Flashback Reviews ROH Supercard of Honor 1

Second night of the first ever ROH triple shot and this time they are in the Mania host city of Chicago for the first of two nights there. These shows would finally end the Colt Cabana vs Homicide feud feature an appearance by Lance Storm (more on that for the next review) and feature the talent from Dragon Gate again. This time the six men from Japan would face each other in match Dave Metzler gave Five Stars something he hadn't done in the US in year (yet he seems to give ROH one a year ever since) Good news ROH World Champion Bryan Danielson is finally defending his title int he main event again. Bad news he's facing Roderick Strong the two had an on going feud Gabe pushing the fact each match went longer than the last as something key. Even though that just meant Strong was getting closer to a draw not wining if you think about tit. So was this was card really super? Or was it shit?

After out title card we resume on Jim Cornett. The ROH commissioner reveals it was Low Ki who knocked his tooth out during a brawl. Cornett buries Ki as tough to work with and declares he is banned for life or until his tooth grows back. We start to see a little of bitch all the time Cornett here but I do understand they had to write out Low Ki and Cornett had legit lost a tooth (he fell down stairs) the promo wasn't that bad. I just wish they would have kept Cornett as a natural force and limited his appearances more. Than we head to a video recapping the Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson feud to date. Its a decent video of highlight but I just find it hard to get into Strong. The guy is not a main eventer I could see him getting a title shot every once and a while but not as main guy. Also we see way to many chops in the video I know both guys used them a big feature had been Strong tearing up Danielson's chest but watching six hundred chops in a video doesn't make it interesting. Finally we head outside earlier in the day with Chris Hero mocking some ROH fans. Than we get Blood Generation talking in Japanese. Ok again I am fine with letting guys talk but if they can't speak enough engines and your not going to subtitle it I find it annoying for all I know they just said "Your an idiot for buying this." Or "We like Smalllvile the TV Show."

In the ring Bobby Cruise welcomes us to the show. Cruise tells us that due to an concussion that Home town hero Colt Cabana won't be wrestling on this night and than introduces Jim Cornett. Cornett comes out with a baseball batt and is followed by BJ Whitmer who is on crutches due to injures he suffered the night before in his match with Jimmy Jacobs. Cornett says hello to Chicago has some fun with the fans and asks those that have a good time to spread the word and says this is the biggest two night stand in ROH history. He also talks about WrestleMania and compares it to two dog screwing on the side of the road but ROH is wrestling. To be fair that Mania was the Triple H vs Cena match so it should be compared. Cornett reveals BJ suffered a broken ankle but claims it was the the CZW guys that did it after the show. Ok I get wanting heat on CZW but to me that takes aways from that big moment in the BJ vs Jacobs match why not put over the fact BJ is a such a tough guy he finished the match. Cornett's promo really start to drag on as he recaps the history of the CZW war and than claims he found some hardcore wrestlers at a peep show and is willing to give them a chance to show there talent and skill. The CZW theme plays and out comes a couple of guys in masks and CZW shits. And some Cornett makes some jokes comparing CZW to people that are gay see this is why you can't let Cornett talk to much. Finally after what felt like 25 mins Cornett bring out Samoa Joe and Adam Pearce who destroy the two masked guys. This opening started out OK and than Cornett just kept talking and talking. I'm ok with the masked guy stuff since it was meant to be ROH mocking CZW but this open took about fifteen mins when it should have been about give.

Four Corner Survival Shane Hagadorn vs Flash Flanagan vs Delirious vs Ricky Reyes Julius Smokes- So we have a student  a guy with no singles win in ROH and a guy debuting vs a guy getting a push wild guess on who wins. Christ Smokes is already talking before he and Reyes are in the arena. Delirious as usual freaks out at the belt. Reyes and Flanagan starts us off. Drop toe hold by Reyes. Flanagan goes for a knee lift but Reyes gets a rolling cradle. Tag by Flanagan to Hagadorn. Reyes with a sunset flip gets two. Belly to belly to suplex by Reyes. Delirious tags in and goes after Hagadorn. Shoulder tackle by the masked man. Arm drag than a crucifix by Delirious. Reyes and Flanagan jump in and all there men attack Delirious. Reyes a suplex on Hagadorn. Delirious goes for a missiles drop kick by Reyes moves. Sloppy looking spine buster by Flanagan. Delirious hits Shadows over Hell by Flanagan kicks at two. Bizzaro driver on Hagadorn by Reyes  breaks it up. Neck breaker than the dragon sleeper on Delirious by Reyes for the win. Boring open. No one looked good in and this match is supposed to have tags but it seemed like the guys said "forget tags."

