CZW Tournament of Death Results
Despite a tropical storm unloaded tons of rain over the Northeast just 24 hours before, Combat Zone Wrestling held their 13th annual Tournament of Death in Townsend, DE.
Quick results:
CZW champion Masada was held off from competing due to his meniscus tear, which the promotion stated was a decision made by the Delaware State Athletic Commission.
*Ron Mathis defeated Joe Gacy, substituting for Masada after a tombstone into thumbtacks in an Ultraviolent Dog Collar Match.
*Danny Havoc defeated Rory Mondo in a Mummified Barbed Wire Match (described to me as a coffin match with barbed wire inside the coffin).
*Scotty Vortekz defeated Lucky Thurteen in a Ultraviolent Ladders Match when the match was stopped after Lucky suffered what was described to me as a gruesome wound near his kidney. The wound was suffered after he took a bump on a ladder that had light tubes attached. It looked much worse than it actually was, but the promotion didn't want to take any chances The word is he needed some stitches.
*Big Japan's Takumi Tsukamoto defeated DJ Hyde in a Panes of Glass match.
*Drake Younger defeated Devon Moore in a non-tournament bout.
*In a Fans Bring the Weapons match, Scotty Vortekz defeated Ron Mathis after hitting a Flux Capacitor off the top onto a shopping cart.
*Danny Havoc defeated Tsukamoto in a Light Tube death match.
*In a non tournament match, Chris Dickinson vs. Drew Gulak ended in a no contest when Masada came out and both attacked them.
*In the tournament final, Danny Havoc defeated Scotty Vortekz in a 1000 light tubes match.
It was announced that next year's theme would be Big Japan vs. CZW

CZW Star Matt Tremont Issues Statement on His Health
CZW star Matt Tremont released the following statement on hisofficial Facebook pageabout his health and pulling off of the Tournament of Death for next week on his :
"This past Saturday I did the ethical and right thing to do by pulling myself from the On Point card and not wrestling on the show. With the news I received on Thursday morning it was the right thing to do for myself and others, as I would not want to continue to risk my own health or anyone Else's.
If anyone remembers, last year I was in the hospital for over a week with Pancreatic problems (Liver, stomach) issues, which is something I've dealt with since I was a teenager.
Mandated by the Commission of Delaware is the testing where they problem was found. Because of my pancreas issues it has conflicted with test results.
With the problem currently undergoing, I am unable to compete at TOD this Saturday as well as other bookings coming up,to those promoters, promotions and fan-bases, I apologize greatly.
I'd like to thank all who have reached out to me via social media etc for there kind words,it's much appreciated.
As for the negative and naysayers don't always believe the hype and gain some knowledge and research and don't garner a dismissive judgment about someone when you know nothing, and post onmessageboards, etc. about personal matters.
Trying to look at things from a positive spectrum right now as my deteriorating stomach aliment continues to worse in, maybe a Lil time off is for the best till things are 100% and cleared up etc.
Big Thanks to all friends and family with in CZW and elsewhere. Go to TOD on Saturday andenjoytheshow, the dub crew is ready to put on a show like no one else can.
Hopefully the Bulldoza will be back in a ring soon, as for Matt Tremont I have some downtime to do a lot of thinking about my future and life. "Patience is a virtue and only time will tell"

Changes Made To CZW Tournament Of Death
Matt Tremont has been pulled from the June 8 CZW Tournament of Death due to a health issue. As part of new rules for the state of Delaware, anyone in a Death Match style show is required to have a blood test. Tremont can't be cleared with the normal blood test due to a health issue with his Pancreas. He had another test, but the results won't be in until after June 8 so he can't compete.
The promotion has now re-ordered the first round of the tournament. Joe Gacy was also pulled as part of the changes.
Here are the matches:
*Ultraviolent Dog Collar Match: CZW champion MASADA vs. Ron Mathis.
*Mummified Barbed Wire Match: Danny Havoc vs. Rory Mondo.
*Ultraviolent Ladders Match: Lucky tHURteen vs. Scotty Vortekz
*International Panes of Glass: CZW owner DJ Hyde vs. Takumi Tsukamoto from Big Japan.
Masada will still compete even with a torn meniscus that needs surgery.
CZW also announced that the card will be Sami Callihan's official farewell with the promotion as he has signed with WWE.
