ROH and CHIKARA To Hold Shows In Philly During Royal Rumble Weekend

For those attending the 2015 Royal Rumble in Philadelphia, there will be two other events that same weekend.

On January 24, the Saturday before the Rumble, Ring of Honor will have a TV taping at the 2300 (ECW) Arena.

On Sunday afternoon, January 25, CHIKARA will have a live event to kick off their “15th season” at 2 PM at the same venue. . The venue is ten minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center.

CHIKARA Moonraker Results 10.26.14 – Richmond, Virgina

1. Shynron beat Missile Assault Ant – Solid opener. Shynron won with a 720.

2. Archibald Peck, Ice Cream Junior, Shane Matthews, and Mr. Touchdown beat Ashley Remington, El Hijo del Ice Cream, Scott Parker, and Dasher Hatfield – Complete comedy with typical tag teams being on opposite sides. Too funny for words. Biggest thing involved Ashley’s signature point being treated as a real gun and acting like he “shot” people. Ref Bryce Remsburg pinned El Hijo del Ice Cream to win the match?

3. Die BDK (Jacob Hammermeier, Nokken, & Delirious) beat Spectral Envoy (Frightmare, Hallowicked, & UltraMantis Black) – Delirious was a surprise entrant. Hammermeier pinned Frightmare with a forearm shot.

4. Eddie Kingston beat Volgar – Volgar’s part of Jimmy Jacob’s group The Flood. Eddie beat him with the spinning backfist.

After the match, mass brawl between good guys and bad guys. Jimmy Jacob’s henchman Deucalion came out and laid out some people before destroying Archibald Peck. They acted like Peck was completely annihalated and the babyfaces carried him out like a martyr.

Intermission

5. Devastation Corporation & Oleg The Usurper beat The Osirian Portal & N_R_G – Comedy and power/high flyer stuff. Max Smashmaster pinned Hype Rockwell.

6. The Colony (Fire Ant, Worker Ant II, & Silver Ant) beat The Bloc Party (Mr. Azerbaijan, Prakash Sabar and Proletariat Boar of Moldov) – Comedy, but good stuff too. Fire Ant pinned Sabar with the Ant Hill team move.

7. Grand Championship Of CHIKARA: Icarus (c) beat Jimmy Jacobs – Solid main event. They sold the intensity very well and had some cool spots. Near falls at the end were good and Icarus won clean with the Wings Of Icarus.

After the match, Deucalion came back out and threatened to turn on Jacobs, but Icarus attacked Decaulion. He bailed and had a stare down with all of the good guys. He promised to destroy them like he has the Estonian Thunderfrog and now Archibald Peck.

9/21 Chikara King of Trios (night three): King of Trios tournament finals

1. The Golden Trio beat The Flood with a Throwbacks 3D followed up by a Chikara Special by Icarus on Volgar for the win. The Golden Trio advances to the Trios Final later on.

2. Devastation Corporation beat 3Peck0 with their Sit-Out/Top Rope Splash Combo. Devastation Corporation advances to the King Of Trios Finals to face The Golden Trio.

3. Mark Andrews beat Sir Oliver Grimsly with a Shooting Star Press.

4. This was a Tag Team Gauntlet Match. The first two teams were Los Ice Creams and Old Fashion (Jervis Cottonbelly and Marion Fontaine). The following is a run down of the matches:
- Los Ice Creams beat Old Fashion.
- High Energy beat Los Ice Creams.
- The Colony Extreme Force (Arctic and Missile Ant) beat High Energy.
- The Batiri beat The Colony Extreme Force.
- The Osirian Portal beat The Batiri.
- The Osirian Portal beat The Bloc Party.
- The Osirian Portal beat The Colony (Silver and Worker Ant).
- The Osirian Portal beat Team UK.

Intermission

5. The Submission Squad beat The Gentlemen's Club (Chuck Taylor, Drew Gulak, Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy and Swamp Monster) via all four members of the Submission Squad pulling of a finisher on Swamp Monster. This was an Atomico's Match.

6. Rey De Voladores Final. Shynron beat The Great Sanada via a 450 Splash from the second turnbuckle.

7. Devastation Corporation beat The Golden Trio with their Sit-Out/Top Rope Splash Combo on Dasher Hatfield to win the 2014 King of Trios.

Post match, all the Flood members came out and attacked the fallen Golden Trios. A handful of Chikara wrestlers came to make the save only to be beaten down by the Flood. Jimmy Jacobs and Eddie Kingston confronted Icarus and demanded that he hand over the belt or else the Flood destroys what is left of Chikara. After a moments pause, Icarus handed the belt over and informed Kingston that by taking the belt and destroying Chikara, the belt means nothing. Kingston then laid out Jimmy Jacobs and other nearby Flood members as the Chikara members rallied and chased the Flood members away from the ring.

