portia Perez- As I said in a previous review the women's division in CHIKARA was always usually Del Rey and Daizee Haze with some girls begin brought in for one or more shows to do to the former two. Lock up and Del Rey powers out. Go behind waste down by Del Rey into a pin for win. Arm ringer by Perez gets reversed. Leg tip by Del Rey. La Mahe Strall by Del Rey gets two. Go behind by Perez but Del Rey sits out and escapes to a full nelson.Snap mare into a chin lock than into a real naked choke by Del Rey. Perez gets free and gets knee bar. Del Rey rolls free. Waste lock by Del Rey than into a side headlock. Shoulder tackle by Del Rey. Side headlock takedown by Del Rey. Big kick to the mid section by Del Rey. Arm drag followed up by a flying head scissors takedown by Perez. Perez tires to do something on ropes but she doesn't over over enough. Del Rey gets Perez in a wheel barrow. Victory Roll by Perez gets two. Yakuza right to the face by Del Rey than a running Yakuza kick to the check. Head scissors by Del Rey. Perez bridges back and gets two. Del Rey power back out and grabs the arms to stretch her out. Kicks to the face by Perez to get free. Body slam by Del Rey than a short knee drop. Awkward spot where Perez is whipped into the ropes and she comes back Del Rey rams her breasts into her. I have to think Del Rey was going for something like the Thez Press but the timing was off. Cover by Del Rey gets two. Ok a spot like that was so awkward you should never cover on. Arm grape vine by Del Rey and than she pulls on the head and neck. Perez kicks free. Del Rey picks Perez up for a back drop suplex but Perez turns it into a head scissors takedown. Perez goes for a sunset flips but Del Rey just drops down onto her and gets two off a cover. Knee to the gut and than to the head by Perez. Cross body by Perez gets two. Kicks to the chest by Perez. She goes for a spin kick that Del Rey catches for a back suplex that gets two. Backslide attempt by Perez is block. Small package by Perez gets two.  Yakuza kick and into the butler fly lock suplex by Del Rey for the win. It felt like both girls were just a bit off tonight. It wasn't a bad match but just timing seemed awkward. One thing I liked was Del Rey when it Perez started to get the better of her would than get more aggressive not in a heel way but in a I'm not losing way. I do wish CHIKARA had done a little more with the women's division.

Brodie Lee vs Passion Hasegawa- Backstage says Passion has made a big mistake. He says he does one thing and that's hurt people. Passion is a wrestler from Japan with a salsa dancer gimmick.  Passion with a dance and he ducks Broodie's punch. Lee keeps chasing and can't catch him. Passion keep doing a little dance finally Lee with a big boot to the back of the head. Stiff chop by Lee drops Passion than body slam and a diving lariat. Brain buster by Lee and Passion is hurting. Slaps to the face by Lee. Choking over head suplex by Lee gets two. Lee goes after the referee for a second. Pump handle slam by Lee. Big chop by Lee and Passion drops to the floor. Lee out after him and chops him some more. Stomps to the body back i the ring by Lee. Body slam Lee. Lee goes for a clothesline but Passion with a drop toe hold into the ropes. 619 kick by Passion. Hurricanerana diving off the top by Passion and Lee is down for two. Lee no sells Punches and levels Passion with a lariat. Running big boot in the corner than the running sit out power bomb for the win by Lee. Post match Lee chases the referee. Good squash match. They are running Brodie through the smaller guys on the roster to set up for the eventual feud he would have with the only guy in CHIKARA is height Claudio.

The Olsen Twins Jimmy and Colin Olsen vs El Pantera and Lince Dorado- Pantera is a independent wrestler from Mexico with a Panther style mask so he was portrayed as mentor to Lince. Colin mocks Lince's flip entrance into the ring so Lince responds but doing a standing flip to get the fans cheering. Pantera and Jimmy start us off. Head lock by Pantera but Jimmy punches to the gut and kick. Jimmy holds Pantera in a  full nelson. Colin in for a kick but Pantera moves and the bother hit each other. The twins chase Pantera and keep hitting each other. The Olsen's toe the floor. and Pantera psychs them out. Tag to Lince. Colin in legally now. Lock up and a go behind by Lince into a snap mare. Arm drag by Colin and he swats the drop kick.. Back and forth exchange of arm drags. Back elbow by Colin stuns lince for a second but Lince comes back with a drop kick. Colin to the apron to confer with his brother Lince brings them both in. Olesen's sent into each other again. The Olsens catch Lince but he takes down down a head scissors the other with an arm drag. Pantera in and he spring off Lince with a bad drop kick. Olesen's the floor. Double dives by Lince and Pantera. Chops back in the ring by Lince on Colin. Lince runs into a boot. Jimmy off the top drives knees into Lince's back. Elbow drop by Jimmy gets two. Short arm Lariat off an arm wringer by Jimmy. Tag to Colin who stomps Lince in the back and chokes him on the ropes with his boots. Pantera in the ring and The Olsens cheap shot Lince because the referee isn't looking. Body slam a knee drop by Colin. Back drop suplex by Colin and a tag to Jimmy. Chops by Jimmy and jabs. Lince with a sunset flip gets two. Lariat by Jimmy gets two. Lince rammed into the turn buckle and a tag to Colin. Big boot by Colin. Neck breaker by Colin and the diving lariat. Chin lock by Colin. Lince gets free but runs into a knee to the gut. Colin pulls Lince away from the corner. Tag to Jimmy. Double team gut buster by the Olsens. Jimmy hip tosses Colin and catches LInce in a flipping neck breaker. Lince rolls to the floor for the lucha tag. Huge problem is they just let him do it. I'm not saying you have to make every hot tag the same but never should it look like the heels just let it happen. Pantera in but gets a double flap jack. Jimmy covers and gets Dos. Flatliner by Jimmy and Colin hits an Enziquri to the back of the head. Leap frog leg drop by The Olsens gets two. Tag to Colin Second rope back elbow by Pantera and he tags back in Lince. Seems like that's way to quick given how long Lince was in there and the beating he took.Lince slips going for a spring board lariat on Jimmy. Drop kick on Colin.Jimmy with a kick to the ribs. Kaprana by Lince gets both twins. All four men in the ring. The masked men go for a double bulldog but the Olsens shove them into each other. Jimmy and Colin whip Lince into Pantera who catches his student and sits him on the top rope. Colin runs into Pantera's boot. Rana by Lince on Jimmy. Double team sit out power bombs by Pantera and Lince for the win. Ok match but some of the logic fails it and takes me out of it. 

Ultramantis Black with Hydra vs Miyawaki- Mantis is backstage and offer Miyawaki to be the representative of the Neo Solar Temple in the Orient. Mantis says join or die and even threatens to destroy the Japanese Whaling Industry. Screw Whale Wars I want to see that on Animal Planet. Miyawaki is another wrestler from Japan out of the Kai En Tai Dojo. Lock up and Miyawaki gives a clean break. Another lock up and Mantis chops on his break. Miyawaki chops him right back. Exchange of chops and headlock by Miyawaki than a shoulder tackle. Mantis tries a drop down but Miyawaki sees it coming and drops the elbow to the back. Hip toss by Miyawaki. Mantis begs for mercy but gets none. Hydra trips Miyawaki and pulls him to the floor. Cheap shots by Hydra behind the ref's back. The ref turns around and kicks Hydra out. Mantis covers back in the ring and gets two. Suplex by Mantis gets two. Key lock by Mantis in the center of the ring. Punches to the gut by Miyawaki so Mantis goes to the eyes. Mantis uses his boot to choke Miyawaki and than he stands on the chest and throat. Chin lock by Mantis. Jaw breaker by Mantis and into a camel clutch. Miyawaki fight to the ropes and gets the break. Mantis rams Miyawaki in the corner. Corner splash by Mantis misses. Miyawaki runs into a boot. Exploder suplex by Miyawaki. Forearms exchanged. Running back elbow by Miyawaki and than eh drives him down stomach fist. Mantis moves out of the way on an elbow drop. Side slam by Miyawaki into the half crab. Mantis gets the ropes. Miyawaki to the top rope. Mantis hits the ropes and Miyawaki falls. Forearms by Mantis. Full Nelson slam by Mantis gets two. Mantis tries for the praying mantis bomb but it's blocked Atomic drop and a lariat by Miyawaki. Final cut by Miyawaki for the win. Ok match I would have liked to see Mantis pick up the win but assume after Passion getting killed like he was that was a no go. 

