Buyrates From WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and Fast Lane

WWE released the following information today in their Q1 2015 earnings report about the buyrate for the WrestleMania 31 PPV on traditional PPV:
* WrestleMania 31 (3/29/15, headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns) drew 259,000 buys, down from 690,000 buys for WrestleMania 30 in April 2014.

WWE released the following information today in their Q1 2015 earnings report about the buyrates for the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble and Fast Lane events on traditional PPV.
* Royal Rumble (1/26/15, headlined by Roman Reigns winning the Rumble) drew 145,000 buys, down from 467,000 buys in 2014.
* Fast Lane (2/22/15, headlined by Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan) drew 46,000 buys, down from 183,000 buys in 2014 under the Elimination Chamber incarnation.

Opinionated View- I know a lot of WWE defenders will go it's the network. But these are pretty heavy drops and PPV still must have some value if no why hasn't WWE just hasn't gone all network

WWE Fast Lane Card

Bad News Barrett defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose and The Usos defending the WWE Tag Team Championships against Cesaro & Tyson Kidd has been added to the card for the upcoming WWE Fastlane PPV this Sunday in Memphis.
Here is the updated card for the show as of Monday evening.

Opinionated View- It will be interesting to see what happen when Reings goes over in terms of fan response. Ambrose and Barrett along with Usos vs. Kidd & Cesaro could be good but Cena vs. Rusev and a Bella match. I don't care if WWE Network is free this month this show isn't good enough you couldn't pay me for it.

Reddit User Claims WWE Wants To “Quiet the Marks” With Fast Lane Main Event (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

  Reddit user MetsFan4Ever, a verified WWE insider who has broke news in the past, has said that Roman Reigns will win his match with Daniel Bryan at WWE Fast Lane and face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. The only reason the Reigns/Bryan match was made, according to MetsFan4Ever, is so WWE can please the “marks” while getting Reigns over. They will stick with their plan regardless of how the fans react because Reigns vs Lesnar is the planned main event of Wrestlemania 31.

 

He also said that WWE knows people will watch Wrestlemania regardless of the card. He said he was told they could book Doink the Clown vs Brock Lesnar and fans would still watch because Wrestlemania is bigger than anyone on the show.

Even though Reigns is going over at Fast Lane, Bryan was picked to get him ready for Wrestlemania. Bryan is considered one of the most physical wrestlers on the roster and can prepare Reigns for a match with Lesnar.

Opinionated View- If Reigns goes over fans will boo. It may not be as bad as it was a the Rumble but they will be upset. And one month working with Bryan will not get Reigns ready. Unless Bryan is working with him 24/7 on his promos he won't be ready.

Original Plans For Daniel Bryan & Roman Reigns At WWE Fast Lane, Update On Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar

As noted, Daniel Bryan will now face Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE's Fast Lane pay-per-view with the winner facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Original plans for Fast Lane had Roman Reigns defeating a top heel, possibly Big Show, and Bryan being used to put Bray Wyatt over to keep him strong for The Undertaker. Regarding booking for Bryan, WWE wanted to put him into a feud with Sheamus for WrestleMania 31 but his opponent was switched to Dolph Ziggler after Bryan reportedly requested the change. It's possible that Bryan vs. Ziggler still happens. For what it's worth, people handling the actual promotion of WrestleMania 31 were still under the impression that Reigns vs. Lesnar will be the main event as of this week and in the promotional material, Reigns is to be the most heavily promoted, followed by Lesnar and John Cena. It's worth adding that WWE has not included Sting in any of the WrestleMania promotional material and since he's all but confirmed for the event, his involvement will be a major selling point so new material should be released soon.

WWE Fast Lane PPV to Face Big Competition

- WWE returns to PPV on February 22nd for the Fast Lane PPV, and they will have big competition on that night in the UFC and Hollywood’s biggest stars. They will be up against the UFC Fight Night 61: Bigfoot vs. Mir event, which airs on Fox Sports 1 starting at 6PM ET, as well as the 87th Academy Awards special.

Huge Match Set For WWE Fast Lane, Sting - Triple H Confrontation Also Teased For The Show

WWE started a new Authority twitter account today and teased two major events for the upcoming Fast Lane pay-per-view.The tweets read "Per the Office of The Authority and COO Triple H, John Cena will face Rusev at WWE Fast Lane on the WWE Network." Cena and Rusev filmed an angle after the Royal Rumble to kick off their feud.Also, a confrontation between Triple H and Sting was teased, with the company issuing the following tweet:

New Match Advertised Locally For WWE Fastlane

Local advertising in Memphis for the upcoming WWE Fast Lane PPV on 2/22 is listing Roman Reigns vs. Big Show in a Last Man Standing match. Previous local advertising was promoting a tag team match with John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Big Show and Seth Rollins.

Opinionated View- Show of hands does anyone actually want to see the Big Show and Reigns feud? Because I sure as hell am sick of it already.

WWE Advertising Main Event For Fast Lane?

Users on Reddit are reporting that in the Memphis area there were ads running for WWE Fast Lane during the Memphis Grizzlies NBA game. The ads advertised a tag team main event match pitting John Cena and Roman Reigns against Big Show and Seth Rollins.

Obviously the card is subject to change at any time, and this is not confirmed by any stretch.

Opinionated View- Well Rollins in the main event that is a positive. Cena vs. Big Show in any form is going to suck. If WWE goes though with pushing Reigns as a top guy when he is clearly not ready him in the main events will be really ugly.

Elimination Chamber replacement pay-per-view details

WWE Fast Lane pay-per-view tickets will go on sale on Saturday. The event will be held on February 22 in Memphis, Tennessee at the FedEx Forum. Read more information at WWE.com.
Fast Lane is taking Elimination Chamber's slot in February. Elimination Chamber is expected to move to a later date n the annual pay-per-view schedule.