Post match Smokes and Reyes attack Delirious and Reyes lock in the dragon sleeper again an choke Delirious. Reyes gets a microphone and says Delirious doesn't belong in ROH and he' just a gimmick. While Smokes yells about cookies. Reyes uses the tassels of Delirious' mask to choke him. Backstage Chad Collyer talks about his match with Ace Steeel Collyer talks about busting open Steeel in there last match and says he will do it again. We than shift to Ace Steel he talks about how that night was supposed to a special night seeing his two students (Punk and Cabana) main event and say good bye to Punk after ward. Steel says he has never bleed so much in his entire life but Collyer didn't kill him. Steel than goes in his crazy mode promising to make Collyer bleed. Collyer's promo was decent and Steels was very good it's just to bad ROH didn't' give this feud more time or focus.

The Embassy Jimmy Rave and Alex Shelley with Daizee Haze and Prince Nana vs Claudio Castagnoli and Jimmy Yang- Man Claudio really needs a regular partner ROH keeps sticking him with guys like Azrieal and Yang. The usual TP treatment for Rave. Oh Shelley gets hit and sells it like he's been stabbed. Story line to this was Yang and Rave had a run it at Best in the World. Claudio and Shelley had a previous match back in 05 but it had been so long and since nothing key happened it I'm sure most people had forgotten it. I only remembered because of pre match footage. Shelley and Yang start us off. The announcers talk about the whole Tamaik thing from Best in the World where Nana gets kicked by him. Shelley controls the arm and slaps the back of the head. Yang revers and returns the favor. Tag to Rave. Yang drives Rave to the corner. Rave claims his hair was pulled. Tag to Claudio in and rings the arm of Rave than a headlock. Series of arm drags by Claudio  and than a smack to the but of Rave as he tries to consult with Nana. Chops by Rave. Claudio blocks it and chops Rave than Shelley than Rave than Shelley. Claudio headlocks Rave and head scissors Shelley and takes them both down. Claudio baits Rave into going for a chop before moving so Shelley takes it.  Rave goes for a kick witch Claudio catches and toss the leg into Shelley's gut finally Yang and Claudio whip Rave who than gets back body dropped by Shelley. Series of unlucky falls results in Shelley' face hitting Rave's crotch. The Embassy finally takes control after Rave gets a shot on Rave. Tag to Shelley. Running clothesline into the corner by Shelley but Yang with a series of kick retakes control. Tag to Claudio. Claudio mocks the Embassy pose and than hits a flying back elbow. Yang back in Shelley with a drop kick to the head tag to Rave. Running corner clothesline by Rave. Tag back to Shelley. Yang charges but Shelley miss and Yang hits the post. In the outside Rave sends Yang int the guar rail and the guy actually winds up going over it. I think Yang tried to jump to make it look better. Full Nelson by Rave. Tag into Shelley. Hard forearm by Shelley. Haze with a slap to Yang's face. Spine buster by Shelley and than a lionsault get two. Spear by Rave leaping clothesline by Shelley on Yang at the same time. Rave to the top only to get caught by a drop kick. Shelley tags in and cuts the tag to Claudio off the apron. Yang sat on the top rope but fights out of the Shelley superplex. Missile drop kick by Yang but he sends Shelley to his corner and Rave tag in. Enzigure by Yang tag to Claudio. Claudio with a drop and diving upper cut to Rave. Spinning face buster by Claudio. Shelley save the pinball. Shelley counters the Water Slide super kick than a running drop kick puts down Claudio and a super kick to Yang for good measure. Dropkick by Yang sends Shelley to the floor. Yang uses Claudio's back to launch a dive to take out Shelley on the floor.  Roll up holding the tights gets two for Rave. Nice exchange of near falls by Rave and Claudio until Shelley manages to hold Claudio down for three. Decent match but nothing special Yang and Claudio didn't work as team. The finish came out of no where and honestly since Claudio was more over going to into a major story it should have been Yang taking the loss.

As The Embassy started to leave Chris Hero ran up the time keeper table and grabbed a microphone and retreated into the crowd. Hero warns Claudio that all he is going to be is a casualty of the war with Ring of Honor. Hero started to throw chairs towards the ring. Its a decent segment nothing to special.

