SHIMMER 73 DVD Taping Results 4.11.15

The show opens with Tessa Blanchard calling out the people who say she’s riding her father’s coattails. Tessa says it’s better than riding the coattails of the male indie wrestlers like the other girls in the locker room. Ouch. She goes on to say she will beat every person she faces in SHIMMER.

SHIMMER Announces Chickfight Tournament For Wrestlemania Weekend

SHIMMER has announced in a press release that it will hold a Chickfight Tournament during Wrestlemania 31 weekend at SHIMMER 71. The event will happen on March 28 at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (344 Tully Road) in San Jose, California. Bell time is 12 PM PT local time. It’s part of World Wrestling Network’s “WWNLive Experience” weekend with EVOLVE, Kaiju Big Battel, the King of Indies tournament, and WWN’s “Mercury Rising 2015.” The event is suitable for all ages.

The winner of the tournament will be given a future shot at the SHIMMER championship, held by Nicole Matthews. Participants will be revealed in the coming weeks. If you don’t see the event in person you can watch the live iPPV on www.wwnlive.com and also as video on demand at www.ClickWrestle.com. Tickets will cost $75 for the front row reserved, $50 for second row reserved and $25 for general admission.

WWNLive Launches New Roku Channel

- WWNLive.com has officially launched its own channel on Roku. The channel is reportedly available now in the “New Channels” section for Roku.

Through the Roku channel, fans will have access to purchase CZW, DGUSA, SHIMMER, SHINE, FIP and other streaming events. Kayfabe Commentaries will also be available. In addition, WWNLive is offering a free, one-hour preview show.

It is possible to synch the channel with an existing WWNLive.com account. This can be accomplished by ordering an event that has already been purchased, and then putting in a code that comes up on the Roku channel into the pre-existing WWNLive account. PWinsider reports that this will synch the account and allow users to play what has previously been ordered.

b. Alex Bernadino & Markus Crane defeated The Archangel and Moondog Bernard. Crane pinned Archangel with a knee lift/Cutthroat Lightning Spiral combination.

SHIMMER Volume 65
- A video promo showed Thunderkitty at a bar where she gets a call from her agent booking her for tonight, but balks at the 80% agents' fee.

1. Veda Scott pinned Leva Bates with a tights-assisted inside cradle.
- Nicole Matthews and Portia Perez come out, with Matthews challenging Madison Eagles to a rematch. Eagles comes out in a sling, with Nicole claiming that Madison is ducking her. Courtney Rush, Evie and Heidi Lovelace came out to challenge them to a 6-woman match and to find a partner to replace Eagles. Portia replied that they can find someone better than her.

2. Christina Von Eerie beat Angie Skye with a stranglehold lung blower.

3. Thunderkitty pinned The Spider Lady with a small package.
- Amber Gertner interviewed LuFisto, who says she had the best intentions when she came out to help Yumi Ohka in her match against Cheerleader Melissa. Saraya Knight interrupts and tells LuFisto that she's going about things the wrong way.

4. Courtney Rush, Evie & Heidi Lovelace beat Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews & Jessicka Havok. Lovelace pinned Perez with an O'Connor Roll after avoiding a wrench attack.

6. Kellie Skater & Tomoka Nakagawa (c) beat Saraya Knight & Rhia O'Reilly to retain the title. Nakagawa pinned O'Reilly following The Hangover. Saraya gave a death glare to Rhia for accidentally knocking her off the apron in the closing moments of the match.

7. Yumi Ohka pinned LuFisto with a running Yakuza Kick. Saraya came out during the match cradling Pegaboo, and then pulled her head off after the match, leading to a brawl between LuFisto and Knight.

