New Match Set For WrestleMania

Chris Jericho vs. AJ Styles has been officially added to the card for WrestleMania 32 this Sunday night in Dallas at AT&T Stadium. Jericho accepted Styles' challenge Monday night during RAW in Brooklyn following his match against Zack Ryder.

Opinionated View- To bad WWE already gave this match away three times. Than they had to rush through a tag team break up to justify doing it again. And for those about to talk about how this will be a classic. It's Jericho this guy phones it in. And yes he phones it in big time at Mania.

WWE Officially Announces Snoop Dogg For WWE Hall of Fame

WWE has confirmed that Snoop Dogg will be the Celebrity Induction for the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2016. You can read the announcement below:

Snoop Dogg has sold more than 37 million albums worldwide, he’s the first artist to have his debut album top the Billboard charts, and he has won American Music, MTV Video Music and Source Awards. Now, Snoop can add another accolade to his lengthy resume: WWE Hall of Famer. The music icon will be the celebrity inductee in the Class of 2016, taking his place in the Hall this Saturday, live at 8 ET/5 PT on WWE Network.

Snoop’s contributions to hip-hop almost need no introduction. After bursting onto the scene as a collaborator on Dr. Dre’s solo debut album in 1992, Snoop Dogg branched out on his own. His 1993 solo debut, Doggystyle, produced hit singles like “What’s My Name?” and “Gin & Juice,” and helped Snoop establish himself as one of hip-hop’s most revered artists.

When he’s not laying down the hottest tracks in music, Snoop is an avid member of the WWE Universe, and has even joined WWE’s Superstars and Divas to create several memorable moments. He brought his unique flair to WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, where he served as the Master of Ceremonies for what could only be described as a unique Lumberjill Match between Divas Maria & Ashley and Melina & Beth Phoenix. Coming to the ring in a custom Mercedes-Benz cart, Snoop led the Lumberjills to the squared circle and introduced the competitors in his inimitable fashion. Later, when Santino Marella tried to confront his ex-girlfriend Maria after the battle, Snoop leveled The Milan Miracle with a clothesline, then shared a smooch with the beautiful Diva.

Snoop returned to WWE in 2009 as the special guest host of Raw. Right off the bat, he showed he was more than willing to give the WWE Universe what they want, making a blockbuster matchup between John Cena and Triple H. The hip-hop icon showed that he wasn’t afraid to get physical, either, protecting Hornswoggle from a beating at the hands of Chavo Guerrero by stopping the third-generation grappler in his tracks with a huge spear.
 Snoop Dogg keeps a close eye on WWE to this day, and is arguably the biggest fan of his cousin, “The Boss” Sasha Banks.

Opinionated View- What a fucking disgrace! What has this guy even done in the WWE to warrant the celebrity induction? I'm just sick thinking of all the great names that aren't inducted but this guy is. Even worse you know his speech will be those dumb lines he always does.

Update On TNA Negotiating With Potential Investors

It was previously reported that TNA has been in talks with potential investors. On Wrestling Observer Radio (via wrestlinginc.com), it was said that recent talks are very serious. One party looking to invest wants to obtain a majority interest; Dixie Carter wants investors but reportedly does not want to sell a majority of the company. Dave Meltzer noted that the potential partners are looking for something around 55% of the company.

Opinionated View- Well again its Dave and his track record with TNA is more miss than hit. Until I hear something from Dixie or TNA I'll just let it play out.

Velvet Sky’s TNA Contract Ending Soon

Velvet Sky’s TNA deal is set to expire in the next three to four weeks. Sky has been with TNA since 2007, and has been a top merchandise seller for the promotion. With TNA regulars like Bobby Roode, Eric Young and now Angelina Love departing the company, there is a lot of speculation that Sky may be next to go.

Opinionated View- Well her leaving wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. And I like Velvet but she's been with TNA a long time the more "Street Tough" gimmick gave her some new life but not much. Again Velvet leaves but hey Cherry Bomb or Veda Scott could get that spot. Maybe Brittany comes back.

WWE Has Had Contact With Bobby Roode And Eric Young

As we previously reported, there is a belief within the wrestling world that Eric Young and Bobby Roode will be signed by WWE. Now Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has been in contact with both men through an intermediary. According to Meltzer, the WWE is more interested in Young than Roode at this point. However, that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t bring both men on board if things work out. There’s no word on if they are actually in talks with the two about coming in, just that they’ve had contact with them.

Opinionated View- Well it's Meltzer so I wouldn't believe it. The guy loves to repost things with little changes to get clicks.

WWE Global Cruiserweight Series to Start Airing on July 13th

 

WWE announced today that the Global Cruiserweight Series will debt on the WWE Network on July 13th. The series will run for 10-episodes, and will feature 32, 205 pound competitors. The same article also confirmed that EVOLVE Wrestling, PROGRESS Wrestling and Revolution Pro Wrestling will all host bouts in the coming weeks to help determine some of the competitors.

 

Pwinsider.com reports that he current plan for WWE’s Global Cruiserweight Series tournament is to tape the entire tournament the week of June 20th at Full Sail University. They will tape for five days.

The Miz Shoots Down Injury Rumors

According to a previous report by WrestlingInc.com, it was suspected that WWE Superstar The Miz could’ve been injured at last night’s WWE house show in Richmond, Virginia. Fans in attendance claimed that The Miz looked to be in legitimate pain after his match with Jack Swagger. The Miz later commented on the rumors on Twitter and said he’s not injured. Angelina Love Says Her TNA Contract Expired

TNA Knockout Angelina Love announced on Twitter that she is gone from TNA Wrestling. She revealed on Twitter that she is working out and getting ready to hopefully return to the ring by June. Love recently gave birth to her son earlier this month. She also revealed on Twitter that she is no longer under contract with TNA and that her contract expired during her pregnancy.