First Blood Match Chad Collyer vs Ace Steel-  Yep a first blood match is the third match on the card and it's not a sign of how great and loaded tis card is it's just a single of how little ROH cared about this feud. Sad because it had great potential. Back at Punk the FInal Chapter of August of 2005 Steel and Collyer were in a match. When the referee was down Collyer cracked Steel in the head and busted him open. Steel had passed out from the blood loss. Sadly ROH than rarely booked them and the feud went cold. So now they could back to Chicago for this show and just tossed it on here. I get that brining in two guys from the midwest can cost and there are only so many spots on a show but than don't do a big stipulation match third on the card. Both they guys are talented wrestlers and could have used the boast a well booked feud could have given them. Fun note Prazak says this is the first ever first blood match in ROH history so way to blow that stipulation Gabe. On his entrance Steel grabs the section B sign and tosses  into the ring Collyer runs  as shell chases him. Collyer gets a chair and swings but misses. More running. Collyer goes for a chair shot but Steel blocks it with his fist. Collyer pounds on Steel and tears at the forehead. Steel rolls out onto the floor. Collyer off the apron with an elbow. Back in the ring Steel throws punches but his hand is hurting from the chair shot. Collyer uses headbutts and than goes to bite but Steel grabs Collyer's noise. Collyer goes for a second rope knee drop but Steel moves. Suicide dive by Steel whips out Collyer. Steel sends Collyer into the steel guard rail head first a few times and than rams him into the time keepers table. Collyer drives send Steel head first into the guard rail. Collyer bulldogs Steel on the floor. Collyer grabs a steel guard rail and brings it to ringside. Steel acts dazed but no blood. Collyer probe the guard rail up in the corner in the rings and suplexs Steel back into the ring. Steel hip tosses Steel into the guard rail thats in the ring. Collyer starts ramming Steels head into the guar rail. Steel recovers and sends Collyer into the guard rails but still not blood. Steel gets a chair. Chair shot blocked. Collyer dropkicks the chair into Steel's face. Collyer traps Steel's face in the chair. Collyer to the top but Steel gets up an slams Collyer off the ropes. Collyer looks for a pile driver on the guard rail. Steel blocks it. Tombstone pile driver on the guard rail. Steel gets the chair again massive chair shot and the referee calls for the bell. Post match Steel hits Collyer again. Decent match but given there was a hold of Hardcore stuff going on this weekend with the CZW war and the blowoff for Cabana and Homicide I feel like these two got told "Don't do this you can't use that." Also (and I know sometimes it just doesn't flow) but Collyer didn't' really bleed that much especially compared to how much Steel did.

Outside Dave Prazak had caught up with Homicide and Smokes and holy hell they found some light. It's not much but hey its better than being in darkness. Prazak asks Homicide about giving Cabana a concussion. Homicide says he doesn't care. Homicide says he is Colt's fear and that its over. Homicide says he is going to party. Smokes speaks some gibberish.  We than get a a video recapping Matt Sydal's time with Generation Next and him agreeing to team up with AJ Styles to go after Aries and Strong's tag belts. Decent video and it might be helpful to new viewers that started with this major show.

