Former WWE Talents Work TNA Dark Match, Drew Galloway Gets New Tag Team Partner In TNA?

Former WWE Superstar Mason Ryan worked a dark match before today's TNA One Night Only pay-per-view tapings in Orlando. He defeated former WWE NXT talent Shaun Ricker, known as Slate Randall.

- Another dark match at today's tapings saw Drew Galloway and Crimson defeat Sam Shaw and Jessie Godderz. Crimson cut a promo after the match and said he's back in TNA. Drew also spoke and talked about he and Crimson being a tag team for fans who like real wrestling. A correspondent noted that Drew seemed to be teasing the team's TNA TV debut soon.
Opinionated View- I would pass on Ryan unless he's really improved since the last time I saw him. I always thought Crimson has real potential and a team with Galloway could be really interesting.

Why Was Mason Ryan Released From WWE?

- The release of Mason Ryan surprised several people within WWE. He was said to be well-liked, had an impressive look and was from Wales in the UK. The fact that he was from the UK is important because he could have been a draw on overseas tours. However, his ring work wasn't moving along as fast as officials wanted. It was decided that it would be better to let him go to free up space at developmental.

Opinionated View- I'm stunned he lasted this long. Yeah he has the big muscle look WWE loves but he had a short run on the main roster and failed to get over. Than he's been back in NXT doing nothing ever since.

WWE NXT News and Notes

- As we reported last week, WWE made several cuts in their developmental talent including Shaul Guerrero, Mason Ryan and others. This was done because they have several names coming in in the next couple of months, including a handful of amateur wrestlers sent along by Gerald Brisco to start in June. Brisco was high on Tony Nelson, but he hasn't signed with the company as of yet.

- Speaking of scouting, William Regal went with Canyan Ceman, the senior director of talent development, to Brazil last week to scout some potential recruits. They may be sending some names up to Orlando for tryouts.

Four Names Gone From WWE NXT

WWE has released the following four talents from their NXT developmental system earlier today according to a report by Mike Johnson:
Mason Ryan - Ryan was part of the WWE roster from 2011-2012, notably part of CM Punk's New Nexus stable. Ryan had been showcased on NXT TV throughout the last year.
Shaul Guerrero (Raquel Diaz) - Diaz was showcased on the FCW TV program prior to WWE switching over to Full Sail University from 2011-2012, notably winning the FCW Women's Title and being part of the original incarnation of the Ascension. Diaz had taken leave late last year for a medical issue, but had returned to NXT late last year, although she was never shown on the WWE NXT TV program in her second run.
Oliver Grey - Grey had just returned from a major knee injury that kept him out of action for over 8 months. Grey had been featured prior to his injury as one-half of the British Ambition tag-team with current NXT Champion Adrian Neville, notably winning the tournament to crown the first-ever NXT Tag Team Champions in early 2013.
Danny Burch - Burch was signed in 2011, but was mostly used as an enhancement talent on the WWE NXT TV program.