The Fabulous Three Robbie Ellis, Mitch Ryder and Larry Sweeney vs Jigsaw and Low Ice Creams Ice Cream Jr and El Hijo Del Ice Cream- Ellis might be the only things I truly hate about CHIKARA he's a really old guy that still wrestles and yeah he pulls off some "cool" moves  but you know what if I don't want to see Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair wrestle I sure as hell don't want to see a guy older than them wrestle. Now according to the current storyline in CHIKARA he is now the owner and I hope that means he's done wrestling.  Pre match Ryder runs down the Luchadors. Sweeney does the band is back promo and Ellis mumbles something. Jigsaw starts for his team (after he convinces the Ice Creams to let him) and Ryder starts for his team. Tons and tons and tons of stalling to start and I'm getting bored. Finally a lock up. Jigsaw drives Ryder back and and gives a clean break. Ryder says Jigsaw pulled his hair. More stalling. Go behind by Jigsaw who uses this as a chance to mess up Ryder's hair. More stalling the bell ran like five minutes ago and so far the only moves are lock up and a go behind. Hammer lock by Ryder reversed by Jigsaw into a head lock and more hair messing up by Jigsaw. Arm wringer by Ryder and he works over the arm. Jigsaw reveres it into the wrist lock. Trip by Ryder  sweep by Jigsaw each gets one. Shoulder tackle by Jigsaw and a hip toss than a leg lariat. Sweeney tags in. Arm drag by Jigsaw into the arm bar. Punches to the gut by Sweeney and the criss cross. Jigsaw gets Sweeney to look up and hits him with an elbow. Criss cross again. Sweeney tries that trick but takes the elbow again. Tag to Hijo. More stalling I get playing to the crowd but Larry Zbyszko would watch this match and say "pick up the pace guys." Lock up and Sweeney drive Hijo back and chops on the break. Hijo starts to cry but than he kicks Sweeney. Sweeney tries a back drop but Hijo sees it coming and pinches the butt. Poke to the eyes and than a kiss by Hijo. Sweeney with a kick to the stomach. Sweeney with a drop down. Ice Cream jumps over him and drops down right next to Sweeney. Sweeney to the floor and Hijo chase. Ellis in the ring off the lucha tag and in comes Ice Cream Junior. Ellis to the eyes. The worst running of the ropes ever by Ellis and than a head scissors takedown. Yes it's impressive a guy this old can do it but the move still looks like shit. Awful looking slice bread by Ellis gets two. Ryder tags back in and so does Jigsaw. Drop toe hold by Ryder and than an elbow drop. Knee drop to the face by Ryder. Tag to Sweeney. Sledge hammer off the second rope by Sweeney. The Ice Creams come in distracting the referee in comes Ryder for the double team on Jigsaw. Cover by Sweeney gets two. Shoulder into the stomach by Sweeney. Second rope elbow drop by Sweeney gets two. Tag to Ryder. Abdominal stretch holding the ropes by Ryder. 

Finally the referee sees the cheating and Jigsaw hip tosses free. Ryder cuts off the tag. Tag to Ellis with a weak looking kick than awful stomps. Tag to Sweeney. Rolls up by Jigsaw gets two. Sweeney drives Jigsaw face first into the mat. Tag to Ryder. Cross face shot by Ryder. Triple team by the Fabulous Three. Chin lock by Sweeney who uses the ropes for leverage. Referee checks the arm but Jigsaw isn't going out. Jigsaw to his feet and gets free. Samoan drop by Sweeney and Jigsaw lands badly on his armTag to Ryder. Fist drop by Ryder. Upper cut by Jigsaw than forearms. Ryder to the eyes. Piledriver is bock tag to Hijo and here comes Sweeney. Bob to the noise by Hijo. Butt Butt by Hijo on Sweeney. Atomic drop on Ryder. Tag to Junior. Everyone into the ring and fighting overs a suplex position. Heels get the triple suplex. Ellis to the top rope as Sweeney pulls Jigsaw to the center. Shit looking splash by Ellis. Ice Creams break it up. Double team shots on Sweeney than the ice cream sandwich. Asscido by the Ice Creams. Ryder makes the save. Down to Junior and Ryder. Pile driver by Ryder for the win. This match sucked. Way to much stalling and everything Ellis did sucked. I don't care how old he is if he can't do the moves well than retire. Sadly this turned out to be Jigsaw's last match with CHIKARA for a long time. I'm not entirely sure what happen it was combo of things I think. He was injured on this match and couldn't' work the rest of the weekend. At the same time ROH started giving him more booking taking him off some CHIKARA cards. And ROH really blew it with Jigsaw he was placed in a awful stable that he didn't' fit with. Followed up by unmasking him witch damaged his look as he went from masked man to skinny white guy and the real topper he just took his make off backstage. He wasn't pinned in a stipulation match, he wasn't attacked and had it ripped off his face exposing him to the world. Nope they just had pull it off in a segment

Chris Hero and Shayne Hawke vs Claudio Castagnoli and Equinox- Months early Equinox had upset Hero in a match making him submit to the CHIKARA Special. Hero bails out the second Double C gets in the ring. Hero orders Hawke to start because Claudio is starting for his team. School boy by Hawke when Claudio goes after Hero. Kicks to the leg by Hawke. Arm drab by Hawke. He tries for a flying Head scissors but Claudio blocks it and turns it into a military press slam. Tag to Equinox Arm wringer by Equinox but Hawke bull rushes him back allowing Hero to tag in. Hero taunts Equinox. Equinox to the floor for a lucha tag. Claudio in and misses the bicycle kick. Hero bails to the floor. Hawke is on the apron trying to block Claudio who just picks him up and puts him in the ring. Series of fore ams by Hawke and a shoulder tackle but Claudio no sells. Hawke tries the shoulder block again and this time jokingly Claudio sells it. Hawke does an uppercut and than Castagnoli shows him how it's done. Equinox tags in.  Double team back elbow by the techincos gets two. Arm drag into an arm bar by Equinox. Tag to Claudio. Giant Swing by Claudio. Claudio covers and gets two. Tag back to Equinox. Lucha style exchange by Hawke and Equinox. Head scissors take over by Equinox. Arm drag by Equinox. DDT by Hawke and Hero tags in. Stomps by Hero. Firemen's carry into a back senton by Hero gets two. Stiff chops by Hero. Tag back to Hawke. Chops by Hawke. Double team choke by Rudos. Tag back to Hero. Jaw breaker by Hawke and than a jaw breaker to the back of the head by Hero. Drop kick to the side of the head by Hero gets two. Handstand into a sent by Hero. Tag back to Hawke. Body slam by Hawke and he drops the knee to get two. Tag back to Hero. Stomp to the head by Hero. Equinox starts to really  Sunset flip by Equinox series of roll throughs and Equinox is free and tags Claudio Referee didn't see it because Hawke had him distracted. Hawke pulls Equinox back into the ring. Springboard double stomp by Hero. Chin lock with the arms tired behind the legs by Hero than he changes it to pull on the legs Hawke tags in while Hero keeps the hold on and kicks Equinox on the head. Hawke hits an uppercut and taunts Claudio. Tag to Hoe who hits a Yakuza kick.  Chops in the corner by Hero. Equinox ripped into the corner and Hero hits a running kick. Hero runs into a back elbow. Hurrican rana by Equinox into a flying reverse DDT. Both men are down.  Tag to Hawke  and tag to Claudio. Series of elbows and clothesline by Claudio. Enzirue by Hawke. F5 by Claudio. Big upper cut by Claudio but Hero breaks up the pin. Cravat cutter by Hero. Hawke rolls out of the ring so Hero is legal. Cravat suplex by Hero but Equinox makes the save with basemen dropkick. Claudio to the floor. Arm drag and a dropkick by Equinox sends Hero to the floor. Hakwe cuts off the suicide dive. Trip by Equinox and he goes for the CHIKARA special on Hawke. Hero breaks it up. Hero screams "You want to mock me." And chops at Equinox. Cravat by Hero. Hawke goes for a piscado but Claudio nails him with an upper cut. Backslide by Equinox for the upset win. Really good fun match. They did some good stuff with Hero ducking Claudio to save spots for there planned one on one match a few days later.

Post match Claudio picks up Equinox and puts him on his shoulders and they do the Alex Wright dance. Hero is stunned in the ring. Hero stops Equinox from leaving and rams him into the post. Hero tosses Equinox back into the ring. Cravat buster by Hero. Hero goes after the mask of Equinox and tears at it. Leonard F Chikarason demands Hero stop and threatens to fire him. Hero says it doesn't matter he will just quit so he take the mask off. To stop Hero from unmasking Equinox he agrees to let Hero do it if he beats Equinox tomorrow night in Hellertown. Hero agrees and than Chikarason adds the stipulation that if Hero loses he gets his head shaved. Now this is how you do a hair vs mask match. ANd as usual Hero is a great heel.

Young Lions Cup Helios © vs Hydra- Helios the masked alter ego of Ricochet had just won the young lions cup a special title made for young guys on the CHIKARA roster. Hydra had actually picked up a few big wins and earned his shot. Headlock by Hydra. Helios powers press and gets a top wrist lock. Test of strength and Hydra stomps on Helios feet . Helios flips free but Hydra somehow doesn't realize it. Side cradle by Helios gets two. Arm drag by Helios. Gory Gallows by Helios than a crucifix gets two. Lock up and Helios out powers Hydra.  Helios steps out of the way and Hydra runs into the corner. Helios tries a splash by Hydra moves and than trips him to get two. Club to the back  and to the face by Hydra. Splash by Hydra gets two. Snap-mare by Hydra and double Iron claw to the head. Helios elbows free and hits a pelle. Punches by Helios and a leg lariat followed by the spin kicks. Second rope moonsault by Helios but Hydra rolls out of the way. Hydraloick (Full Nelson they were taking a shot at WWE and Chris Master's Master Lock) by Hydra Helios is in the ropes. Spiked DDT by Helios gets two. Helios sits Hydra on the top rope. Hydra with elbows to the back of the head as Helios climbs up. Choke slam off the top by Hydra. Helios gets the ropes. Hydra goes for the gorilla press but can't gets Helios up. Leg sweep and a standing shooting star for the win by Helios. Good match. Hydra is always comedy gold. Extra fun was having Mantis on commentary for his man. Post match Mantis gives Hydra a hug .