AJ Styles and Matt Sydal vs Austin Aries and Jack Evans- Well I just recapped the storyline. I feel like they wanted to pull the trigger and break up Gen Next but they delayed it until Evans was done with a long Dragon Gate tour and even after the stable was over it wasn't until 07 we saw any type of feud between the members. Evans and Sydal start us off. Hammer lock by Sydal. Evans escapes and gets a head lock. Monkey flip by Sydal but Evans lands on his feet. Sydal knocks down Evans with a drop kick. Styles tags into the match. AJ tosses Evans into the corner and calls for Aries who tags in. Stare down between AJ and A Double and than lock up. Aries breaks clean and Sydal tags himself in. Firemen's carry by Aries than a side head lock. Sydal counters into a from face lock than the hammer lock. Sydal with the Japanese arm drag a move out of Aries playbook. Japanese arm drags by Aries. Sydal with a head scissors and Aries counters into one his won. Sydal uses Aries usual headstand escape than  dropkick. Aries fakes out doing the same thing but kicks Sydal instead. Aries toss Sydal and calls for AJ. Styles tags into the match. The two men fight over a collar and elbow ties up his time Aries won't break clean. Quick exchange with neither man being able to connect. Forearm and headlock by Styles. Sydal tags back in flying head scissors by Sydal. AJ back in knee drop gets two. Tag back to Sydal. Slam by AJ Aries gets the legs up when Sydal goes for the standing moonsault. Tag to Evans. Double stomp by Evans. Dropkick by Evans tag back to Aries. Sydal blocks a vertical suplex so Aries hits a swinging neck breaker AJ saves a pinball. Aries tags Evans and holds Sydal for another double stomp. Knee drop by Evans tags back to Aries. Generation Next with a dole team shoulder tackle an assisted standing moonsault and than Aries with the power drive elbow. AJ breaks up the fall before a one count. Tag back to Evans. Sydal counters and  German and hits one of his own. Tag to AJ. AJ charges and sends Aries off the apron not once but twice. Over head spine buster by AJ on Evans.  Aries breaks up the pin fall. Delayed vertical suplex by AJ on Evans. Back breaker by AJ gets two. Tag to Sydal. AJ with a back break Sydal with a leg drop Aries with another save. Cartwheel into an elbow and goes over the top ropes. Evans goes for a springboard but Sydal scores with a leg lariat for two. Tag to AJ who comes in with the Muta lock. Aries break it up with a kick. AJ with a neck breaker. Tag back into Sydal. Double team suplex but Evans lands on his feet and appears to hit a neck breaker but AJ and Sydal no sell it. Bow and Arrow by Sydal. AJ tags back in and they go for a double team back body drop Evans flips over them and than makes the tag to Aries. Aries in with fore arms. OUt of the ring and than back in elbow for Sydal running corner drop kick for AJ. Finlay roll on Sydal tag to Evans who comes in with a big splash. And it make zero sense for Aries to tag Evans back in already after he took that long a beating. AJ lays Aries out on the ropes. Step up kick by Sydal on Evans. AJ goes for the Clash but Aries recovers and hits the crucifix bomb. Here it is driver on Aries by Sydal.Sydal sat not he top rope. AJ Styles clashes Evans on the floor after AJ catches the Saska special. AJ tosses Evans back in the ropes. Aries up attacking Sydal to take out AJ with a suicide dive. Shooting Star Press by Sydal pins Evans. Good match but the logic lacked at key times it seemed like at Aries just messed up and dove on AJ even though Evans needed his help in the ring. Sydal busted open the hard way either to his noise or lip during the match. Despite how intense things got the four men shake hands and Aries holds up Sydal's arm.

Backstage Christopher Daniels is with Alison Danger. Daniels says after a dry spell things are turning around for the. Danger puts over the six woman mayhem later tonight saying we will see hear we will see should maybe even a little blood. Daniels brags about beating Samoa Joe the night before. Finally Daniels says its no longer a question of it but when he will uphold the code of honor and shake hands. Good segment but they really should have addressed Danger stopping Daniels from fighting the CZW guys. It was so strange to see her freak out in fear like she did it needed to be addressed. Now I have a theory but it's just that. After the 100th show a storyline became ROH trying to get Homicide into the CZW because he had been with ROH since the first show. He had done so much for the company and was a key person in it and he was a great wrestler. Now this was part of the build of Homicide eventually winning the ROH world title. I think originally it was going to be Daniels in that role. Look at it Daniels was a key guy in ROH for years starting at the first show. CZW interrupted his match with BJ Whitmer. At the 100th show it's Claudio whose hand he shakes finally following the code of honor only for Claudio to stab ROH in the back. Daniels had never won the ROH world title. Again it's just a theory but the math fits.