8. Ray & Leon beat Kimber Lee & Cherry Bomb. Both were pinned following a Senton Bomb by Leon and a moonsault by Ray.

9. Athena defeated Kay Lee Ray with the O-Face.

10. Mercedes Martinez pinned Hikaru Shida with the Fisherman Buster.

11. SHIMMER Championship: Cheerleader Melissa (c) pinned Mia Yim with an Air Raid Crash to retain the title.

Melanie Cruise def. Kay Lee Ray and Nikki Storm via a Piledriver on Ray.
Heidi Lovelace def. Angie Skye via a frog splash.
Saraya Knight & Rhia O’Reilly def. Leva Bates & Veda Scott via DDT from O’Reilly to Bates. After being uninterested in the entire match, Veda refused to tag in, leaving Leva to get pinned by Knight and O’Reilly. Post match, Knight and O’Reilly attack Bates, prompting Allison Danger to try and make the save, but she’s stopped by the referees.
Christina Von Eerie def. Marti Belle via the Stranglehold Lungblower.
LuFisto def. Neveah via submission. Post-match, LuFisto demands a title shot. Allison Danger comes out and says that the decision isn’t all hers. Cheerleader Melissa and Mercedes Martinez come out and says that LuFisto doesn’t deserve another shot after being beaten three times and should work her way up from the bottom again. Danger reluctantly agrees with Melissa, and sends her to the back, after telling her she will defend her title against Yumi Ohka tonight.
Nicole Matthews vs. Evie vs. Madison Eagles vs. Courtney Rush in a Fatal Four-Way match. Courtney Rush wins via an Explorer Suplex on Nicole Matthews. Post-match, Portia Perez comes out and joins Matthews and Eagles to attack Evie and Courtney. Heidi Lovelace makes the save.

SHIMMER 62 Report

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of SHIMMER 62 from the WWN Experience at McAlister Auditorium on the campus of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Daffney is in the ring and she welcomes everyone to SHIMMER62.

Your announcers are Dave Prazak and Amber Gertner.

Match Number One: Sassy Stephie and Nevaeh versus Solo Darling and Heidi Lovelace

Neveah and Heidi start things off. They lock up and Heidi with a wrist lock. Neveah with a reversal. Heidi uses the ropes to reverse the wrist lock into an arm bar. Nevaeh with a take down into a wrist lock. Heidi and Nevaeh with reversals until Nevaeh applies a cravate. Heidi with an arm bar. Solo tags in and she uses the ropes for an arm drag.

Solo with a wrist lock and Nevaeh with a reversal. Solo rolls through and takes Nevaeh down and she tags Heidi back in. Stephie tags in and Heidi with an arm drag and a back heel kick. Solo tags in and hits a bulldog from the turnbuckles for a near fall. Nevaeh breaks up the cover and kicks Solo.

Stephie with forearms to the back. Stephie with forearms and then she trips Solo and applies a modified Muta Lock. Stephie with a forearm to the back and a snap mare followed by a kick to the back. Stephie drives Solo’s head into the mat and tags in Nevaeh. Nevaeh with a near fall after knocking Heidi off the apron.

Nevaeh with a suplex to Solo for a near fall. Nevaeh with forearms followed by a chop in the corner. Stephie tags in and she connects with shoulders in the corner. Stephie with a forearm but Solo with a rollup for a near fall. Stephie with a reverse chin lock and she mocks Heidi for a tag.

Nevaeh tags in and she kicks Solo in the corner. Stephie chokes Solo while the referee deals with Heidi trying to get in the match. Nevaeh gets a near fall. Nevaeh with a sleeper. Solo with a rollup into an arm bar. Nevaeh avoids a kick and gets a near fall on Solo.

Stephie tags back in and connects with a forearm to the ribs. Stephie with an abdominal stretch. Nevaeh gives Stephie some extra leverage while Heidi distracts the referee. Nevaeh tags in and gets a near fall. Solo misses an enzuigiri but she kicks Nevaeh away and Heidi tags in. Heidi with a kick to Stephie and then Nevaeh. She goes back and forth and then she gets a near fall on Stephie. Stephie and Nevaeh with a double spinebuster for the three count.

Winners: Sassy Stephie and Nevaeh

Match Number Two: Veda Scott versus Leva Bates

They shake hands before the match starts. Leva with an arm drag but Veda with an arm drag of her own. Leva with a rollup for a near fall. Veda with a rollup for a near fall. Leva has a kick blocked. Veda has a block kicked. Leva with a kick to the head. Leva with an Irish whip but Veda with a back heel kick and a cross body for a near fall.

Veda with a Lotus Lock on Leva and Leva leans back to get a near fall. Veda with a body scissors but Leva with a rear chin lock. Veda gets back to her feet and she hits a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Leva with chops to Veda followed by a series of round kicks. Leva with a high knee and then she hits a hesitation double knees to the chest for a near fall.

Leva with a drop kick to the knees and then Leva drives Veda face first into the mat for a near fall. Leva with a forearm to the chest. Veda with an Irish whip and forearm into the chest. Veda with a Saito suplex and bridge for a near fall. Veda with a cravate but Leva with punches. Leva runs Veda into the turnbuckles and then Veda runs into a boot from Leva.

Veda stops Leva on the turnbuckles and she goes up top. Leva with the Pepsi Plunge for the three count.

Match Number Three: Vanessa Kraven versus Kay Lee Ray

They lock up and Kraven sends Ray to the mat showing that she has the size and power advantage over Ray. They lock up again and Kraven sends Ray to the mat again. Ray with a waist lock into a side head lock. Kraven picks up Ray and Ray tries for a shoulder tackle but she cannot move Kraven. Ray tries for another shoulder tackle series but Kraven stays on her feet.