BlkOut Sabian, Joker and Eddie Kingston vs Tim Donst & Incoherence Hallowicked and Delirious- Pre match Kingston cuts the typical over rated Kingston promo you heard him once you have heard them all. Kingston and Hallowicked had been feuding over who the top student of the Wrestle Factory was. Donst had been beat down by Kingston in two matches. Blkout comes out wearing face paint. Kingston and Delirious start and of course we get the freakout from the future ROH booker. Nothing happens and Delirious tags Hallowicked in. They start going for a knuckle lock up. Sabian jumps Hallowicked from behind. Kingston out to make a lucha tag. Arm drag by Sabian. Hallowicked blocks the monkey flip. O lit a by Hallowicked sends Sabian to the floor. Tag to Delirious as Joker tags in. Shoulder block by Joker than a side kick. Head lock takedown by Delirious than arm drags and a  drop toe hold before a senton. Joker to the floor. Tag to "Timmy Timmy Timmy" as Delirious calls him. King in and gets double legged. Over head belly to belly suplex by Donst. Kingston breaks up the pin fall and give Hallowicked a Yarnagi. Missile dropkick to the back of the head by Delirious than the Panic attack. Joker in for  a big suplex. Gator roll by Donst on Joker. Slaps to the face by Kingston on Donst. Donst ducks the lariat and hits a Back drop suplex. Kingston no sells it and hits a big lariat. Ok that was stupid. I think its a dumb spot any time you get dumbed on your head and no sell it. If your going to do it needs to be a in big time match not here. Delirious with the panic attack to Kingston. Sabian with a splash off the top on Donst. Down to Sabian and Delirious who exchange. STO by Sabian. Donst breaks up the pin. DDT by Sabian on Donst. Sabian to the top for a double stomp. Donst rolls through? WHAT? Your stilling getting hit it wasn't that Donst rolled to avoid it. Ankle lock by Donst. Joker break it up and Dead lift German Suplex for Donst. Hallowicked in and runs into the elbow of Joker. Step up rana by Hallowicked he appears to land low and goes it more to body than the head and shoulders. Michinoku driver by Hallowicked on Joker. Kingston back in and he exchanges slaps with Hallowicked. You actually hear Kingston call for a spot. Back drop suplex by Kingston but Wicked lands on his feet. Yakuza to the back of the head. Running Yakuza to the face. Sabian splashes on to Hallowicked as he covers. BlkOut all in the ring alone with Hallowicked. Running Yakuza in the corner by Kingston followed by a basement drop kick by Sabian and finally a cannonball by Joker. Cover is broken up all six men int eh ring. Donst tossed to the floor and Sabian pounds on him. Head butt by Hallowicked and Kingston goes to the floor. Delirious sends Joker to the floor. Sabin attack Delirious but gets a double team go to sleepy hollow. Back drop suplex with bridge by Donst on Sabian. Kingston breaks up the pin. Double stomp on Donst. Enziquri by Hallowicked than one by Delirious. Rolling cradle by Donst for the win. Ok match but one of those main events that drags it feels like some spots were just about killing time to get the show to twenty minutes. 

The Battle of Who Could Care Less feels like an middle of the road issue of a comic book.Don't get me wrong it's not bad and over all they are building some big stories and when you look back at the storyline it hits you how big some small moments were. But it's not a stand out event you need to see. You could easily skip over this one and got right to night two and three of the triple shot and be fine. There is no hidden gem classic among matches. So I say skip unless your a really die hard CHIKARA fan. 

Flashback Reviews PWG Sells Out Volume 1 Part 3

Time for the final DVD in the PWG Sells Out set. This DVD is going to feature the various International talent that has been in PWG over the years. Why PWG has never made it to ROH levels in terms of over seas stars they have worked with a number of companies over the years. Also like the second disk this will have a number of PWG regulars in these matches so it's another chance to win over fans to buy PWG shows.

Excaliber welcomes us to the third set he claims PWG has grown from a mom and pop operation to a global sensation. He lists some of the stars we will see such as Pac, Cima and Kaz Hayashi.

From Based on a True Story Guerrilla Warfare Match for the PWG World Heavyweight Championship Joey © vs Human Tornado with Candice LaRae- Ok wait why is this opening DVD about International talents in PWG? Both these guys would be PWG home grown stars this would have fit more on the second disk. Hell if it's a run time issue just swap this match for the Generico vs Cima and Pac Matches. Ok that is nitpick. Ryan reign as PWG champion had reached over 400 days. These two had a previous match where Tornado had beat Ryan and appeared to win the title only for it to be over turned because Tornado had started the match as El Snowflake (the character he played in the movie Nacho Libre) Before the match Ryan says he give Tornado credit for being relentless. But Ryan says no one can take the belt from him. He than goes for super heat by saying he will own Tornado like it's 1860. Both guys are in there normal wrestling gear as I have started a number of times in the past I prefer for matches like these that are going to be more fights and weapons than actual wrestling it looks better if your clothes you would wear for a street fight. Right at the start Ryan goes the floor and grabs onto Candice. This distracts Tornado so Chris Bosh can jump him. Elbow to the back of the head by Ryan he than uses his boots to choke Tornado. Power slam by Ryan than the knee drop. Ryan chokes Tornado on the ropes using his knee. Clothesline by Tornado and they both 360 over the top to the floor. Tornado has a chair. Ryan cut him off with a kick to the gut. Tornado rams Joey's head into the apron. Chair shot by Tornado to the back. Tornado pounds on Ryan and than places a chair on his head and drops a leg. Tornado throws Joey head first into the ring post. Ryan whipped into some chair and than tornado picks one up and tosses it onto Ryan's head. Chops by Tornado. Ryan tossed into the ring post head first again. Tornado sets a table up on the outside. Tornado climbs to the top rope. Ryan moves. Moonsault press off the apron by Tornado. More chair shots by Tornado. Ey Rake by Ryan. Ryan gets a beer bottle and breaks it over Tornado's head. Tornado is busted open. Punch to the face by Ryan. Joey rams Tornado's head into a trashcan. Back into the ring. Chair shot to the back by Ryan and he covers. Tornado kicks at two. Stomps to the face by Ryan after Tornado flips him off. Ryan sits in a chair and and locks in a chin lock. Tornado gets free but than gets drop toe hold into the chair Ryan was sitting in. Ryan pulls Tornado up by his hair and than hits him with a chair. Joey uses the chair to choke Tornado. Ryan gets a trash can and tosses it into the ring. Ryan takes time to taunt the fans. Ryan stands the trash can in the corner. Running clothesline int he corner by Ryan than an elbow to the cut on his head. 

Joey keeps trying to send Tornado into the trash can but Tornado avoids it. Up and over and in the corner by Tornado but he slips before standing right up to hit an inverted DDT. Ryan hung in the tree of woe and placed in the trash can. Kicks to the can by Tornado. Tornado gets the chair chair and smashes it into the can. Tree of woe is undone but Joey is still in the trash can. Tornado to the top rope  for a double knee drop. Tornado covers and gets two. Ryan has been busted open. Tornado gets a ladder. Tornado drops the ladder onto the Ryan. Kicks to the head by Tornado. Body slam on to the ladder by Tornado who than goes to the top rope. Flipping senton by Tornado but Ryan moves. Tornado smacks the ladder both men are down. Ryan gets up and covers for two. Enziquri by Tornado both men are down again. Chair tossed into Ryan's head. Elbow drop into the chair on Ryan's head by Tornado. Cover and Ryan kicks out at two. Tornado sets up the ladder and climbs up it. Ryan shoves the ladder over and Tornado crotches himself on the ropes. Sadly even on that Tornado spot Tornado no sells because of that stupid brass ball's gimmick. Your not looking cool by no selling that Tornado you just kill drama in your match. Pimp slap by Tornado. Ryan rams the ladder into Tornado's head. Ryan piles up chairs. Ryan sits Tornado on the top rope. Superplex onto the chairs by Ryan.  The PWG champion is slow to cover so Human Tornado kicks at two. Jade Chung comes out and and gives Ryan her purse with is filled with thumb tacks. Candice goes after Chung Ryan kicks Candice in the head. Ryan pulls Candice up Drops thumb tacks into her top and than drop kicks her in the chest. Ryan sits Tornado on the top rope and calls for the mustache ride. Chops by Tornado to break it up. Tornado tries for something with Ryan sitting on the top. Ryan blocks it and back body drops Tornado out of the ring through the table that had been set up earlier. Joey pulls Tornado up onto the stage that is in the venue they are at. Ryan gets another table and sets it up below the stage.  Tornado blocks a suplex. 

Flip pile driver off the stage through the table by Tornado. Both men Kare down. Back in the ring Candice has sat up a ladder and climbs up it. Joey is up and Candice hits a cross body on him. Human Tornado is back up and and gets a big barbwire board. Tornado puts it in the ring and sits it up the ring. Superkick by Ryan when Tornado turns around. Tornado catches the leg and goes for DND. Ryan blocks. Drop toe hold by Tornado but Ryan again stops himself from getting into the barb wire. Punch by Ryan. Pump handle suplex by Ryan sends Tornado into the barb wire. We see a nasty gash on Tornado's arm from the barb wire. Ryan covers and Tornado kicks at two. Scott Lost and Chris Bosh come out but before they can get in the ring Quicksilver and El Generico cut them off and take them to the back. Ryan whips Tornado into the ropes and goes for a a dropkick. Tornado holds on the ropes so Ryan misses. Pounce by Tornado and Ryan lands in the thumb tacks. Tornado DDT back into the tacks. DND into the tacks and Tornado covers for the 1 2 3 and the title change. It's a very good hard core match and a very important moment in PWG history ending Joey Ryan's run on top.