Dragon Gate Rules Do Fixer Dragon Kid, Ryo Saito and Genki Horguchi vs Blood Generation Cima, Mashato Yoshino and Narkui Doi- Dragon Gate is built on two things Stables and Multi Man matches so we get this. Prazak claims these are the top two stables and its the longest standing feud in Dragon Gate I have no idea if this is true. Horguchi and Yoshino start us off. Arm wringer by Yoshino, Horguchi drops down and goes to pull Yoshino down but I think Yosnhino forgot the sequence and he was standing  few seconds to long. Exchange of holds and than a kip up. Arm fro by Horguchi. Tag to Doi and Dragon Kid. Doi with a  big shoulder tackle. Flying head scissors by Dragon Kid. Horguchi and Cima tag in. Big drop kick by Cima. Doi inter fears but Horguchi side steps and Cima send Doi off the apron. Yoshino and Saito in. Yoshino runs the ropes with amazing speed arm drag by Saito than one by Yoshio. Head scissors blocked into a side slam for Saito. Dragon kid in and drives a forearm to Yoshino's back. Horguchi and Saito with a series of double team moves. Dragon Kid back in. Doi in and some over hand chops on Kid. Suplex by Doi gets two. Tag to Cima. Cima picks Dragon Kid up with one arm and toss him across the ring. Scoop slam than a senton gets two. Spin kick by Dragon Kid tag to Saito. Running back elbow by Saito than a leg drop. Doi enters the match. Exchange of chops and Saito gets the advantage. Dragon Kid in Saito picks up Kid and uses his feet to hit Doi. Horguchi in triple team drop kick from Do Fixer. Blood Generation takes over after forcing Horguchi into a corner. Hairmairs by all there members of Blood Generation. Yoshio with a octopus than a sunset flip gets two. Doi in again and he kicks at the stomach of Horguchi than running senton in the corner with Doi does really well one of the times the moves looks really impact-full. Cima back in double team shoulder tackle. Cima and Yoshino hold Horguchi as Doi goes for a flipping senton. Cima back in Running drop kick right to the ass of Horguchi. Cima holds Horguchi Doi goes over his back and cannon balls onto Hourguchi Yoshino than use Doi to launch himself and hits Horguchi. Yoshino holds so Cima can hit a double stomp off the top rope. Cima use an abdominal stretch. Doi in and cuts off a tag with a double ax handle. Now here is something I really don't get about Dragon Gate rules. NO TAGS ARE NEEDED! At first I though it was meant to be lucha rules where if a partner went to the floor another wrestler on that team could enter but according to Dave and Lenny you can just enter when ever. So why from a logic stand point haven't Saito or Dragon Kid entered to make a save? Maybe I need to watch more Dragon Gate to understand this but it just seems like a logic hole.

Horguchi blocks a suplex and hits one of his own. Tag to Saito. Over head bell to belly. Dragon Kid and Yoshino in (no tat btw) and Deja Vu by Dragon Kid sends Yoshino to the floor. Horguchi with  flip dive takes out Doi and Yoshino. Osi moonsault by Dragon kid. Saito and Cima in the ring. bad looking droop kick by Cima. Power bomb by Saito than the fishermen's express gets two. Blood Generation all get int he ring sires of blows to saito in the corner. Dragon kid and gets sat on Saito shoulder Cima with a bull dog. Double stomp off the top by Yoshino who gets more height off the top than I have ever seen before amazing. Horguchio with an inverted DDT on Doi. Doi Five gets two. Doi to the top but Saito cuts him off. Doit though gets the Advantage and is on the shoulder of Saito on top of the ropes. Dragon Ki cuts off Doi and Rana's him off the top and Saito with a big splash only gets two. Now at this point Prazak declares this action speaks for itself so he and Lenny stop talking. ROH does this form time to time but here I think they made a mistake. You had six guys that weren't ROH regulars using comes fans weren't' used to seeing. Also image if this was your first ROH DVD and all of sudden this happened? I get wanting the reaction and moves to play for the fans at home but I just don't think it was a good idea here for this match. Everyone in and wild exchange. Big DDT by Horugucino on Cima. Saito with a rana on DOi. Saito with a German suplex on Yoshino than the Dragon Rana by Dragon Kid but Doi makes the save.  Inverted pile driver by Horguchi on Cima only gets two. Doi and Yoshino hold Saito int he air as Cima comes off the top rope with a double stomp than he hits a back cracker on Horguchi. Schine on Dragon Kid who kicks out. Dragon kid with an ace crusher off the top on Doi. Dragon Rana on Doi by Dragon Kid gets the win for Do Fixer. It's a very good match if your a fan of Dragon Gate I would defiantly seek it out. You could tell all six men were busting there ass to steal the show during there US trip.  Post match the fans cheer for all six me Cima shakes hands with Do Fixer following the code of honor. I'm not sure but I think Blood Generation war supposed to be heels. Doi and Yoshino seemed to be pissed Cima showed respect. See that would have helped to have the announcers explain.

Nigel McGuinness sends word from his tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH. NOAH says he is defending the Pure Title all over the world making him the true world's champion. Nigel claims to be the best champion in ROH based off the list of people he beat including Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. He than starts to talk about people saying Danielson is the better wrestler. Nigel denies it and saying Danielson doesn't defend his title all over the world and he hasn't beat the people he's beat. And he hasn't met the man that can take the pure title from him. It's a great promo from Nigel and I like them getting him on this major show even without him appearing live. It also does a fantastic job of setting up for the eventually Nigel vs Danielson feud mainly because McGuinness had a number of valid points.