The show ended with the Chikara members hugging and doing group poses.

CHIKARA 09/20/14 King of Trios 2014 Night 2 Results

1. Rey de Voladores – Shynron vs Rich Swann vs Tigre Uno vs Chuck Taylor

– Taylor was eliminated after a splash from Rich Swan

– Rich Swan was eliminated next via submission from Tigre Uno.

– Shynron pinned Tigre after hitting his Double Dragon 630.
2. 3Peck0 vs. GEKIDO

-Shane Matthews made Jigsaw submit via Boston Crab

-Shard and Jigsaw fought after the match and 17/Shard left without Jigsaw

-Director of Fun Mike Quackenbush came out and asked which side Jigsaw was on and said CHIKARA is your family and we need you. Jigsaw yelled back “I DON’T NEED ANYBODY!” and left alone.

3. Battle of the Bowties – Juan Francisco de Coronado vs Rockstar Spud

-The lady who won the Talent show at the Fan Conclave played JFDC’s theme song on her whistle before the match. However, when Juan came out, he stole the flute and threw it on the ground.

-Spud took a bowtie from his tights and put it on the ref, Bryce Remburg. Juan immediately removed it and stomped on it several times.

-JFDC won with a German suplex on Spud.

Greenhorn Militia came out again and challenged Deucalion to a fight. When Deucalion didn’t show he said the GHM will come to him when he least expects it.

4. Devastation Corporation vs Team UK

-Max Smashmaster his the Death Blow on Mark Andrews to get the win for the DC. Team UK used their speed to counter the DC’s brute force, but came out short.

5. Rey de Voladores – Sanada vs Amasis vs “Kid Hybrid” Orlando Christopher vs AR Fox

-Sanada rolled Christopher up with his feet on the ropes for the  first elimination.

-Amasis hit a 450 Splash on AR Fox for the 2nd elimination.

-Sanada spit green mist into Amasis’s eyes then hit a superkick to win the 4 way.

6. Golden Trio vs The Spirit Squad

-Spirit Squad cut a heel promo on the crowd before the match.

-Icarus makes Kenny submit via the CHIKARA Special to get the win for his team.

7. “Smooth Sailing” Ashley Remington vs Yamamoto (aka Yoshi Tatsu)

-Juan Francisco de Coronado interfered & attacked Remington ending the match via DQ.

-After the match, Remington presented Yoshi with a fruit basket.

8. – The Flood Elite vs The Colony

-Once again, The Snow Troll was brought out in chains and tied to the ring post.

-Near the end of the match, Snow Trolls asks Worker Ant to unchain him and as he does, Deucalion comes out with Soldier Ant and Soldier hits Worker Ant which allows Jacobs to pin him.

-After the Match, the GHM come out to attack Deucalion but both 3quinox and C-A-W 2.0 got killed by Deucalion. Kid Cyclone escapes but without his cape which Jacobs takes with him. Hallowicked is finally out to take the fallen GHM members to the back.

Final 4 teams:  3peck0, Devastation Corporation, The Golden Trio, and the Flood.

Gavin Loudspeaker welcomed the crowd. The first surprise of the night was Sean "X-Pac" Waltman introduced as the guest commentator.
1. Team UK beat The Bloc Party via Mark Andrews hitting a shooting star press on Mr. Azerbaijan.
2. Team Gekido beat Team KE4TPG via a Jigsaw arm bar submission on Jolly Roger. During the match, The Shard and 17 were skeptical of Jigsaw's allegiance. Princess Kimberlee took a heck of a beating but was the star of that match despite being on the losing end.
3. The Spirit Squad beat Kizarny and his Odditorium when Kenny and Mikey performed a Leg Drop/Body Splash combo on Sir Oliver Grimsly. The Squad was definitely over with the crowd and expressed excitement to move on to the next round.
4. The Flood beat The Spectral Envoy via a Kingston Back Fist to the Future on Frightmare. Deucalion made an appearance along with Delirious. Deucalion directed Delirious to attack UltraMantis Black.
Intermission
5. Devastation Corporation beat Team Extravaganza with a seated hold/top rope splash combo on Marion Fontaine.
6. Team Peck 3.0 beat Team BDK3 with a Peck roll up on Ares. After the match Dr. Cube removed his "cube" to reveal himself as Jakob Hammermeier. He then commanded Tarsus to put Ares down.
7. The Golden Trio beat LAX with a version of the 3D by The Throwbacks on Chavo Guerrero. Chavo was definitely the most over wrestler. He thanked the crowd and indy wrestling.
The Greenhorn Militia came out next to challenge The Flood and Deucalion. Shortly after, Hallowicked came out and escorted the group out of the ring and to the back.
8. The Colony beat The Colony Extreme Force with a triple team Fire Ant body splash on Missile Assault Ant.