From Holy Diver Down Kevin Steen vs Pac- Single leg off handshake at the start by Steen into a head lock. Pac escapes and gets a go behind. Trip by Pac into a front face lock. Rolling takedown by Steen. Lock up and Steen gets a head lock and he takes Pac down. Big shoulder block by Steen gets two and than right back to the headlock. Front chancery by Steen. Pac escapes a gets an arm drag into the arm bar. Hammerlock by Pac. Steen up to a top wrist lock and he forces Pac down. Steen wrenches on the arm. Pac flips and gets a drop toe hold. Pac goes for the Mexican surfboard but Steen is to big. Big elbow by Steen. Pac captures the arm and gets the arm bar. Test of straining anPad Steen gets a monkey flip he than rolls though and stomps Pac in the face. Mexican surfboard by Steen. Pac gets out and hits an amy drop. Head scissors takedown by Pac. Back breaker by Steen followed by a senton shuts Pac down. Chops by Steen and than head butt. Hard whip into the corner by Steen. Steen tosses Pac to the floor and chops him. Steen messes around with the fans. Elbow to the back of the head by Steen than an uppercut. Steen tosses Pac back into the ring. Pac spring board off the bottom rope into a head scissors takedown. . Dropsault by Pac and some how Steen winds up landing on top him that had to hurt. Standing sky twister by Pac but Steen rolls out of the way. Flipping leg drop by Steen gets two. Back body drop by Steen. Steen stands on Pac's hair and pulls his body up. Senton by Steen gets two. Running clothesline by Steen and a release German sends Pac across the ring. Steen takes time to get pissed a fan who has an air horn. Head butt by Steen. Steen runs into a boot. Hurricanrana by Pac. Steen goes a spear in the corner. Pac moves and Steen hits the ring post and goes to the floor. Cork screw shooting star by Pac to the floor. Both men are down. Pac puts Steen back into the ring. Moonsault into a swinging DDT by Pac gets two. Pac goes a rana but Steen turns it into the power bomb and gets two. Package pile driver is blocked. Enziquri by pack and snap suplex into front face lock by Pac. Steen powers free. Inverted Rana by Pac only gets two. Both men are down. Pac goes for a tiger suplex. Steen drivers him back brakes the hold hold and than gets the enziquri. DDT with Pac's legs elevated using the top rope by Steen. Steen to the top rope. Pac cuts him off. Steen knocks Pac down. Pac goes for a super rana off the top but Steen turns it into a sit power bomb. Ok that should have been the finish. Steen back to the top but he is slow to climb. Pac crotches Steen. Steen goes for the second rope package pile driver Pac counters into a rana. Pac only gets two. Again that move should have been a finish. Pac to the top rope and hits the shooting star section and only two. Pac back up to the top and hits the twisting shooting star. Good match but the problem was some of the spots were so big they should have finished the match. After the top rope sit out power bomb i found myself really taken out of the match. That's the kind of stuff that needs to be saved for a bigger match a big time blow off. Post match Steen puts over Pac on the microphone.

From All Star Weekend 5 Pac vs Kaz Hayashi- Kaz Hayashi you may remember from his time in WCW. After WCW closed he headed back to Japan and worked for All Japan. Hayashi force Pac into the ropes and chops him on the break. Go behind by Pac but Kaz counters into a hammerlock. Countered into head lock by Pac. Headlock takedown by Kaz. Head scissors by Pac. Headstand escape by Hayashi. Top wrist lock with clubs to the back by Hayashi. Arm drag by Kaz. Top wrist lock by Kaz and he stomps at the arm before going to the arm bar. Trip by Pac int a grape vine. Escape into the Fujiwar Arm bar but Pac gets the ropes for a break. Front face lock by Hayashi. Escape by Pac and hip toss. Takedown b Kaz into a knee bar than inverted figure four. Pac gets the ropes. Arm breaker by Kaz and than he drops some knees to the arm. Top wrist lock and into a head lock by Pac. Shoulder block by Pac and a head scissors takedown. Pac goes for a diving spec but Kaz moves and Pac hits the ring post and goes to the floor. Kaz follows him to the floor. Kaz catapults Pac into the guar rail. Hayashi back into the ring as the referee counts. Pac gets up but takes some time. Shoulder breaker by Kaz back in the ring than into a choke hold pin that gets two. Crossface by Kaz. Pac gets the ropes again. Stomp to the head by Kaz. Kaz runs into a a boot. Enzigurie and an northern light suplex by Pac gets two. Jaw breaker with a knee by Kaz to take back over the match. Drop to hold into the ropes by Kaz followed by a second rope moonsault. Crossface again by Kaz Hayashi. Pac gets the ropes again. Ok they are really over doing that spot. I get breaking on the ropes are "rules" but change it up early have him escape or counter out than latter in the match have him get the ropes or vice versa. Don't just lock in a hold other guy gets the ropes for a break over and over and over again. Vertical suplex by Kaz gets two. Kaz with a big clotheslines in in the corner. Leg lariat by Pac. Hurricanrana by Pac sends Kaz to the floor. Frossberry flop by Pac, Kaz moves but Pac lands on his feet. Superkick by Kaz. Hot shot into the guard rail by Pac and both men are down. Back to the ring Pac hits a sling shot senton for two. Series of forearms by Pac gets two. Pac goes for a tiger suplex by Kaz counters into a victory roll for two. Superkick by Kaz and hits the air raid crash for two. Victory roll by Pac gets two. Superkick by Pac and than in dumb logic he falls over and the allows Kaz to hit a running knee. Both men are down again. Exchange of shots. Splash Mountain power bomb by Kaz gets two. Enziquri by Pac and a tiger suplex gets two. Pac to the top rope. Kaz cuts him off. Kaz goes for Splash Mountain off the top but Pac counters into a rana. Slow follow up and Pac only gets two. Pac back to the top and hits the shooting star press that only gets two. Pac back to the top as Kaz stand up. Kaz charges but Pac dives over him. Round house kick to the head by Pac. Falcon arrow escaped by Kaz. Enziquri by Pa lands.  Rana by Pac. Exchange of pins by both men. Pac goes for a standing sliced bread by Kaz blocks it and hits a tombstone pile driver. Final Cut by Kaz for the win. Good match interesting to see Kaz as a non jobber.

From DDT4 Cima vs Bryan Danielson- The top guy from Dragon Gate vs the top guy from ROH. Fight over a lock up and Danielson drives Cima into the ropes. Danielson breaks clean but does tap Cima on the chest to show he could have done something. Cima drives Danielson into the ropes and taps Danielson in the face on the break. Danielson blocks a  leg scissors. Arm wringer by Cima. Reversed into a arm bar by Danielson and he pulls back on the head. Wrist lock by Danielson. Cima flips out of the hold and kicks Danielson off. Greco knuckle lock and we gets the test of strength. Neither man will give an inch. Cima finally gets Danielson to bridge back. Cima tries to break it but Danielson stays bridge. Monkey flip by Danielson. Cima holds on an chits a monkey flip of his own. Both men hold on. Danielson puts Cima in the corner and hits a big uppercut on the break. Takedown by Danielson him up in a series of hold. Head scissors by Cim. Escape by Danielson and he ties up the legs of Cima. Shin breaker by Danielson and a second on. Sexy Party by Danielson and into the indian death lock. Goes to the eyes to get the break. Kicks to the leg by Danielson but Cima catches the leg places it on the top rope and kicks the calf of Danielson. Headlock by Cima. Roll up by Cima gets two. SIngle leg crab by Cima. Danielson to the top and his the diving head butt for two. Exchange of pins by both men. Danielson with a headlock but Cima hits a backdrop suplex. Double knees in the corner by Cima. Danielson gets sat on the conner. Palm strike by Cima. Iconoclasm by Cima. Falcon arrow by Cima only gets two. Cima to the top rope. Mad Splash but Danielson gets the knees up. Cima to the floor. Danielson down on the leg clutching his leg. Baseball slide by Danielson takes out Cima. Suicide dive by Danielson takes out Cima again. Back to the ring. Danielson climbs up the top rope but Cima cuts him off. Palm strike again. Danielson escapes the iconoclasm and gets the cross face chicken wing. The referee checks the arm but Cima is not out. Danielson hits the German Suplex with a bridge gets two. Victory roll by Cima. Kick to the spine and into the cattle Mutilation by Danielson. Cima gets the ropes. Danielson sits Cima on the top rope and hits the upper cut. Superplex is blocked and Cima knocks Danielson off the ropes. Mad splash but Danielson moves. Cattle mutilation but Cima rolls through and pins for two. Superkick by Cima rock Danielson. Swine by Cima gets two. Both men are down. Cima to the top for the coast to coast dropkick. Cima sets swine again but Danielson with a crucifix. Elbow shots by Danielson. Danielson covers but Cima kicks at two. Series of shots by both men are there knees. Running knee by Danielson. Cima gets placed on the top rope. Back drop superplex by Danielson only gets two. Cattle mutilation locked in again. Danielson turns it into a in for two. The time limit expires ending in a draw. Really good match. This was the first time these two wrestled in any company and lived up to it's dream match status. Post match the two men shake hands and joke around a little bit.