Six Woman Mayhem Lacey vs Rain vs MsChif vs Daizee Hayes Cheerleader Melissa vs Alison Danger- Boy do I feel sorry for these girls not only to they have to follow up a match that wore out the fans they also had to do it with similar rules. Now this match did come after intermission but still not easy to follow the match before it. Rain aka Payton Banks and Lacey were normally tag team parters in other companies Rain. I don't really know how to describe MsChif's gimmick think of it as enraged goth chic. Haze came out to the Embassy Music unlike her previous ROH appearance and there was even some toilet paper left ever. Melissa worker for TNA as Rasia Saeed and Alissa Flash was considered by a lot of popped to be the best women's wrestler in the world and even won the future legend award from the Cauliflower Alley Club. She and MsChif were also feuding at this time. This match was all about helping to sell SHIMMER DVD's. Right away we get a series of rolls ups with all the girls going for a quick win. Finally its down to the Haze and MsChif. Series of wrist locks exchanged until Daizee hits a head scissors takedown. In comes Lacey and she taste Daizee's foot. Back breaker by Lacey and in Comes Danger. Curb kick by Danger and Rain comes in hits an inverted DDT. Melissa sends Rain to the outside and calls for MsChif but it's the Haze thats in first. Big clothesline by Melissa. MsChif in and she takes a Samoan Drop. Body scissors takedown by MsChif and than into a birding chin lock broken up by Rain. Danger in and she rolls up Rain only for Lacey to make the save. Camel clutch by Lacey Drop kick by Rain. Rain goes for a muta and she stretches Rain across on her knee. Melissa in and camel clutches Danger who still has her legs tied up by Rain. Haze in head scissors on MsChif and chin lock on Melissa. Lacey breaks it up. Down to Melissa and MsChif.  Drop toe hold by MsChif sends Melissa into the turn buckle. Double Stomp onto the back of Melissa by MsChif. Big splash to the floor by MsChif takes out Lacey, Rain, Danger and Melissa. Haze with a moonsault press to the floor. Danger and Haze back into the ring. Mind trip by Haze. Lacey  the ring spin kick. Every girls one big move before being taken out by someone else everyone is down. MsChif with the code green on Danger. Implant DDT by Lacey on Mschif. Heart punch and Yakuza by Haze. Acid Rain on Haze. Melissa with the air raid crash on Rain. MsChif with a weak looking kick to the face of Melissa. Standing moonsault by MsChif gets two before Melissa kicks out. Inverted cloverleaf by Melissa and uses MsChif own legs to kick her in the back of the head. Haze breaks it up with a few Yakuza kicks. Green mist spit by MsChif takes out Melissa. Decacrater by MsChif on Rain gets the win. Car crash match and  again coming right after the six man tag that was a mistake. The girl are all great talents I just wish they had been the third match or something.

Homicide with Julius Smokes vs Mitch Franklin- Mitch was a ROH wrestling school student so he had zero chance of winning. Prazak says the was supposed to be the fight without honor between Cabana and Homicide but with Colt injured Homicide has won the feud.Knee by Homicide than a hard back elbow. Franklin gets his boot up an scores with a cross body. Homicide blocks a head scissors. T-Bone by Homicide gets two. Diving head but my Homicide misses. But the Cop Killer doesn't and scores the win for Homicide. Ok squash match but why not put this on after intermission?Yes there was a still a segment with Colt to come but it didn't have to follow up the Cide vs Franklin match. I jus think would have worked better than the women's match.

