WWE Respondes To Darren Young

WWE issued the following statement late Tuesday night responding to comments by Darren Young where he criticized the company for touring Abu Dhabi this week in a country where homosexuality is a crime and punishable with jail time.

"WWE does not discriminate against individuals regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we continue to proudly support Fred Rosser (aka WWE Superstar Darren Young) for being open about his sexuality. Unfortunately, WWE cannot change cultures and laws around the world, and thus we did not send Fred Rosser to the United Arab Emirates for our upcoming events for his own protection. WWE also fully supports Fred Rosser's right to express his views on personal social media accounts rather than WWE's corporate platforms."

Darren Young Deletes Tweet About WWE Tour, Says His Freedom Of Speech Is Gone, and Says No One Has His Back

We noted before that Darren Young spoke out against WWE's tour of Abu Dhabi earlier today with the following tweet:

"Why do we bring the best entertainment into a country like abu dhabi and they look down upon women and gays? I get it! #MillionsofDollars"

Young has since deleted that tweet. He posted the following after deleting it:

After deleting a tweet that criticized WWE's tour of Abu Dhabi, where homosexuality is a crime, and posting another tweet saying his freedom of speech is gone, Darren Young posted the following

Opinionated View- I understand that for Darren Young these are very personal issues and very deep beliefs. And I can respect anyone that stand up for there beliefs. How ever WWE saying "We won't tour that country." Won't change the laws and standers of that culture. From a business stand point I get it. WWE isn't making much money if this tour and new market pumps cash into the company they gotta take it.

Darren Young Makes in Ring Return

Darren Young made his official return to WWE last night at the 12/20 live event in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Young won in the opening match of the night against Justin Gabriel. Young had been out of action since April with a torn ACL in his left knee.

Opinionated View- And no one cares! Nothing against Young but he's not that good in the ring he doesn't have any real chrisma. Hell did anyone notice he was gone?

Plans For Adam Rose's Bunny

- WWE is discussing plans to continue to use Adam Rose's bunny to help him win matches. The bunny would eventually reveal itself to be Darren Young. 

Opinionated View- Poor Rose it's bad enough he got this stupid gimmick but this sounds like he is going to have to carry Young who can barley tie his boots in matches.

Timeframe Given For Darren Young's Recovery Following ACL Surgery

After hearing word from Darren Young that he was forced to undergo surgery earlier today, we now have a timeline for his return. WWE.com reports that Young will be out for four to six months according to WWE Dr. Chris Amann.

- Vince McMahon and Triple H were reportedly very happy with Titus O'Neil's promo work on Raw last night. O'Neil had been pitching a heel turn on Darren Young, and ended up going to Vince McMahon to pitch the idea. McMahon has told the writing staff that O'Neil will get his chance to sink or swim. McMahon was also said to be happy with O'Neil's character growth since the turn.

WWE SUPERSTAR...I'M GAY

WWE superstar Darren Young just dropped a bombshell, telling TMZ, he's gay ... and no, this isn't part of the act.

Darren was at LAX Wednesday when we asked whether a gay wrestler could succeed in WWE, and Darren laughed, saying, "Absolutely. Look at me. I'm a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay. And I'm happy. I'm very happy."

For the record, Darren is now the first openly gay wrestler ever at WWE ... and the first headlining wrestler ever to come out while still signed to a major promotion.

Other pro wrestlers have been rumored to be gay, but that's it ... just rumors.

Bottom line: this is big, big news. For all its chauvinism and testosterone-driven bravado, coming out in WWE is tantamount to coming out in the NFL.

Of course, wrestling is a little different, particularly because of how physical it is, and how little clothing is involved -- but Darren is completely unfazed. Watch the video to hear why.