From DDT 4 For the PWG World Tag Team Titles Pac and Roderick Strong vs The Briscoe Brothers Jay and Mark Briscoe- The PWG tag belts were vacant at this time and DDT 4 was the tournament to crown new ones it's since become a yearly event for PWG. Man do I feel bad for Pac. Teaming with Strong is bad enough but he's got to work with the Briscoe's as well.  Strong and Mark star us of and Mark being a moron crawls around like a monkey witch given how every coupe of months the guys seem to de-evolve more I'm sure that's how he will be around around full time for 2015. Head lock by Strong a shoulder tackle. Drop toe hold by Mark and his own shoulder block. Strong hits the ropes and hits him right back with a shoulder block. Drop kick by Mark.Tag to Jay and tag to Pac. Exchange of the go behind. Arm wringer by Jay but Pac escapes and hits a head scissors. Sloppy looking rana and a elbow by Briscoe. Chops in the corner and tag to Mark who chops before a snap mare and kicks to the back. Tag to Strong who nails Briscoes and hits some chops and forearms. Running knee to the gut by Strong. Blind tag to Jay and a double teams by the Briscoes. Drop kick that misses by Briscoes but Strong sells it. Exchange of chops. Side kick to the gut by Strong. Drop toe hold into the ropes by Jay and Mark kicks him. Tag to mark who comes in with a  double stomp. Mark chokes Strong on the ropes. Sting splash by Mark. Tag to Jay. Double team and that stupid barking tackle. God that spot is annoying. Weak looking stretch plum by Jay. I swear it looks like you stick a whole hand between the gap I can see. Strong gets free hits a jawbreaker and tags in Pac. Drop fault by Pac gets two. Snap suplex by Pac. Chops by Pac and a tag to Strong. Chops by Strong. I guess Strong didn't want Jay to feel bad about the shit submission because he puts him in a bad looking figure seven like move. Mark in a break it up. Power slam by Strong and he tags Pac in. Standing moonsault than a standing sky twister by Pac. Leg lariat by Pac. Tag to Strong. Strong runs into a elbow and than flipping DDT is hit by Jay. Tag to Mark and tag to Pac. Mar in with a spring board side kick. Time for those weak looking chops because of that stupid "Red Neck Kung Fu." For those that have been blessed to never see it Briscoe does a series of stupid looking "Karate" style moves that are so bad looking its clearly fake not helped by him screaming like a moron. Its the kind of stuff that even the most hardcore wrestling fan would be hard pressed to defend if someone walked in saw it and asked "Why do you watch this stuff?" Strong in and gets hit and takes an exploder suplex. Excaliber says Briscoe is challenging the spirt of Giant Baba and I'm Baba rolled over in his grave over that. Tiger suplex by Pac gets two. Strong in illegally and Yurinag's Mark. Strong picks Pac up and tosses him into the air and the high flyer comes down with a 450. Ok credit that was a freaking awesome spot. Sunset flip into a buckle bomb by Mark.

Jay in and takes out Strong. Spring board dooms day deviance by Briscoes and it only gets two. Head scissors by Mark on Pac. Jay leans into the ring to give extra leverage. The referee fucks up badly here as he look right at the Jay and Mark when Jay starts to lean in. Pac gets the ropes for a break. Tag to Jay. Double team hip chops and a hip toss by The Briscoes. Cover by Jay but Strong breaks it up. Straight jacket camel clutch by Jay. Strong breaks it up. Tag to Mark. Back breaker split legged moonsault by the Briscoes. Strong breaks up the pin. Tag to Jay and he hits a elbow smash. Back hand spring into a DDT by Pac. Both men are down. Tag to Mark and tag to Strong. Back body drop by Strong fool wed up the running forearms in the corner. Nice looking dropkick by Strong. Sling shot falcon arrow by Strong gets two. Assisted standing 630 by Strong and Pac gets two. Strong set of the gibson driver but Jay in a big boots Strong in the face. Jaw breaker by Mark. STO and bulldog combo by the Briscoes. Briscoes go for the running neck breaker but Pac pulls Jay out of the ring. Strong and Mark fight over position. Jay takes out Pac. Side slam by Mark as Jay comes off the top with a leg drop. Spinning splash by Mark gets two. Sick kick by Strong on Mark. Everyone is down. Jay up and kicks Strong in the head. Pac moves and Jay winds up hitting back with a spear in the corner. Back drop suplex by Strong on Jay. Pac to the top shooting star press and the knee hits Mark on the way down. Only gets two. Tag to Strong. Jay gets say on the top rope but blind tag to Mark. Mark goes for a cutter but misses even touch Strong. Jump kick by Strong gets two. Those really sloppy making it clear to me Mark misused and Strong wasn't going to follow him. Stunner by Jay and than the death valley driver. Briscoes to opposites corners. Shooting star by Mark but Strong gets the knees up. Pac shoves Jay to the floor. Gut buster by Strong on Mark.720 by Pac and Mark gets his leg on the ropes. Cancun tornado off the top to the floor by Pac to whip out Jay. Strong hold by Strong for the win. This match blew the big one. It's biggest problem is there are way to many moments that should end the match that don't. A lot of that is because that is how the Briscoes wrestle they will pull out spring board dooms day about ten minutes into a long match like some guys might use a clothesline. 

From Giant-Size Annual #4 For the PWG World Tag Team Championship Roderick Strong and Pac © vs Kevin Steen and El Generico- The Briscoes were supped to get a rematch at this show. But they no showed. We get Kevin Steen cutting a promo explaining this. Generico was the PWG world champion. He and Steen had mainly feuded in there career who ever in ROH they had been made a tag team and were feuding with the Briscoes so PWG got an upgrade to a much better team with the no show. Generico and Strong will start. Lock up and Strong gets an arm bar into a hammer lock. Front face lock by Strong. Generico escapes into a wrist lock. Trip by Strong into a knee bar. Generico escapes and gets a head lock. Pac tags in and gets a chin lock on Generico. Shoulder block Pac. Arm drag exchange. Casa dora into an arm bar by Generico. Tag to Steen. Arm ringer by Steen. Pac escapes and gets a wrist lock. Greco knuckle lock by Steen and he forces Pac to his knees. Monkey flip by Steen and he holds on rolls through into a  stomp to the chest. Chops by Steen. Steen runs into a boot. Drop toe hold by Pac and Strong tags in. Front chancery by Strong on Steen. Hammerlock by Strong. Elbow to the head by Steen to get free. Tag to Generico. Kicks to the rip by Generico as Steen holds strong. Body slam by Generico gets one. Generico goes for a sunset flip from the apron but Strong moves and turns it into a back breaker. Chop by Strong. Pac charges but get hit with a Tilt ta while back breaker by Generico. Strong breaks up the pin. Generico rams Pac's head into Steen's forearm. Tag to Steen who chokes Pac on the ropes. Steen draws Strong into the ring distracting the ref. Steen back to choking on the ropes but Generico stops him. Steen sits Pac on the top ropes. Superplex blocked.Shooting start knee drop by Pac on Steen. Both men are down. Tag to Generico and Tag to Strong. Back body drop by Strong than a leg lariat than a drop kick.Suplex into a shoulder gut buster by Strong. Clotheslines by Strong gets two. Half nelson back breaker by Strong gets two. Tag to Pac. Tag to Steen who chops Pac hard. Double team whip by Steen and Generico and they telegraph the back body drop. Pac goes for his hand spring into a DDT but Generico tosses him off and Steen levels him with a running clothesline. Steen covers but Pac kicks out at two. Back handle neck breaker by Steen. 

Steen sets for the package pile driver but Pac over the back. Strong tags in. Inverted Rana by Pac on Steen. Sick kick. by Strong and he covers but Generico makes the save.  Pac tosses Generico to the floor and flips over the top to take him. Gut buster by Strong on Steen. Pac off the top with a 450 elbow drop. Steen kicks at two. Tag to Pac. Pac on the top but Generico knocks him down. Strong has sat Steen on the top rope. Generico goes after Strong. Jaw breaker by Generico. Pack cuts Generico off on the running Yakuza Kick in the corner. Generico tosses Pac to Steen who is still on the top rope.  Running Yakuza in the corner by Generico on Strong. Steen slips on the top and he Pac just land hard. Moonsault by Steen. Superfly splash by Generico only gets two. Tag to Generico. Strong back in and takes out Steen and Generico. Strong back body drops Pac into a Rana on Generico. Steen with the save. Strong sent to the floor. Dive over the top rope by Generico to take out Strong. Steen withe package piledriver  on Pac he flips him to Generico who hits the Brain Buster for the win and title change. Much better match than the one before it. Yeah we had a lot of big spots but we got actually wrestling before all that started. Hell even Strong seemed to up his game here.

From Giant Size Annual 4 For the PWG World Heavyweight Championship El Generico © vs Bryan Danielson- Right after Steen and Generico had won the tag belt Danielson came out. Danielson asks Steen to go to the back. Danielson has bandage on his head due to a match earlier in the night. Danielson asks Generico to give him a shot and says he needs to do it to be consider a real champion. The fans want it and Generico calls for PWG commissioner Dino Winwood. Danielson gets pissed and slaps Generico. The bell rings and the title is held up. I think this was the planned the main event but they changed it up and had Danielson wrestle Necro Butcher earlier and Generico win the tag belts after the no show by the Briscoes. Generico clothesline Danielson out of the ring. Moonsault form the top to the floor by Generico takes out Danielson. Back to the ring and Generico back to the top and goes for a Hurricanrana. Danielson blocks it and turns it into a power bomb.Single leg crab by Danielson. Danielson pulls Generico to the center. Generico fights back and gets the ropes. Danielson tells the referee he has to five. Slaps to the face and a head butt by Danielson. Kicks to the back by Danielson and than he stands on the head. Kicks to the chest by Danielson. Mexican surfboard Danielson. Danielson drops down to change it into a dragon sleeper. Danielson drops a knee to the face covers and gets two. Exchange of slaps and a stiff one from Danielson drops Generico. Danielson charges into an elbow and than a boot. Cross body by Generico gets two. A pissed off Generico tears off the bandage on Danielson's head and goes after the cut. Blue thunder bomb by Generico gets two. Swinging DDT by Generico. Back drop driver by Danielson. Yakuza kick by Generico. Both men are dazed and trade shots. Big forearm by Danielson knocks Generico. Diving head butt by Danielson but Generico gets the knees up. Running Yakuza in the corner by Generico and  second one. Half and half by Generico gets two. Generico goes for a suplex but Danielson knees him in the head. Running Yakuza is blocked. Cattle mutilation by Danielson but Generico rolls through to a press for two. Back slide by Generico into a Brain Buster that only gets two. They point out Generico didn't get Danielson high enough on that moves and point out he just had a match. Generico points to the cover and and sets up for the corner brain buster off the top. Danielson blocks and head butts Generico off. Generico pops right up and kicks Danielson who is still on the ropes. Danielson escapes the top rope brain buster and shoves Generico into the post. Super Regal Plex gets two for Danielson. Cattle mutilation in the center of the ring. Generico gets the ropes for a break and saves the title. Danielson pulls him back and locks the move back in. They tease Generico is going to tap but he fight back to the ropes. Danielson flips over and knees the head over and over again. Tiger suplex with a  bridge by Danielson gets two. MMA elbows by Danielson and into the cattle mutilation in the center of the ring again. Generico taps out and Danielson wins the title. Damn good match. They story appeared to be Danielson was upset after several title shots had been taken from him and Generico was pissed after getting slapped. Plus by this point both Danielson and Generico were considered the very best on the indy scene. Post match Danielson starts a PWG chant and gets a microphone. Danielson says tonight Generico proved himself and says he respects him and offer him a rematch. Danielson thanks the fans for supporting PWG.