As Homicide celebrated his victory Colt Cabana appeared on the ramp. Colt said a concussion wasn't going to stop him from ending this and charged the ring.   Big punches from Cabana and than the butt butt followed by a big boot. Thumb to the eye by Homicide. Cabana with a haymaker lays Homicide out. Brawl to the outside and Homicide tossed into the guard rail a few times. Homicide get back dropped through the ringside table. Back into the ring they go. Cabana with a missile drop kick. Shoulder breaker by Cabana. Smokes up not  the apron and Cabana bring him into the ring. Homicide with a few chair shots to Cabana's head. Homicide sets the chair i the corner and rams Cabana's head into it Smokes with the worst looking pushes I have ever seen. Congrats idiots you make the WWE divas look good. Homicide pulls a ladder out of under the ring. Cabana has been busted open. Homicide drops the ladder on Cabana's back. DDT into the ladder by Homicide. Homicide sandwiches Cabana in the ladder as the idiot Smokes forces one of the cameras to shoot him instead of the two wrestlers. Chair shots by Homicide on the helpless Cabana. Homicide gets a microphone and goes for cheap heat talking about the Cubs. He than warns Cabana tomorrow he will end his life. BULL SHIT segment. Once we have Colt taking a massive beat down after months of beat down after beat down I think the only two times Cabana won a fight/brawl was once by DQ and a tag match where Steve Corino get the pin. What they should have done was have this be the night Cabana started to get the best of Homicide and have Homicide for the first time ever show fear at what he had created. Thus setting up the the final battle instead we get another ass kicking by the heel. It's not even an attempt at 50 50 since it's been 95 5 Homicide.

As the fallen Cabana was helped from the ring Chris Hero and Necro Butcher hit the ring. Hero mocked ROH's idea of hardcore and called ROH garbage. Adam Pearce and Claudio Castgaonli hit the ring. Pearce fought with Butcher as Claudio gave chase to Hero. Pearce slammed the Butcher off the apron and they fought in tot the crowd. Pearce whipped Nerco into a stack of chairs. Than it was time to fight where there was no lights. I could make out Butcher hitting Pearce with a series of chairs and I don't mean chair shots I mean he picked up a chair used it once picked up another one. Now total darkness someone took a big bump an dI assume it was Necro since Pearce was the one I saw standing when they got back to the lights.  And same dumb pick up chair hit once drop pick up new chair stuff by Pearce. At least with Pearce I could see he was being handing the chairs by fans so you could argue it was about crowed involvement.  Necro  sent Pearce into the guar rail and they fought back into the ring. Pearce with a  bite to Necro's head I hope he has a good doctor that's a good way to get kick. Pearce set up to suplex Necro to the floor but  Hero returned and cracked a chair on Pearce's back. one of the worst working side russian leg sweeps I have ever seen by Necro send Pearce though a table at ring side . Suddenly Chris Hero runs off in fear and in the biggest BULLSHIT MOVE EVER! We see it's Jim Cornett with his stupid bat running him off. I don't care if Cornett has a gun there is no reason Jim Cornett should ever run him off. I know Cornett sees himself as something of a tough guy by threading to beat up a WWE writers and spitting on Ed Ferra but but Hero is a wrester and at this point ROH's top heel. Cornett nails Butcher with the bat. Hero some how regains his courage and returns and locks in a fur jar arm bar on Cornett. Samoa Joe runs out and attacks Hero. Joe picks up the bat as BJ Whitmer appears on the ramp with a chair. Joe and Pearce corner Hero and Pearce nails him with a chair shot. Butcher leaves and Hero takes a big chair shot from BJ Whitmer. The ROH students run out and carry the unconscious Hero out. Cornett tells the to toss Hero in a dumpster. Cornett  asks the fans to cheer for the "Home Team." First we go from one crazy hardcore fight to another one. And the stupidity of having Chris Hero even for one second back off from Jim Cornett even worse the dumb fans even chant for Cornett. Ok maybe Cornett did have a hand in booking ROH at this time.

After the other leave Samoa Joe stand in the ring and borrows the line of he's here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And he's out of bubble gum. He than calls out Christopher Daniels to start there… triple threat match with Jimmy Jacobs. Again it's a good promo by Joe as he always had the ROH fans eating out of his hand. But do you see my point with booking it like this where the one on one match with Joe and Daniels comes on night one and they keep wrestling each other?

