We previously reported that Sasha Banks suffered an injury at the Royal Rumble that kept her off of live events and forced the WWE to move her tag team match with Bayley against Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross from last week’s RAW to Monday. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestling Inc), Banks has still not been cleared to return to in-ring action, which is why the match played out like it did. It featured Fox and Cross attacking Bayley and Banks, resulting in Banks being at ringside, but Bayley working the match alone. Meltzer said the decision to allow Banks to be at ringside was “rare” but it was done to advance the storyline and get the team qualified for the Elimination Chamber.
It’s still believed that Banks will be ready to go by the time the PPV happens on February 17 in Houston, Texas.