Ray with an enzuigiri to send Kraven to the mat and then the floor. Ray goes for a suicide dive but Kraven with a forearm to stop her. Ray with kicks to the leg. Ray with a head scissors but she takes too long for a charge into the corner and Kraven with a power slam for a near fall. Kraven chokes Ray in the ropes.

Kraven with chops to Ray. Kraven with a shoulder tackle. Kraven with a suplex to Ray and she gets a near fall. Kraven with a forearm to the back and then she kicks Ray in the corner. Kraven misses a splash into the corner but Ray with a running boot into the corner followed by a snap mare and drop kick for a near fall.

Kraven with a clothesline and then drives Ray’s head into the mat a few times for a near fall. Ray with forearms and she tries for a cross body but Kraven catches her. Ray avoids a kick with a Matrix move. Kraven tries for a German suplex but Ray blocks it. Kraven is able to hit the German suplex and gets a near fall.

Kraven with kicks to the head followed by an elbow drop and leg drop for a near fall. Kraven with forearms to the back but Ray with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Ray with a kick to the chest for a near fall. Kraven with a clothesline and she picks up Ray and sends her into the turnbuckles. Kraven with kicks in the corner.

Kraven with chops to Ray in the corner. Ray chops back but Kraven with a forearm to the back. Kraven kicks Ray in the corner and she tries for a cannonball but Ray moves. Ray with a running forearm into the corner. Kraven with an Irish whip and Ray with a cross body off the turnbuckles. Ray goes up top and hits the Senton Bomb but Kraven gets to the floor to avoid the cover. Ray hits a suicide dive and soars and scores onto Kraven.

Ray rolls Kraven back into the ring and Ray goes up top but Kraven grabs Ray by the throat. Ray punches Kraven but Kraven sets for a power bomb but Ray rolls through and gets the three count with a sunset flip.

Match Number Four: Kimber Lee versus Ivelisse in a Non Title Match

They lock up and Ivelisse with an arm drag. They lock up and Kimber with a wrist lock. Ivelisse with a reversal. Kimber with a reversal but Ivelisse with an arm drag. They lock up and Kimber grabs Ivelisse by the hair but Ivelisse with arm drags. Kimber tries for an arm drag but Ivelisse holds on. Kimber takes Ivelisse down but Ivelisse with a kick for a near fall.

Kimber backs into the corner to slow down the pace. Ivelisse charges into the corner and Kimber sends Ivelisse into the turnbuckles. Kimber with a choke and then she sends Ivelisse into the turnbuckles. Ivelisse with kicks to the leg. Kimber sends Ivelisse into the turnbuckles. Kimber with chops to Ivelisse. Ivelisse chops back and they go back and forth.

Kimber with a clothesline for a near fall. Kimber with a rear chin lock into a reverse chin lock. Ivelisse with punches to get out of the hold but Kimber with a boot to the head for a near fall. Kimber chokes Ivelisse in the ropes. Kimber pulls Ivelisse away from the ropes but Ivelisse lands on her feet and she connects with a kick but Kimber with a clothesline and she chokes Ivelisse.

Kimber tries for a suplex but Ivelisse with punches to stop her. Kimber gets Ivelisse up for a delayed vertical suplex. Kimber goes up top but misses a frog splash when Ivelisse moves. Kimber with a forearm but Ivelisse fires back. They alternate forearms with the fans behind Ivelisse. Ivelisse with a round kick and a back heel kick followed by a head scissors.

Ivelisse goes to the apron when Kimber moves. Ivelisse with a kick to the chest and then she gets a near fall. Kimber with a chinbreaker and then she hits a German suplex for a near fall. Kimber with a round kick to the head and she gets a near fall.

Kimber goes for a bicycle kick but Ivelisse moves. Ivelisse with a kick and Code Red for the three count.

Nicole Matthews comes out and she says that they were supposed to have their rematch for the tag titles, but Portia Perez could not be here. Instead she asked her second best friend to go after the tag titles. She brings out Madison Eagles.

Madison wants to know when they were friends. She wants her second championship.

After some tension, they hug but Madison kicks Nicole when she turns her back.

Match Number Five: Candice LaRae versus Athena

They shake hands before LaRae gets a quick rollup for a near fall. Candice with a sleeper but Athena with an elbow. Candice goes for a crucifix but Athena blocks it. Candice with a rana and a kick to the leg. Candice takes Athena down with a boot to the chest and she follows with a back senton for a near fall. Athena with a wraparound clothesline.

