Why Did Taryn Terrell Turn Heel?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the turning of Taryn Terrell heel was done in order to preserve plans for a feud between her and Awesome Kong. The site reports that when TNA did not expect Kong to be cheered when she came back and that she would work as a heel against Terrell.
When it was clear Kong was going to be a babyface to the fans, the decision was made to turn Taryn and align her with the Dollhouse. This also gives her a feud with Gail Kim, with the Dollhouse there to help keep her as a strong heel champion.

Opinionated View- I thought Taryn did very well with her heel turn promo. She had also been a face since joining TNA while Kong has almost always played heel. So I like them trying something different. Plus having Taryn give the Dollhouse someone to carry it a bit.

TNA Didn’t Finalize Awesome Kong Deal Until The Last Minute

The deal to bring Awesome Kong back to TNA wasn’t finalized until right before the Impact Wrestling taping last week in New York City. TNA officials are glad that Kong is back with the company as they want to use her to make the Knockouts division stand out from other women’s wrestling.

They are using the “reboot” on Destination America to focus on the athletics and personalities in the Knockouts division, which is expected to get a “renewed focus” in the company. The goal is said to be to make all of them stand out and look good.

Meanwhile, TNA were said to be pleased with the “Better than Divas” chant that happened during the Impact tapings.

Opinionated View- I am thrilled she is back. And it was a great surprise for the first show of the new era. Also it's great to see a big company celebrating Female Wrestlers and not just hiring models of course even when TNA has signed models like Tessmacher and Taryn they wind up becoming great wrestlers.

Several Talents Re-Sign With TNA

TNA Executive VP of Talent Relations John "Big" Gaburick posted the following on Twitter today, announcing the re-signing of Jeff Hardy, Kenny King, Gail Kim and Manik to the company:

Gail Kim is the cornerstone of the Knockouts division and proud she will continue to build her legacy with us.

 

TNA Executive VP of Talent Relations John "Big" Gaburick posted the following on Twitter today, announcing the signing of British Bootcamp 2 winner Mark Andrews and Awesome Kong to the company:

"He earned his spot with us on #BritishBootCamp2 and excited to see how high @MandrewsTNA flys with us."