Disc three is basically the Pac show as he's in the a large number of the match so I do see why maybe they put two of his match on the second DVD and moved Ryan vs Tornado to this one. Again you get a lot of great matches. And hell guys like Generico and Pac have both gone onto big things in WWE since so its cool to see some of there earlier matches. 

Overall thoughts on the DVD Set- At over nine hours long this you get a hell of a lot of wrestling action. Production wise nothing ever fails but I do wish they had broken rings up better maybe including more host segment or adding some DVD extras. While this DVD gives you a great taste for the in ring action of PWG I feel like it could have done more to entice fans with some extras to just show more of what PWG is like. Over all though it's a very good set and worth the money. It might be kind of hard to track down but if you newer PWG fans especially it's worth checking out. And yeah its good enough I could see someone who picked this up a Walmart because CM Punk, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles are on the cover checking out a PWG because of it. 

Flashback Reviews PWG Sells Out Volume 1

We are changing things up on this one instead of look at a particular event we looking at a best of set from Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. PWG is company based out of California that was founded in 2003 by Joey Ryan, Disco Machine, Excalibur, Super Dragon, Scott Lost, and Top Gun Tawlor six west coast indy stars. Over the years a great list of talent has worked there including AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe it also was the home base for guys like Frankie Kazarian and Davey Richards. So why am I looking at this instead of an actual PWG event because I want to look at Best of Sets put out by Indy Companies that actually got sold in major retail stores. In about 2008 ROH, PWG, and CHIKARA Pro all reached deal with big disruption networks to have a best sold in a major store hell I got this at Walmart. Now it's clear these DVD's weren't for the usual indy wrestling fans instead they were hoping to get more causal fans who don't normally buy shows from Indy companies or who were interested in something like PWG but didn't want to spend the money for a show plus shipping and handling. So is this set good enough to convert the more casual fans into a indy lover? 

This DVD set comes in three diss and I really like one thing they did with the first disc is "Stars You Know." So it features matches with guys like Bryan Danielson, Kazarian, AJ Styles all guys that went on to to work for TNA or WWE. So if nothing that fans has some matches with guys he or she already is a fan of. The second one is for PWG Stars guys like Super Dragon or Human Tornado or Joey Ryan who at the time hadn't really made it to the next level. And the final one is International stars featuring talent like Cima who are stars in Japan. Now normally I prefer matches on a best of set come in the order they took place and to PWG and Big Vision credit they try do that. An issue I do have is commentary. PWG commentary especially in the companies early days could be very laid back and sometimes would nothing but the guys making jokes. A little humor is fine but if your going to do it don't be a distraction from the match in the ring. Another issues would often do it's commentary after the show so there would be times were Disco Machine or Excalibur would be on screen and still calling the shows yeah that really throws me and I think its just stupid because they would still act shocked by heel turns or surprise appearances. But they do give you the option to turn it off. Excailbur welcomes to the DVD and hypes up the matches we are getting over the nine hour set

From PWG The Musical Bryan Danielson vs Samoa Joe- Greco Roman Knuckle lock to start Joe with control but Danielson back him up into the ropes. Danielson breaks but taps Joe on the chest. Greco lock again and Joe forces Danielson to a knee. Danielson gets back up breaks the grip on one hand and gets a top wrist lock. Arm drag by Samoa Joe. Modified head lock by Danielson. Joe bess free and controls the arm. Danielson gets free. Moment of funny when Danielson points out this is a musical. Joe and Danielson circle each other snapping like the Sharks and the Jets in West Side Story.Side head lock by Joe and than a shoulder tackle. Head lock into a cravat by Danielson. Joe trips him and gets a seated top wrist lock.  Danielson escapes gets a wrist lock gets Joe's arm wrapped about the ropes and hits a quick drop kick. Drop toe hold by Danielson and a face lock.  Joe with a single leg crab on Danielson. Danielson drives Joe back into the corner and this time hits a chop on the break. Joe with a chop right back. Big head butt by Joe knocks Danielson down. Seated abdominal stretch with the legs tied up by Joe. Danielson gets Joe in a straight jacket and knees him the back a few times. Danielson falls back and stretches Joe over his legs. Joe to the ropes. Cravat by Danielson. Back drop suplex by Joe breaks the hold. Lock up and Joe drives Danielson back to the turnbuckle and uses him forearm to rake across the face. Joe tells the refer he has till five stealing Danielson's taunt. Danielson reverse and does that to Joe. Dropkicks by Danielson sends Joe to the floor. Baseball slide by Joe. Spring board topa con hilo by Danielson whips Joe out. Joe to the apron and Danielson tries to suplex him back i. Joe instead suplex Danielson to the floor. Chops by Joe on the floor. Ole kick by Joe and a second one. Danielson lands a chop. Chop exchange on the floor. Joe sends Danielson into the ring and gets two on a pin. Chop to the back kick to the chest by Joe. Danielson sets up so he gets kicked in the back before the knee drop. Another Joe cover gets two. Danielson rammed into the corner. Jabs and chops by Joe. Danielson goes down and gets the face wash before an in the ring ole kick. Another big head butt by Joe. Series of fears and a chop by Joe. Danielson with upper cuts. Leg sweep by Joe stops Danielson's rally. Cover by Joe gets two. Back breaker by Joe. Boston crab by Joe. Dandelions nearly escapes so Joe Changes it to the Joe's Special Crab. Danielson gets the ropes. Body slam by Joe than a knee. Joe to the the top. Danielson catches hi with a shot. Danielson goes for a superplex and gets it both men are down. Head scissors by Danielson. Joe gets the ropes with his feet. Snap power slam by Joe gets two. Joe right into the cross arm breaker. Danielson gets the ropes Head butt to the back by Joe. Chops by Danielson. Spine buster by Joe gets two. Joe runs into a boot. Diving uppercut by Danielson knocks Joe down.

Joe blocks a suplex. Forearm by Danielson than he gets a head trap suplex. Danielson to the top and hits the diving head butt. Slap exchange. Danielson tries to get an abdominal stretch and they wind up spillage to the floor as they fight for position. Referee starts the count as both fight on the floor. big round house kicks by Joe. Rapid first kick by Joe than a chop. Cravat with a knee by Danielson before he rams Joe into the theater style seating at the place the show is taking place. Danielson with a running dropkick after doing the Ole Ole chant. Joe with a vertical suplex on the floor. Diving below off the apron by Joe and Danielson moves. Chops to the legs by Joe and we finally return the ring. Single leg crab by Danielson. Joe gets the ropes. Knee bar by Danielson. Joe tries to free himself with strikes but Danielson stand up and drives Joe's into the mat. Danielson ties Joe's leg up in the corner and lands some chops. STJ Joe as Danielson charges into the corner. Exchanges os strikes. Takedown by Danielson and he locks in cattle mutilation. Joe rolls free. Roaring Elbow by Danielson gets two. Knee bar by Danielson but Joe kicks free. Lariat by Joe both me are down. Boston crab by Joe is locked in. Danielson gets the ropes. Joe drags Danielson to the center and locks in the Joe's special. Danielson gets the ropes. STF By Joe. The bell rings ending the match in a draw. I swear didn't recall this match was a draw this isn't me wanting to rant about time limits draws like my ROH reviews. It's a good match and I could see why it's included. How ever it's not the best Joe vs Danielson match out there. Also in order to fill the draw it slow paced at times while it wasn't so bad it felt like time killing I think for the first match on DVD like this putting something a little more high octane would have been a better call.

Joe breaks the hold as the fans call for five more minutes. Danielson asks the crowd if they want five more minutes. Danielson shoves Joe. Joe shoves Danielson. Ricky Reyes comes out and tries to keep Danielson apart. Reyes than hits Danielson and stomps at him. Joe joins in. Double team side slam elbow drop combo by Joe and Reyes. Danielson gets up and gets a microphone. Danielson says he expected that crap from Joe and takes a shot at ROH for the whole Rob Fienstine thing (Was Danielson out of ROH at some point?) Danielson says he and Reyes are like brothers and calls him out. Danielson says he will miss the next PWG show because he will be in Japan but when he comes back he challenges either of them to match. Why are they including a post match angle? I could it if this was leading into another match on the set but it's not. 