Samoa Joe vs Jimmy Jacobs with Lacey vs Christopher Daniels - Before Daniels entrance Lacey gets on the microphone and tells this is his chance to beat up Samoa Joe and he better make her proud. Daniels was without his usual manager of Alison Danger now it could be she was hurt earlier in night or this was meant to play up on her freak out from the night before. Jimmy takes a second to remind us he and Lacey are match of the year. Joe and Daniels start to exchange. Jacobs tries to get involved and Joe shoves him away. Daniels nails Jimmy with a punch when he tires to attack him. Finally Jimmy decides to stomp on the other two guys feet and than a double dropkick. Snapmare on Daniels than seated dropkick by Jacobs. Daniels with a series of clotheslines. Jacobs whipped at Joe who hits him with a shoulder. Daniels with an inverted DDT on Joe and a rock bottom on Jacobs who he slams onto Joe. Daniels with an Arabian press on Joe gets two. ST Joe on Daniels. Jacobs wit some chops on Joe. Jacobs goes for a spring board cross body but Joe just moves. Decent match but they fell into the trap of one guy is down for a while the other two fight at times. I think the missed slap is strange but stuff does happen. At least Joe didn't choke out Daniels but why not give Daniels another win since his moment was ruined by the CZW guys. Also I find it strange they didn't explain why Danger wasn't with Daniels. Even if you had dropped the idea for her freak out why not go something like "Allison Danger suffered a twist ankle during the six woman mayhem she is going to be fine but the trainer told her to stay off it for the rest of the night."

ROH World Heavyweight Championship Bryan Danielson © vs Roderick Strong- Oh fuck this is the main event and they there is still over an hour left on the DVD. That means they actually let as my old buddy Patrick Kelly says "The starting point for a create a wrestler" go an hour. Does anyone even big Roderick Strong fans want to see him go an hour? Well the back story to this was Danielson had wrestled Strong in title matches twice before each time it taking him a long to beat up. Now that just means Strong is getting closer to a draw but in ROH its reason enough for another match. Also Strong had made Danielson tap out during the Tag Wars event.  Danielson insist he be introduced as the best wrestler in Chicago that weekend. Danielson shoves Strong during the handshake. Both men are down as the referee counts.

Takedown by Danielson and into the figure four. Strong hits the mat but I guess that doesn't count as a tap. Another thing I never get? I could see ok he did once but no strong hits three times. in a tapping motion. Strong gets the ropes after an extended time in the hold. Dragon suplex blocked roll up by Strong gets two. Now think about it have you ever slapped something really hard and solid? It strings for a few seconds but you don't break it. You can break on  punch but that's because your driving small bones at a focused point a slap speeds the blow out. Plus it was clear the post was hollow. Danielson stomps on Strong hand now that would break your hand. Danielson sends Strong back into the ring. Danielson stomps on the hand. Bobby Cruise tells us there are five minutes left in the time limit. Strong covers and gets two. Strong hold finally locked in. Danielson coiners into a roll up for the win. BAD MATCH! First it goes way to long. I can enjoy a long mach but it's got to be good long match. the kind of match where I'm not looking at the clock seeing how much time has passed. This one dragged on and one. Second it felt like every submission was locked on way to long to kill time. I think they wanted to make people think the match was going to end in a draw so that was part of it but when Danielson has the Cattle Mutilation locked in dead center of the ring for nearly ninety seconds and the guy isn't tapping out it doesn't make the match exciting you just know the counter is coming. Third as I pointed out its not likely your are going to break a hand or wrist on a chop/slap. It will hurt but not disable the hand. Fourth Strong is way to limited to go this long it felt like ever other moves was a chop. On top of that since all his big moves are basically back breaker he can't sell the leg injury. Hell given how import using legs are in lifting I doubt Strong should have been able to pick him up much less drop the guy on his bad leg. But on top that we Strong running around when he is supposed to have bad leg.

Post match the two men shake hands. Danielson stand on the turnbuckles and shows fans the ROH world title as Strong is helped to the back limping to sell his leg actually no he doesn't he just walks off not even limping. Than we cut to Lance Storm saying he's been training for ten months for this Again Lacne I don't care your not as good as you think your are. Dave Prazak has found Colt Cabana and asks how he's felling. Colt is just reacting it's got to end and we close on that. There are two bonus on this disk one the Ballad of Lacey music video Jimmy Jacobs did and Erick Stevens vs Jerrelle Clark FIP match. Since I already reviewed the Ballad of Lacey and the match has nothing to do with the story lines on SCOH we will skip them.

This show sucked for the most part. There are some good matches on here like the six man tag and Aries/Evans vs Styles/Sydal. But look at the way this is set up we have  repeat of Cabana and Homicide from the night before more or less. A first blood match as the third match on the card. A stupid opener that dragged on forever and felt more like something out of WWE than ROH. A wild brawl after we had already seen one plus who want to see Necro Butcher in ROH?  Daniels and Joe wrestling in a 3 way after a blow off the night before. Than we get to an over long main event. As good as the Dragon Gate match is its not worth the money for this show. Don't just skip this one avoid it all costs.