Athena with a cartwheel into a clothesline in the corner. Athena misses a knee in the corner. Athena with forearms and then they alternate covers. Athena with a kick and Candice blocks a suplex and Candice with an inside cradle for a near fall. They go back and forth until they roll around the ring and Candice gets a near fall when they stop.

Both women are dizzy and Athena misses a punch. Candice misses a kick. Athena with a spinebuster for a near fall. Athena with a kick to the midsection followed by a slam for a near fall. Athena with a forearm followed by an Irish whip but Candice with a head scissors to Athena followed by a kick to the chest and a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall.

Athena and Candice exchange forearms. Athena misses a round kick but she does not miss a second time. Athena with a kick to the head followed by a suplex for a near fall. Athena with a hammer lock and she rolls through into a submission. Candice gets a near fall. Athena with a kick to the head followed by a punch and a kick to the chest.

Candice with an Octopus on Athena in the center of the ring. Athena sends Candice into the turnbuckles to get out of the hold. Athena with kicks in the corner. Athena blocks a kick and hits a leg trapped overhead belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Candice with forearms to the midsection and then to the head. Candice with kicks to Athena.

Athena with a drop toe hold that sends Candice into the mat. Athena goes to the floor and hits a round kick to Candice. Athena goes up top and misses a double stop. Candice with a DDT and she gets a near fall. Candice with a running back elbow followed by a running bulldog for a near fall.

Candice with a front face lock and Athena sends her into the turnbuckles. Candice with the ballsplex into the turnbuckles for a near fall when Athena gets to the ropes. Candice puts Athena on the turnbuckles and she chops Athena. Candice is sent off the turnbuckles by Athena and Athena hits the O Face for the three count.

Mercedes Martinez says that tonight is the night that she will defend her NCW Femme Fatales Title. She does not care that this is a SHIMMER show. She makes a challenge to anyone in the back who wants to try to take the title from her.

Courtney Rush comes to the ring and she says that she is a regular holder of that title so she accepts Mercedes challenge.

Match Number Six: NCW Femme Fatale Championship Match: Mercedes Martinez versus Courtney Rush

Rush attacks Martinez before the announcements are made. Rush with a wraparound clothesline. Martinez with an Irish whip but Rush with a back elbow. Martinez goes to the floor and decides to take a few seconds to sit in the crowd with the fans. Martinez gets back into the ring to break the count and she goes right back to the floor and takes a seat in the back row this time. Rush decides to lay down in the ring while we wait for Martinez to get back to the ring.

Martinez gets back into the ring long enough to stop the count. It looks like she is going to stay in the ring for the remainder of the match.

They lock up and Martinez backs Rush into the corner. Martinez misses a punch but Rush does not miss with forearms. Martinez with a thumb to the eyes when the referee was out of position. Martinez with a front face lock but Rush with a wrist lock. Martinez with a punch to the midsection. Martinez with forearms in the corner followed by a punch. Martinez with a side head lock take down. Rush with a head scissors.

Martinez bridges to try to get out of the head scissors but it does not work. Martinez escapes and she punches Rush. Martinez with an uppercut and a wrist lock. Rush with a reversal into a side head lock. Martinez with forearms and a chop. Martinez with forearms but Rush with a waist lock. Martinez with elbows and a punch.

Rush with an Exploder suplex for a near fall. Rush with a front face lock. Rush with a suplex for a near fall. Rush goes for the Sharpshooter but Martinez gets to the ropes. Rush pulls Martinez out of the corner with a modified power bomb. Rush with a Sharpshooter but Martinez gets the ankle and she applies an STF.

Rush gets to the ropes and Martinez releases the hold. Martinez with kicks to Rush. Martinez chokes Rush in the ropes. She breaks the hold but mocks the referee by reapplying the choke in the ropes. Martinez with kicks to the chest while Rush hangs over the middle rope.

At this point the stream went down momentarily.

When it came back, Martinez with shoulders in the corner followed by kicks. Martinez chokes Rush in the corner. Martinez with forearms to the back and she sets for a Gibson Driver or Butterfly Suplex but Rush drops down to block it.

Rush with a back body drop and the stream went down.

The stream comes back and Martinez hits a spinebuster for a near fall. Martinez sets for the Fisherman’s buster but Rush counters with an inside cradle and a near fall. Rush with a rollup for a near fall and then she gets a near fall with a back slide. Rush with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall.

Rush with a spear and both women are down . . . along with the feed from the building.

The stream is back and Rush with a Sharpshooter on Martinez and Rush pulls Martinez into the center of the ring. Martinez is able to get to the ropes.

The stream goes out but when it comes back, it appears that Mercedes Martinez got the win.