From the Reason For the Season Super Dragon vs CM Punk-  Lock up to start. Punk breaks in the corner taunts Dragon and  bails to the floor afar hitting Dragon once. Lock up and Super Dragon does a clean break. Arm wringer by Punk. Reversed to the wrist lock by Dragon. Forearm by Punk. Break up and Punk slaps Dragon in the face. Leg kick by Dragon a snap mare kick to the back and than a head scissors by Super Dragon. Punk escapes and its up the legs and starts pulling at the mask. Chop exchange. Kick to the spine by Punk than a front chancery. Knee to the back by Punk than he works over the arm. Hard forearm by Dragon. Dropkick to the back of the head by Punk. Single hand greco lock by Punk. Head lock by Dragon and than shoulder tackle. Sweep of the legs by Punk and grounded arm bar. Dragon gets free and hits the violence party series of strikes. Face wash by Punk but Super Dragon rolls out of the way to the final running kick. Punk to the floor to stall for time. Hammer lock into a head lock by Punk back in the ring. Punk drags Dragon down by using the tassels on his mask. Head lock take over gets two for Punk. Super Dragon hammers his way free. Rolling arm bar by Punk but Dragon gets the ropes. Divorce court by Punk and he covers for two. Seated wrist lock with a knee in the back by Punk. Big series of chops by Super Dragon. Shoulder tack and foot stomps by Super Dragon gets two. Full nelson with the legs by Super Dragon. Punk gets the ropes with his feet to break the hold. Violence party by Dragon than running forearm. Face wash by Dragon and he hits the running kick. Knee bar by Super Dragon. Chops to the back by Punk and than he goes afar the mask again to get free. Series of chops by Super Dragon. Back body drop by Dragon sends Punk to the apron. Round house kick over the ropes by Punk. Punk goes for a spring board but slips. Punk grabs his knee to cover. Figure four by Super Dragon. Punk gets the ropes again. Knee to the gut by Punk and leg sweep. Curb stomp by Punk stealing one of Super Dragon's trademark moves. Neck breaker by Punk gets two. Another curb stomp by Punk. Punk sets for another curb Stop but stops when the fans cheer. Cradle by Punk gets two. Chink lock by Punk. Back body drop by Punk who than grabs his own back. Punk with a third curb stomp and one really creative fan actually chant over kill. Who ever you are PWG fan I salute you for that one. Series of coves gets two. Super Dragon with chops. Knee to the gut by Punk Dragon no sells and hits a roaring elbow. Series of kick by Punk. Dragon fires back with chops and forearms. Punk goes to the eyes. Enziqure by Super Dragon and both men are down.

Punk rolls to the floor.  Elbow Suicida by Super Dragon takes out Punk. Both men down on the floor. Dragon up first and tosses Punk into the ring. Cover by Dragon only gets one. Super Dragon with a curb stomp and a second one. Punk creosols to the ropes. Curb stomp into the turnbuckle by Super Dragon cover and only two. Dragon to the ropes Punk u and cuts him off. Dragon blocks the pepsi plunge. Top rope back senton by Dragon. Move looks strange as Dragon twists so he comes down more on his side instead of flat. Cover by Super Dragon Punk with his foot on the rope to break the pin. Dragon sets up for the Psycho Driver two. Punk escapes and hits him in the back of the head. Kick sees with an enziqure by Punk gets two. Hammer lock by Punk setting for a DDT aka the Pepsi Twist but Dragon counters in a variation of the northern lights suplex for two. Hammer lock into a short arm clothesline by Punk gets two. Punk sits Dragon on the top rope. Rana by Punk by Super Dragon rolls through to get two. Exchange of pins for two. Hard fore am by Dragon. Psyco Driver 2 blocked again. Head butts by Punk. Body Slam by Punk. Punk to the top rope. Leg drop off the top by Punk gets two. Punk sets for the Pepsi Plunge. Dragon with chops . Butterfly Superplex by Super Dragon. Dragon can't follow up right away so his pin only gets two. Psyco driver block again. Shining wizard by Punk get two. Punk pulls down his knee bad. Punk goes for it again and I think the wanted it to be Dragon blocked or ducked but he doesn't move instead Punk just rubs his leg over Dragon's head. Psyco driver two for the win by Super Dragon. That is an awful way to end the match you have this awkward botch and than right to the finish. Other wise an good match but that finish was awful. Change the plan after a botch like that. 

From The Reason For the Season Steel Cage Match For the PWG World Heavyweight Championship Loser Leaves PWG Adam Pearce © vs Frankie Kazarian-  You can win via pin submission or escape over the top (door is locked) This was the blow off to the first big feud for the PWG title. Kazarian had been the first champion and Pearce had stolen it from him. Pearce refuses to get in the cage and has a microphone telling the fans to kiss his ass. Pearce tells the ref to count him and tell everyone fuck. Kazarian gets out of the cage and give chase. Kaz catches. Pearce tossed into the crowd. Double stomp by Kazarian. Pearce hip tossed into the floor. Back over the guard rail to ringside. Than tossed over the rail on the other side. The camera can't keep up with the action. The brawl outside of the arena. PWG has ROH syndrome and we got a dark place and I can't see anything.Seems like the camera is catching more of the crowd running around. Trash can shot by Kazarian. FInally the get back to the inside of the arena Finally into the cage. Spring board second rope leg drop by Kazarian gets two.There is a chair int he ring and Kaz tosses it at Pearce. Vertical suplex by Kazarian. Pearce with a chair shot to break the pin. OK how the hell does that even work unless the guy lets you do that. I get its wrestling but it should be this obvious they aren' fighting for real. Pearce bites the head. Big chop by Pearce. Butter fly suplex by Pearce gets two. Pearce climbs the cage to escape. Kazarian stops him . Top rope suplex by Kazarian. Pearce is bleeding from the back of his head. Kazarian up to try and climb out. Colt Cabana who is buddies with Pearce and also the number 1 contender to the PWG title after this match climbs up and knocks Kazarian back into the ring. Punch with a chain around the fist by Pearce. Baby Slime who had feuded with Pearce and lost the mach to Cabana to get a title shot runs out and takes out Cabana. Another shot with the chain by Pearce. Pearce chokes Pearce with the chain. We see Kazarian is bleeding now. Pearce grinds the face of Kaz into the cage wall. Bite to the fore head by Pearce. Kazarian tossed into the cage wall and than second time. Looks like the cage is about to give way. We see the ring crew having to push it back onto the apron. Figure four by Pearce. Peace grabs the ropes. Exchange of slaps and Kaz knocks himself free. Kazarian rammed into the cage agin. Body slam by Pearce. Second rope fist drop by Pearce gets two. Power bomb by Pearce. Pearce considered climbing up the side because the thing looks like it couldn't hold up a banner he goes for the corner to do the climb instead.. Kazarian gets tup and pulls Pearce back into the cage. Flux capacitor by Kazarian and both men are down. Problem is the couldn't get the full rotation Kaz usually gets for the move loos sloppy. Kick to the cut by Kaz and series of punches. 

Sleeper hold by Pearce. Kazarian goes down. Hand is checked and Kaz gets the hand back up on the third.  Pearce send into the cage. Sleeper by Kazarian. Referee checks the arm and Pearce keeps the arm up on the third check. Pearce elbows free. Pile driver is blocked and Kazarian catapults Pearce into the cage wall. Pearce reamed into the cage walls. Now cage looks like it's about to cave into the ring. Kazarian has the chair and hits Pearce in the back. Pearce face raked into the cage wall. Rear naked choke by Kazarian. Arm checked once twice. but hand stays up on the third. Hold broken. Kazarian tries for a back body drop by Pearce hits a DDT. Pearce now bleeding from the for head badly. Kaz fires punches. Low blow by Pearce and second one. Piledriver by Pearce. Kazarian kicks at two. Wave of the Future by Kaz but Pearce kicks at two. Chair shot by Kazarian a second one to the back. Wave of the future onto the chair only gets two. Release German suplex by Pearce. Pearce starts to climb. Kazarian up brawling on the top rope. Pearce's head rammed into the top of the cage. Cover by Kaz but Pearce gets the foot on the rope. A second piledriver by Kaz and another cover only gets two. Kaz tries for a third. Pearce escape and goes for a back drop suplex. Kaz lands on his feet. A third pile driver by Kazarian for the win. Ok match but it has some real weak spots. The brawl the start is ok but than it goes dark and just have this dead period where we can't see anything. The cage looks awful and honestly if you can't get a cage look ok/safe or guys can climb up don't do a cage match. I also dislike the finish. Doing one pile driver a  "FU I beat with your finisher" would be ok. Or maybe if they had Kaz do a series like Warrior with the flying shoulder at Mania 7. But I didn't like the way they did it here. 

From Free Admission (Just Kidding!) Jack Evans vs Christopher Daniels- Circling around each other to start with some trash talk. On a lock up Daniels tries Evans into the ropes and breaks clean. Lock up again Daniels goes for a snap mare but Evans lands on his feet. Daniels tries it again but this time gets an arm drag. Headlock by Daniels. Shoulder tackle by Daniels sends Evans to the floor. Arm bar by Daniels into the wrist lock. Evans with elbows. Hip toss by Daniels but Evans again lands on his feet.  School boy by Evans gets one. More bad mouthing by Evans taking a shot at the bald head of Daniels. Arm wringer by Evans into the wrist lock. Daniels counters free to reveres the hold. Hammer lock by Daniels and he keeps control. Elbow to the face by Evans than a victory roll for two. Back to the arm wringer by Daniels. Daniels goes to toss Evans into the air but this allows Evans to hit a drop kick as he comes down. Drop Sault by Evans than a sloppy looking running knee. Daniels to the floor. Springboard sky twister by Evans and both men are down on the floor. Evans up and he stomps at Daniels. Evans tosses Daniels back into the ring. Evans spring boards but Daniels catches him and hits a power slam. Three body slams by Daniels. Delayed vertical suplex by Daniels. Knees to the spine by Daniels. Fight over a suplex. Daniels gets Evans up but he lands on his feet and elbows Daniels in the back of the head. Kaprana by Evans gets two. Spin kick by Evans. Series of tilt whirl back breakers by Daniels. Boston crab by Daniels. Evans tries for the ropes but Daniels back him back to the center of the ring. Daniels changes it to the bow and arrow. Catapult over the top rope by Evans sends Daniels to the floor. Spring board flip by Evans and both are down. Both men crawl back into the ring to beat the 20 count. Elbow shots exchange. Daniels with the advantage. Cartwheel elbow by Evans. Spring board knee to the head by Evans gets two. Rolling cradle by Daniels gets two. Body scissors into a pin by Evans for two. Sunset flip by Evans. Daniels rolls through small package roll around. Finally it breaks apart. Both men are dizzy from the exchange. Spin kick to the head by Evans. Evans goes to the top for the 630. Daniels moves and Evans smacks the mat. Yurnagi back breaker by Daniels than the Best Moonsault Ever for the win. Very good mach. Evans still had a long to go but this was one of his better early match

