More Details On Willie Mack’s WWE Release

PWInsider.com (via Wrestlezone) reports that Willie Mack was actually signed to WWE before his release and had passed his medical tests. There were rumors that he had an undisclosed health problem, which now appear to be untrue. WWE called Mack last week and said that he would not be going to NXT, as he was released from his contract.

Update on Willie Mack Getting Released

As reported earlier today, independent wrestling star Willie Mack was released by WWE before he could officially report to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, Mack was let go due to his medical/physical test results.

Opinionated View- You can never trust Dave it could be he's guessing like I was but it wouldn't shock me if it winds up being true.

Willie Mack Issues Statement on Being Cut From WWE NXT

Independent star Willie Mack, who was released by WWE earlier today before he ever reported to the WWE Performance Center in Florida for NXT, issued the following statement on his release:

Hollywood, CA (October 13, 2014) - Today news of WWE's release of Willie McClinton, Jr. (Willie Mack) has spread through out the pro wrestling world.

The following is an official statement from McClinton: "I would like to thank everyone for their support during the past few months. It is true that I was scheduled to report to the WWE Performance Center later this year and it is true that they have chosen not to employ me at this time. Although I am disappointed that I will not be headed to Florida, I am proud of the fact that I was on their radar to begin with and was offered the opportunity, and I look forward to future opportunities with the WWE. In the mean time, I will continue my working relationships with Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, AWS, Pro Wrestling Revolution, Future Stars of Wrestling, Lucha VaVoom, All Pro Wrestling, PWG and the numerous international promotions I have worked with over the years."

WWE Releases Willie Mack Before He Even Starts in NXT

WWE has released indy star Willie Mack from NXT according to a report by Mike Johnson. Mack was signed last month by WWE after finishing up his indy bookings, notably a farewell given to him at the 2014 PWG Battle of Los Angeles. Mack never even got started with his training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and it is not known as of this writing the reason behind Mack's release.

Opinionated View- If I had to venture a guess based on past situations like this it would be something came up on his physical.

WWE Signing Top Indy Talent From California

WWE is finally signing PWG and CWH standout Willie Mack to a deal. Joey Ryan posted a photo to his Instagram account of Mack's last appearance for PWG, which included a farewell and tribute. You can see that below.

WWE had been considering signing Mack for months but needed to put him through the usual medical testing and the like. Mack did the testing last week and is reporting to WWE NXT soon.

Updates on the WWE Statuses of KENTA, Prince Devitt, Willie Mack & Kevin Steen

- Willie Mack and Kevin Steen are currently going through the WWE background check. Once that is complete, they will then be scheduled to go their medical testing. And once that is complete, and if they have passed, they will then officially be offered their deal from the company. 

- At this time, KENTA, Prince Devitt and Kevin Steen are expected to be coming to Orlando in August. There could be delays between work VIASA, medicals, or other issues that sometimes pop up during the process.

Two Indy Stars Expected To Be Signed to WWE Deals

Ring of Honor star Kevin Steen and California independent star Willie Mack are expected to be offered WWE developmental deals according to a report by Jason Powell. Steen took part in a WWE tryout camp back in March. It was previously reported that Mack had signed a WWE deal, but that report was premature. 

Opinionated View- Both are great talent but I really worry about Steen. I feel WWE will strip away everything that makes him cool and fun to watch. Also (and I don't' want to bash the guy just making a point) they didn't think Chris Hero was in good enough shape. Yet they hire the much heavier set Steen. And yes I know Steen has dropped some weight lately.