From All Nude Revue For the PWG World Heavyweight Championship Super Dragon © vs Samoa Joe- Strange thing is PWG doesn't have the PWG belt with him. There might have ben a story line reason for it but they don't explain. Joe had beat Dragon via count out after over head belly to belly suplexing him over the ropes prior to him winning the title setting up this match. Dragon jumps Joe during the introductions in the ring.  Running knee to the chest by Super Dragon. Joe fires back with elbows. Rolling leg sweep by Joe. Chop to the back kick to the chest and knee drop by Joe. Running corner splash by Joe than the face wash. Dragon ducks lariat and than hits flying head scissors to take Joe down. Dragon catches a kick and hits a Dragon Screw leg whip. Joe to the floor Topa Con Hilo by Dragon and both men are down. Back in the ring Dragon tries for the psycho driver. Joe blocks it. Dragon tires for the curb stomp but Joe powers free. Joe tries for the finish to there previous match Dragon grabs the rope and than claps the ears to get free. ST Joe puts Dragon down and he rolls to the floor. Elbow Suicide by Joe sends Dragon back into four rows of chairs. Dragon is down on the ground barley moving. Dragon crawls back to the ring and beats the count. Joe tries for a power bomb but Dragon drops to his knees. Rapid fire kicks to the head by Joe. Power bomb by Joe into the STF. Dragon fights free but Joe changes to a cross face. Dragon gets the ropes for the break. Kick to the face by Joe. Forearm by Dragon. Snap power slam by Joe gets two. Head butt by Joe. Whip to the corner by Joe Dragon up and over to the apron. Dragon blocks the forearm and stuns Joe with win. Twisting kick off the top rope by Dragon gets two. Attempt at the psyho driver its blocked again.  Takedown by Dragon and into the curb stomp and he pulls on Joe's face before hand. Super Dragon back to the top  and hits a foot stomp to the head. Violence party by Dragon before he sits Joe on the top rope. Butterfly Superplex by Dragon gets two. Dragon dives off the second rope but Joe catches him on the back and hits an Death Valley Driver for two. Series of palm strikes by Joe. Roaring elbow by Super Dragon than a second rope diving elbow. Joe is stunned. Arm bar by Dragon Joe escapes. Big forearm by Dragon knocks Joe down. Dragon ducks the lariat. Psyco Driver by Super Dragon. Joe rolls to the floor. Dragon tries to pick Joe up but Joe is all dead weight. Joe is up and hits a series of strikes that knock down Dragon. Joe is about to climb back in but Dragon pulls him back to dive in and win via count out. Good match with some nice spots. The biggest issues is really commentary it starts fine as Disco Machine and Excailbur talk about how beat up Super Dragon was after his first match with Joe but than soon start talking about having had rancid mexican food. 

Post match the referee raises Super Dragons hand as the announcers point out now Dragon has beat Joe via count out. A second Super Dragon comes out and give the first one a curb stomp. Disco Machine a friend of Super Dragon's runs out and runs the second Super Dragon off. Unlike the first post match angle on the DVD I understand why this is on here. The second Super Dragon was Kevin Steen kicking off one PWG's greatest feuds the bow off of witch is on the second disk.

From All Star Weekend 4 Number 1 Contendership Match AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe- AJ avoids a round house kick. Single leg by AJ. Double leg by Joe but AJ gets his back. AJ goes to the floor when goes gets free. Head lock by AJ. AJ tries a shoulder tackle but Joe doesn't' move. Drop kick by AJ puts Joe down. Body slam by AJ and than a knee drop. Vertical suplex by Styles. Back break by AJ but it hurts his own knee for a second. Hard elbow by Joe. AJ tries for a rana but Joe side steps him. Joe taunts AJ but winds up getting the kip up rana. AJ to the apron but Joe kicks out his leg. AJ smacks the apron. Hard chop by Joe. Chop to the back kick to the chest and knee drop by Joe. Chin lock by Joe. AJ up but Joe just sweeps out the legs. Single leg crab with a knee in the back by Joe. AJ gets the ropes. Joe with the running knee in the corner and than face wash. AJ poked like he has been KO'ed but the final running kick. AJ hung between the second and third ropes. Running kick to the chest sends AJ to the floor hard. Joe tosses AJ back in. Series of strikes by Joe knocks AJ down again. AJ on all all four. Double stomp to the back by Joe gets two. AJ blocks a German suplex and revers the go behind so he can get a O'conner roll. Joe pulls AJ down right into the rear naked choke. AJ gets the ropes. Jabs and chops by Joe. Joe runs into a back elbow. Moonsault into the inverted DDT by AJ. Leaping clothesline in the corner by AJ. AJ tries it again but winds up in the ST Joe. AJ rolls to the floor. Elbow suicida by Joe. AJ back into the crowd. AJ blocks the death valley driver. AJ tries to spring boat he slips and instead he does a strange looking running clip to Joe's knee. Driving drop kick by AJ. Styles is bleeding from the noise. Spin kick by AJ gets two. Snap power slam by Joe get two. Senton by Joe gets two again. AJ ducks the lariat and hits the discos lariat on Joe. Sunset flip by AJ and he goes for the Styles Clash. Joe with a kick gets free. Running lariat by Joe gets two. Power bomb by Joe into the STF. Joe changes to the cross face. AJ Styles gets the ropes for the break. AJ ducks another lariat. Pelle by AJ. Rack bomb by Styles gets two. Series of punches by AJ. Joe fires back. AJ ducks the palm strike and nails an enziqure. Both men are down. AJ climbs the ropes. Joe is up. AJ kicks him back down. Joe up again and trips AJ.  Muscles Buster set up. AJ drops out and gets a sunset flip into the Styles Clash for the win. Very good match and it's pretty different from the usual AJ vs Joe match. 

From Guitarmageddon For the PWG and NWA Heavyweight Championships AJ Styles © vs James Gibson- AJ cuts a promo making it clear to the live crowd both titles are one the line. So that should have been a hint to anyone that there was no way Gibson was going over since he wasn't with TNA. Lock up and AJ drives Gibson back but Gibson reveres and than breaks clean. Standing arm and should lock by Gibson. AJ escapes to a arm wringer. Gibson gets free and drives AJ back into the corner. Single leg than into the side head lock by AJ. Gibson gets free but AJ nails him with a shoulder tackle. Head lock takedown by Gibson but AJ goes for a head scissors so Gibson breaks the hold. Another headlock takedown by Gibson. AJ tires to fight free but Gibson keep the hold on. AJ tires a backdrop suplex but Gibson lands on his feet and gets the head lock again. AJ goes for it again and this time he hits. Wrist lock by Styles into a arm wringers into the mat. Hammer lock by AJ. Vertical suplex holding the hammer lock by AJ. Styles stomps at Gibson's arm. Leg sweep kick by AJ than an arm drag into a arm bar. AJ lets the hold go and hits the ropes. GIbson with a double thrust to the throat. Kip up Rana by AJ and Gibson goes that he floor. Gibson avoids the baseball slide and slam AJ's chest onto the apron. Back in the ring a neck breaker by Gibson. Chops by Gibson and he hangs AJ in the tree of woe. Chin lock by Gibson as AJ is in the tree. Short arm clothesline and leg drop by Gibson gets two. Chin lock by Gibson. AJ gets free. Styles tries for a crucifix but Gibson blocks and hits a gut buster that gets two. Power slam by Gibson followed by an elbow drop. Back breaker by Gibson than the surfboard than changed into the head scissors. Elbows by Gibson to the face. Cravat locked in by Gibson. Spinning heel kick by Styles. Gibson catches the leg on another kick AJ tries for the enziquir but Gibson hits a dragon screw leg whip. Texas clover leaf by Gibson. AJ tries for the ropes but Gibson pulls him back. AJ power free with his leg in a pin that gets two. Forearms and chops by Styles. Gibson whipped into the corner. AJ charges in and Gibson back body drops him to the apron. AJ back in and hits an moonsault press into the inverted DDT. But Gibson grabs the ropes so it's AJ that falls back. Pelle by AJ as Gibson charges. AJ goes for the clash but Gibson grabs the ropes again and flips to the outside. AJ out to the apron. Brain buster onto the apron by Styles on Gibson. Back in the AJ covers and only gets two. Body slam by AJ. AJ to the top rope. Spiral Tap misses as Gibson moves out of the way. Dead lift German Suplex by Gibson with a bridge gets two. Knees to the head by Gibson. AJ nails a drop kick when Gibson runs the ropes. AJ tries the discos clothesline Gibson catches the arm and goes for the Gibson Driver. AJ block it but get kicked in the head. Gibson Driver revered into rana by AJ. Series of roll throughs. Styles Clash out a roll through for the win by AJ. Very good match. Some nice exchanges on the mat and some good power moves.

So that was disk one it was decent. I do like the idea of separating the matches like this. And putting matches with Super Dragon on disk no doubt helped to get people interested in watching disk two or even buying some DVD's that would have him even if guys like Joe or Punk weren't on it. That said I would have liked to see a little nicer mix on here. I think every match was a main event and indy main events have a style to reach the twenty minute mark since the IWC thinks long automatically equals MOTYC. Next time we will take a look at the second disk.
